Went to play mini golf. The course was good, not to hard but also challenging. You can pick from two different courses.

My daughter and 5 year old granddaughter drove down from Bangor, ME. My granddaughter so badly wanted to go to Mini-Mel's so we checked the website to see if they are open yet for the season and it said they were open from 12-6PM. See photo of website that I checked today. I even had my wife call them to confirm because it is April 23rd and I wasn't sure if the season started yet. No one answers the phone. They just have a recording saying to check their website for days and hours. So we drove there. The ticket booth had a lighted sign that says, "Open" and listed their hours as Noon - 6PM Monday through Sunday starting April 19th but no one was there and many rides had tarps over them. We walked around looking for someone and finally found a person who worked there. They said they are only open on weekends. My wife explained that she called and no one answers the phone. The person said that we should have checked the website for their hours. She said, "We did and it says you are open." As does the lit up sign at the ticket booth! The person said, "Well all the rides are closed and covered with tarps." Anyway, my granddaughter started crying. She was so disappointed because we had told her all about the rides and bounce house and she had been so excited to go. We couldn't go back on the weekend because she was leaving to go back home to Maine on Friday. This place has gone downhill. This is the second time in the last year that it has been closed when it was supposed to be open and I will not subject my grand kids to this nonsense and disappointment, nor will I give my hard earned money to a company with such poor customer service. Save your money and go someplace where they will treat you right! read more

This place was amazing the parking is a little tough but once you get a spot and head over to the ticket booth and get your bracelet you can enter the park. Walk up the path and view all the spectacular lights of all colors. The trees are beautiful and the candy kanes are also amazing the houses are lite up the props were beautiful the veterans memorial was a salute to all branches and very beautiful the trees were incredible in all different colors well worth the time to take your family and friends and enjoy the beautiful colors read more

Such a fun place I saw the low reviews but did not have same experience now remember there was a bunch of teens working but they were decent to me. My uncle got me passes which are about 25 bucks for the mini Mel's area my son had a blast. Than we did mini golf which for 2 adults and a child was about 33 and we even got some ice cream cuz u can't come back east without black raspberry ice cream. Bro I was on a school trip and we went to Mel's fun way and at the racing thing they said no hitting others and guess what right in front of a worker someone hit me a nd it's was on purpose like you could tell and they did nothing and my friend was in front of a worker and almost got tipped over my some and they were doing it on purpose and they did nothing and the second I start to slow down a bit they yell at me and the laser maze is kinda broken and some girl at got at the bumper boats and idk if she can swim but they told her suck it up.. This is a review of their ice cream stand. They were generous with free samples but the ice cream was just ok. They didn't have as many flavors as a lot of other places. The root beer float was better. Of course there is a lot of fun stuff to do like mini golf and laser tag so it gets a bump for that. read more

Most amazing holiday light show I ever seen. Best in New England for sure. Forbthe adults spiked Hot Chocolate, Wine, Beer and drinks for the kids. Your children will talk about this for years. Hard packed while path smooth enough for a stroller and easy on the legs for little ones and grandparents. Make it a family affair. read more

Played mini golf, hit at the batting cages and rode go carts. Had a great time with two small kids under 5yo. Their mini golf is split into two different courses; 18 holes each. The one to the left is easier so we did that one. It was good for small children but probably wouldn't be great for teens/adults. The one to the right is much more fun for older kids. I was just there the other day. Pros: It had a good variety of activities (Go-Karts, Mini Golf, Bumper Boats etc.) The ice cream was good and they had a good amount of toppings. They sell Pepsi products which I prefer over coke products so that made me happy. The guy running the Bumper Boats was super nice. I lost my AirPods and left them on the ride. I thought they were missing and the Find My Feature on my IPhone wasn't working per usual. Luckily he noticed they were in the ride and when I came back looking for them he gave them right back. He got a $2 tip for his help It was a pretty fun golf course and a good level of challenging but it wasn't impossible. Cons: My golf ball accidentally fell off the course into a nearby pond and I had to use somebody else's. They were very easy to fall into the pond and it happened to somebody else I was with. The Go-Karts. My Go Kart was in the way back and it was so loud. I couldn't hear the worker explaining anything. So we started driving. I was doing well at first but unfortunately I accidentally bumped into the side of a boundary. So they had to move my car. So I think I went around 3 times and then I got to the end and I did not know which button to press to stop the car. I just took my foot off the break but it was a bit too late because I accidentally crashed into somebody. This guy checked to see if the guy I crashed into was ok and he was. Then the guy told me that since he explained how we were supposed to stop the car and I didn't do it correctly I wasn't allowed on the ride for the rest of the day. Anyway though the other guy working on that ride was really nice and he pushed my car back to the end. So that did kind of make for a disappointing ending but besides that it was a fun day. read more

