    Skate area

This is a cool spot! I ended up here because we were invited by my daughter's friend and honestly; I had never heard of the location before. It's located on the south side of Indy and if you wanted to skate in a not so crowded rink.......come here! The setup is pretty cool too! Right now with skate rental and table reservation they are offering unlimited pizza and drinks! You honestly can't beat it! My daughters had a blast too. The arcade area needs a little work. Unfortunately most of the games were out of order so there were not too many to choose from. The best part is at least the ones functioning were easy enough my 4 year old was able to operate them. She had a blast too! She hit quite a few jackpots and had the time of her life jumping up and down while the tickets came flowing out! This was a great touch because most arcades are digital so you miss the old school fun of tickets pouring out the machines. We will definitely be visiting this spot again and if you're in the area or looking for a low key place to hang out with the family.......come here!

The floor is absolutely humongous. The stereo sounds amazing. Very clean! Maple flooring equals great skating.

This place is great. Came on a Saturday at noon with my daughter. Music is Top40 pop and old school skate funk (Atomic Dog / Bounce Rock Skate Roll etc). This place is very clean for an old school rink, and everything looks to be working (no broken lights / broken games / etc). There were many employees working and everyone was very nice. Prices are decent, and free refills on large drinks is nice. $14.99 deal gets admission, skates, a game card, access to the all you can eat pizza, and a glow stick. Just wow.

Must have been recently rebranded or under new owners

I took a chance when I bought a Groupon since there was no Yelp review. We had a good time and will visit again if we can get a similar deal. We had a bit of trouble finding the place. It is located behind the IMAX theater. The building still has its former name on it. The skating rink has a 1980s retro feel to it. The carpet appears to be newer as does the paint on the walls. Other areas could stand a coat of paint or a good scrubbing. The bathrooms were sufficient and reasonably clean. We went on a Saturday late afternoon until 7pm and music was a mix of pop music, Disney tunes, and family friendly top 40. The music was louder than what it eeded to be. I hate shouting over the music to have a conversation especially when I have young kids with me and I need to relay instructions, etc. Lights alternated between one and off for skating. The floor is good size and is wooden. Skate rental was quick and easy. The adult skates left a lot to be desired. The first pair my husband was given didn't have a tongue in one of the skates. Mine had one lace too short and the other way way too long. The wheels pulled to the right on one of my skates. That being said, I loved that they real skates for my 3 year old and not just the toy type that straps on over the shoe. His skates were in good condition. My daughter brought her own from home with no issues. There were also roller blades for rent. The skatemates could be rented for $5. Concession area was well staffed. We ordered an extra large pizza and it was ready in about 15 minutes. Pizza was surprisingly decent. There was plenty of seating. The kids wanted to do arcade games. More than half of the games were out of order which was a huge bummer. Hopefully they will be fixed soon - or removed. Regardless, the kids had fun with the few games that were available. They loved getting tickets and cashing them in for the typical junky arcade prizes that you see at other skating rinks, bowling alleys, etc. All the staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful when we had a questions.

Nice rink. Two dollar Tuesdays are great. Good music. 4 quarter lockers are highway robbery. Overall a big win for big kids and regular kids too.

Finally made it out here after meaning to do so for two years (oops!) Finally posting this review…read moreafter a month or so in drafts (oops again!) Skosh is a lifestyle bar, so that means everything is available to purchase within the space, from the beverages on the menu to the couch you'll enjoy it on. They have an extensive menu of coffee and non-caf drinks. I got the blueberry basil refresher, which was their syrup of the month for May. It was refreshing, with hints of lemon alongside the syrup flavors. I think it could have been mixed better, since the top was mostly the Sprite and the bottom was more syrupy. It was also a fairly large drink too. On First Friday when I went, they had a nice open mic night with local artists performing their original work. It's great to see a business to support local talent!

I got a salted chocolate chip cookie, but I also considered the cinnamon roll. They also have brownies, carrot cake and yogurt parfaits. It's not a huge food menu. They have a much larger beverage menu, including coffee in all of its permutations, like traditional ol' drip coffee, lattes, Americanos, cortados, macchiatos and the like. Other beverages include tea, lemonade, hot cocoa and yerba mate. The salted chocolate chip cookies was great. Kinda salty and as big as my hand. I think they get the baked goods from a local place. Skosh is like a thrift store with a coffee shop inside it. There are couches and furniture nicely arranged that you can sit on, but that furniture is for sale. So is the clothing that is placed hither and thither. So are the mirrors and paintings all around. You can get something to drink and then kind of just wander around and look at all of the things around the store. A black cat wanders around the store, too! How can it get better? It really can't. Skosh is a must-visit if you're in the Garfield Park neighborhood.

