See photo of website that I checked today. I even had my wife call them to confirm because it is April 23rd and I wasn't sure if the season started yet. No one answers the phone. They just have a recording saying to check their website for days and hours. So we drove there. The ticket booth had a lighted sign that says, "Open" and listed their hours as Noon - 6PM Monday through Sunday starting April 19th but no one was there and many rides had tarps over them. We walked around looking for someone and finally found a person who worked there. They said they are only open on weekends. My wife explained that she called and no one answers the phone. The person said that we should have checked the website for their hours. She said, "We did and it says you are open." As does the lit up sign at the ticket booth! The person said, "Well all the rides are closed and covered with tarps." Anyway, my granddaughter started crying. She was so disappointed because we had told her all about the rides and bounce house and she had been so excited to go. We couldn't go back on the weekend because she was leaving to go back home to Maine on Friday. This place has gone downhill. This is the second time in the last year that it has been closed when it was supposed to be open and I will not subject my grand kids to this nonsense and disappointment, nor will I give my hard earned money to a company with such poor customer service. Save your money and go someplace where they will treat you right!

Canobie Lake Park is perfect for people of all ages! There's a wide variety of rides, food options,…read moreand the slides at the waterpark (which is included when you get a day pass for the park)! My family and I went on Sunday, August 16th and had the time of our lives! We had been here last year around this time, as well! Got there at 11:00am or so, and left at around 7:45pm. This just shows how much there is to do here, and how great it is for everyone! Some of us wanted to do the smaller rides, (the dragon (a kiddie ride) coaster, wave blaster, over the rainbow, and more!) and others wanted to do the big ones (untamed, yankee cannonball, Boston tea Party), and everyone appreciated and was happy with the rides that they did! For lunch, we went to the Sons of Liberty tavern, which is just across from Boston Tea party, the big flume ride. (Don't worry though, it's just out of the splash zone!) It was a little pricey, but everyone loved their food. For snacks around the park, you've got a lot of options. We got a bag of popcorn, Italian ice, and strawberry dole whip! (since they were unfortunately out of pineapple) Line-whise, the longest one we waited in was for Yankee Cannonball, which was around a 45 minute line. (The ride was awesome and worth it, though.) So, overall, we have had great experiences with Canobie Lake Park!! Thanks for reading, -A PRO TIP:: Once you enter the park and go through security, make sure to grab a map near guest services at the entrance and plan out your route a little. It helps!

Expect a day trip for 2 to be over $100 for tickets alone. Food and drink in the park is pricey, like you would expect for an amusement park. The great thing about Funtown is that you are fully able to bring in your own food. My family opted for the annual season pass, as we come multiple times a season. If you plan to attend more than once, I highly recommend going the pass route. It pays for itself after 2-3 trips. Does it need updating? Sure, but honestly, it's part of the charm. Go forth and have a good time!

My family and I had a good ol' time at Funtown Splashtown USA when visiting Maine this summer…read more We've never visited this park, and now that our kiddos are taller and can ride all the rides, we thought we would give it a try. We went on a Wednesday at the end of June and it was not crowded at all. My kids had a blast! Right when the park opened we headed to Excalibur and rode it about 4 times to start off the morning. Everyone was so excited to ride it that many times. It's a wooden roller coaster that is a lot of fun. I highly recommend it. We hit all the Funtown rides multiple times. They loved the bumper cars, the vintage car track, the wild mouse, thunder falls log flume (which gets a little bumpy, but it cools you down on that drop), Atmosphere (which is an indoor Sizzler type ride with music and animations, that is the weirdest thing I think I've even seen in my life), and especially Whispering Pines Haunted Hotel. That last one is a dark ride where you have to save people from ghosts. You get a laser type gun to shoot at the targets and keep your score. I'm not sure how accurate they really were, but it was fun none the less. After a pretty "meh" lunch, we headed to the Splashtown area. They have a few water slides, a pool for the kids to swim in, and a little splash pad. The water slides were fun, until I bonked my head goind down Amphitrite's Challenge. You go down head first on a mat and for some reason on one of the turns my head didn't follow along. It hurt pretty bad, and I had one of the EMT's on staff help me out. He was very very nice and gave me an ice pack. I appreciated his kindness as I felt so silly after the event. Overall, we had a fun day exploring Funtown Splashtown USA. If you are looking for something to entertain the kiddos for the day, this is definitely a nice option.