Mini golf was fun however if you plan to go on a Monday- pack a lunch because there is zero food other than ice cream. I was surprised that was the ONLY option. Very disappointed that it is not advertised that the Cantina is closed on Monday's. read more

Had fun miniature golfing even though course is not well maintained. Lots of age related dips in the green which cause the ball to do crazy things. The worst of it was that when we finished, we were told we were not allowed to come back today, (not that we would want to) since we had taken too long to complete the course. We were a larger group of four adults and six very well behaved children, split into two groups. Everyone in our group was very respectful of the course and other people there. We let a couple of groups pass through, so as not to hold them up. Nobody asked to play through, or mentioned there was a problem while we were on the course, so I don't think there is anything else that could have been done about it. Clearly, this venue discriminates against large families. The time we took to complete the course was absolutely appropriate for a family of ten. read more

We had a great morning at Mel's with our little grandchildren. It's a bit pricey, but great for special days. Their packaged discount tickets do save money- I only wish they had a "5 Days" package or some other greater bulk discount? Anyway, a great time. We bought the groupon deal and came here with 2 kids. All of us enjoyed our time here. The place is not as modern as it can be. Since we got the groupon deal, every course was unlimited except the go kart. We enjoyed every course they offer, except maybe the mini golf. Looked like they are renovating another golf course, and building a new course. The flooring was uneven at the mini golf course. But the kids still enjoyed the mini golf course. The batting cage was a good too. It was fun for kids who like baseball or just hitting the ball because the machine spits baseball/softball out at you. The machine might not be in the best condition but we did make the best out of it. The laser tag was in a small building and we had fun in there. They are pretty good about letting you stay in there longer if no one is around. The go kart was really fun. It felt like the speed was set, and you cannot really go too fast. You also get one free med ice cream with one topping from the groupon. It was too much for 2 people to share that one med ice cream, so we claimed 2 ice creams at a time for 4 of us to share. All four of us enjoyed Mel's Funway. We were there for almost a whole day taking advantage of our unlimited everything. So instead of driving elsewhere for lunch, we ate at the diner there. Surprisingly the food is not bad. We had the stuffed tater tots and it was really good. We shared the ruben and it was not bad. The kids shared a chicken tender meal. Their french fries are good. If we are to go back there again, we will probably get their seafood; it looked like they gave you a big portion. read more

I went here for a school trip and it was awful, I mean possible the worst experience I've ever had at a park. I honestly wasn't expecting much from Mel's but still. The mini golf course was disgusting, some of the holes were even complete un-playable and my group had to skip those holes. The worst part of my experience was how rude the workers were, they were yelling at the customers and banning us from doing some of the rides, one of the employees even called a 13 year old "a f*cking p*ssy." While riding the go cart ride. They were also extremely rude to me while riding the go carts because I was confused on what to do. Around every corner of the go kart course there were workers standing on the sides, as I drove around all of the workers yelled at me continuously, for no reason when I wasn't doing anything wrong. There wasn't a moment when I was driving the carts that I wasn't scared or worried about why the workers were yelling at me. I was so glad when it was time for the ride to end. Then I saw workers walking around asking to see specific people's tickets, I was extremely confused. Then one of the workers came over to me and asked for my ticket, he then drew an X over my ticket and said that I was banned from going on the go carts, FOR LIFE!!!! Never go here, only go here if you like being yelled at by some stupid teenage workers that don't know what they are doing. read more

This review is strictly for the mini golf course. I was here over the weekend and was so disappointed in the quality of the course. It clearly has not been maintained properly and is in extremely poor condition. The decor and landscaping surround the mini golf area is in great condition. Nice new flowers and landscaping ... but it ends there. The putting greens are all wrinkled and coming up from the ground. There are holes and rips in the green. You actually have to walk on the greens to get to the next hole, which explains why it's probably in such poor condition , but this stuff needs to be maintained and kept up to date. It makes playing almost impossible. read more

When you walk up to buy passes there is a big sign on the wall with all the activities included in your pass. Go cart, mini golf, driving range etc. you pay your $30 per kid pass. Then after- when kids go to driving range it's closed. Sorry we didn't tell you but you can do anything else for a second time. Ok. My kids want to do the go carts a second time. Well anything EXCEPT the go carts. Ok we will take a credit back for the price of the driving range. No. We can't do that either. So you are telling me that I paid for something you can't deliver, and you won't give me my money back? Well- yes- I guess we are telling you that. Interesting business practice. It would be one thing if this place wasn't pretty expensive but it is expensive and I took 5 kids. That's no small change. Oh, and the manager told me the fact that the driving range is closed is posted online so I should have known. Perhaps it should be posted where you are PAYING for tickets to said range? read more