Wow!! What a transformation!! I haven't seen this building since it was Jonathan Byrd's restaurant…read more The exterior is now black and white which is very classic and understated. The Nest Event Center is located in Greenwood just off I-65 at Main Street. The parking lot is quite large and will accommodate a large event. The interior is amazing and you'd never know it was a former restaurant. The lobby area is very attractive, decorated in beiges and cream, and I could see using this for cocktails, a reception line plus so much more. It worked well tonight for purchasing tickets plus an area to sit and relax while enjoying the fireplace. The versatile ballroom is quite large and can handle everything from a wedding, conference to special events. One of those special events is the Holiday Craft Show tonight. The Event Center has a neutral color scheme and can accomadate most bridal or conference color schemes. This proved to be true with all the colors associated with the Holiday Craft Show. Tonight all different color schemes were used and all the crafts looked wonderful. With this neutral backdrop any decor theme would work nicely allowing brides or companies a great deal of flexibility and creativity. The Holiday Craft Show was a huge draw. Many different types of vendors filled the ballroom carrying Christmas decor, wreaths, jewelry, clothing, wool mittens, woodworking projects, signs, candles, crocheted items, lap blankets, floral arrangements and much more. There truly was something for most anyone's interest and many gift ideas. In the future I would like to take an official tour and checkout pricing for a yearly event I'm involved with. This is a beautiful venue with endless potential.

I had never believed in the supernatural before... but this place is indisputably haunted. There is absolutely no question about it! But don't let that deter you! The haunting spirits just add to the charm and fun of this event center. I hope you have an amazing event!

I claim the Contemporary Art Museum of Indianapolis (CAMi) as one of my favorite places in Indy…read more What a hidden gem! They have packed a lot of cool stuff into this space that's adjacent to The Tube Factory. One of the best parts of CAMi: It's free! Just come in and be greeted by a sweet and friendly person behind a desk who will answer any questions you might have. I didn't have any questions -- I just wanted to explore, and you are free to do that. This is an art museum and art gallery, but it's so much more. You'll find a few different storefronts upstairs and downstairs. There's a really cool record shop / 'zine shop on the ground floor, which recently hosted a Found Magazine event. The owner is very friendly and let me know that she teaches 'zine-making workshops, which melted my formerly teenage 'zine-making heart. I love that people are still making 'zines in the digital age. There's also a pottery shop, with really beautiful, handmade goods. Wander around, and you'll find art installations in different rooms of the building. One of my favorite exhibits was interactive, and asked you to erase a drawing and collect the eraser shavings into a jar. How absolutely kooky and wonderful. Another exhibit asked you to think of one really good thing and one really bad thing, and write them down in a notebook. There are places to sit and read or work everywhere. There are secret little nooks with chairs that look out a window. There are spaces to spread out, explore, gather and sit in quiet. One of my favorite places is a building that's just outside of the CAMi building that houses a shrine to motherhood, as well as a shrine to chickens. Oh, the juxtaposition! It was a nice place to sit and be surrounded by dried marigolds, eggs, crystals, and other sacred objects offered up to life-giving goddesses. If you can't get enough of the chickens, then check out the chicken coop that's located just outside the building. I was told that it is a very well-made chicken coop by a chicken expert, and when I peered inside, the chickens looked very happy and content. What a fun and random thing to come across in this art space.

CAMi is the reborn space of the Tube Factory Artspace (and might now be considered one campus). It houses a bar, a few storefronts, a few art exhibits, and many more studios. The campus is also a five acre collective that helps maintain affordable housing for artists. There's a good bit to see and do outside and inside. Entry is free and there's ramps for everything around the space. There is also a designated parking lot for CAMi as well. I liked all of the exhibits inside. I recommend the Research Gallery, highlighting some prominent people in Indy's history in a slightly humorous way. I won't spoil too much of the visit, so that way you can see for yourself!