My…read morefam went once for the holiday lights in December and recently for the Day Out with Thomas Event. Both times my family and I have had a ton of fun. My son is five and the majority of rides are perfect for him. This is truly a great spot for young elementary school aged kids and younger. There are a few rides where you have to be taller and keep the older kids a bit more engaged and plenty of rides for the younger bunch. Is this place pricey-- yes! But show me an amusement park that isn't. The tickets are high, but you can spend at least four+ hours at the park. We have not encountered crazy lines as others have. The Topham Hat car ride always has a longer wait at around 20ish minutes, but for almost all the others we never waited more than 5-10 minutes. The steam train ride is nice and it's a pretty long ride around the park. If your child loves trains, they will love it here. All the model trains/tracks inside are great to look at as well. It is a little weird how they must have lost their Thomas the Train licensing and the Thomas area very clearly used to be Sodor but now is a winter village. Things like the Dieselworks and the Troublesome Trucks are still pretty clear, even it it's not official. The food here is pretty standard. There is a local BBQ place that must rent out on of the stalls though, because their food was super tasty. Otherwise it's more hot dog, chicken nuggets, fried dough, popcorn, etc. I never went to Edaville before the new owners took over, so maybe that is why my perspective is different-- I have nothing to compare it to. Looking through old pictures though, I do hope they bring dinoland back! My family will be heading back in December for their Festival of Lights!

I have collected Edaville souvenirs and memorabilia for as long as I could remember and I don't wanna say that I'm a train enthusiast, but my career is ON a railroad. I was seriously delighted to hear that the KRF group was going to tackle keeping the Christmas season alive at Edaville! Before our visit, a lot of the local pages on Facebook had naysayers and doubters, and I took the reins trying to be positive: "If it wasn't for the KRF group, there would be no Edaville, since the previous owner gave up and sold off all of the rides." With all that said, we visited with an open heart and mind, and were sadly, completely underwhelmed. Yes, I did notice there were more lights around the park -more so than the last few years. I thought that the giant Christmas tree just beyond the entrance was quite lovely. And, I hate to say it, but that's the end of what delighted me. The shops from the last few years were missing (Hippie Pilgrim, the antiques, the hand painted ornaments,) and the only shops to visit (and there were so few) were those also featured during the renaissance faire. To be honest, some of those shops featured Christmas items, but mostly, it was confusing and completely underwhelming. To call anything on the advertising and Edaville ticket pages a "Merry Marketplace" was quite deceiving. The Jingle Bar, advertised as 21+, was fun and festive but it was crowded with children. And the thing that really disappointed me the most? PortaPotties! It was 33° and I know the Venue has bathroom facilities! To make people use outdoor, frigid cold toilets and cold water is downright cruel! To charge $28 for a visit that doesn't include a train ride, to shop in 10-15 shops featuring old English provisions, and to pee in a PortaPotty, is a crime.

Thunderbolt is one of those rides you want to love because the nostalgia is doing all the heavy…read morelifting. This classic wooden coaster has history -- real Riverside Park DNA -- and that alone gives it a certain charm you can't manufacture. But once you get past the sentimental value, the cracks start to show. The biggest issue is the line experience, or honestly, the lack of one. There's no staff presence helping guests form or maintain any kind of organized queue, so the line turns into a free‑for‑all. People cutting, groups merging, confusion everywhere -- it takes away from the fun before you even reach the station. And speaking of the station, the ride itself feels like it's running on the bare minimum. For an older coaster, you expect a little rattle, but this feels more like low maintenance than vintage charm. Thunderbolt deserves better upkeep, especially given its legacy at the park. At the end of the day, the nostalgia is notable -- even special -- but the overall experience doesn't match the potential. With some attention to operations and maintenance, this could easily climb back into must‑ride territory. Hold on to your seats and try to enjoy