Huge disappointment! Came here on labor day weekend having bought a groupon for a day pass which includes unlimited activities and 3 go kart rides. When we arrived, there were paper signs that said the driving range was closed for the season despite the website saying that attractions were open and running. We found out later that this was because they were setting up Spooky World.. If they had simply informed visitors, this would be less of an issue. The restaurant was also closed despite being posted as open on the website. The mini golf course was terribly designed such that there is no where for you to stand other than on the rock and wood dividers or on the next hole while others are playing on it. Furthermore green turf has been so worn down that the edges are coming apart and the ball no longer rolls properly. There was also a hole with a cement square where the hole is, making it impossible to play. The batting cages were all single option, half softball and half baseball. Each cage was a designated speed and the height of the ball was not adjustable. There also was only one cage per speed. Laser tag was a free for all. There were no rules, no team and no where to go when someone shoots you due to the set up and space. All the elements of this park are extremely antiquated and in need of serious renovation. Don't waste your time or money. read more

Come here early in the day to avoid the inconsiderate douches and their children who always flock here and who seem to think they own the place. Hey sir with your two daughters! You are not exempt from the rule about taking turns at the batting cage. And oblivious father and two bratty sons, when you are finished with the hole at the mini-golf course, kindly get the f#$% off the green so I can hit my ball, mmkay? If not, someone might get a golf ball off the leg. I'm just saying. Clearly I don't have the patience to be at a place like this all day. This is a pretty swell place. Two parallel courses move lines along quickly. The courses are challenging without being impossible (although there are some places which make it easy for you to put your balls in the water, and not in a good way). Minigolf pricing is pretty cheap - My daughter and I played 18 holes, and it cost me $14. There is a concession stand on site with food, ice cream, and drinks. There is an arcade, and batting cages of varying speeds. This is not the fault of the course, but frequently you will need to wait at holes because some group of teenagers or a family decides to blow off the five stroke max and simply play until someone finally sinks their ball. Try *not* to fistfight them, it's only minigolf. Parking situation can be dicey - especially since people seem to have no concept of controlling their kids in the parking lot. read more

I'll start off by disclosing that I've only been to Mel's Funway Park for Spooky World, but I take advantage of the VIP tickets and go early to enjoy the unlimited batting cages, mini golf, and go karts. I'll admit that I have no idea what their normal prices are, I just know that I go there and have an awesome time. There's a lot to do, including a driving range (which is closed down for Spooky World awesomeness) and an arcade, which looked pretty small and I didn't really check it out. They do have a little bar and restaurant on site too, which is pretty cool. I might appreciate that more if not for my seafood allergies. As it stands, I stay away from it. Anyways, I highly recommend taking advantage of all Mel's has to offer if you're going up for Spooky World. I also highly recommend it for a day out, if you're up for the drive. It's not exactly close for us Boston area people (little over an hour away). I'd probably be willing to make the trip if only because it's not just a trip to the batting cages, there's so much other stuff to do that you can make a full day of it. read more

My friends and I first discovered Mel's Funway Park during summer of 2011. For $45, we had unlimited access to go-kart, batting cages, mini golf, driving range, lazer tag, and lazer maze. They also have a seafood restaurant on site, making it a sweet deal for a fun-filled day. Fast forward and it's summer of 2014, we decided to visit Mel's again. The crowd has drawn in much more over the last few years. The place was packed! Now, it costs $65 for an unlimited pass... And they took that casual little restaurant and turned it into a nice restaurant, with servers and real utensils!! The seafood option is more restricting but there are tons of different food items you can order now. However, everything else is about the same. Go-karts are still my main attraction. If you must know, # 1, 6, 19, 21 are the fast cars! I especially love my #19. My only complaint is the lack of air filter in the lazer tag building. Because it's summertime, it smells like a mix of dead fish and sweat in there. I couldn't stay in there longer than a few minutes. It would be nice if they put some money renovating and making the place better. They usually have groupon deals so I would look out for that. read more

I am not sure why this place is called Mel's online because I didn't see a sign that said Mel's. Pretty much an incredible place, batting cages, laser tag, go carts, mini golf, driving range and a restaurant for seafood. We went during Spookie World so there wasn't all of these options available. They have lights all over the place so my understanding is that they are open until midnight. The biggest complaint that I would have is that half of the batting cages didn't work, so if there is a decent number of people that want to use the batting cages which there always is then there is a wait. Some of the cars seem a little slow, especially the Dunkin Donuts car which is very easy to pass. Laser tag was only open until 6 PM which i can't understand given that everything outside is open until midnight. read more
