Stopped by here today for the first time in my four years as a princeton u student. was pretty happy with the selection of flavors that this store has and their topping bar is decently expansive as well. the service is pretty solid and the restaurant overall is decently clean and tidy. bathrooms were in good shape as well. In general, I would probably avoid FYC for their boba - there are definitely better places on Nassau street that serve boba tea (like KFT, Junbi, ficus, etc). The boba we get for study breaks each week are the cheapest the college office can afford so they usually go with fyc. Props to them for supporting student study breaks with subsidized bobas but would probably always choose another boba place on the street. They have a solid monopoly on the froyo tho and it does taste quite good so definitely swing by at least once if you live near by and want a sweet treat! read more

Almond Bubble Tea was unique. After taking a sip, originally thought what seemed like a grainy texture was due to the powder not being fully mixed but upon further evaluation, this version had ground almonds in it. It was a bit unexpected, if you dig the ground almonds in your bubble tea, this would be for you. As it stood, I like my bubble teas smooth and the texture of the tea didn't make me a fan. For the most part my experience has always been positive, but the bubble tea has been extremely hit-or-miss for the last few months. Half the time the bubble tea is as good as it has always been. Decent place with most of the Asian desserts. Has self-served yogurt that's 49 cents an ounce. Yogurts are ok, and the amount of toppings you can get is about the same as any other self-served yogurt place. Also has shaved ice where they would have you a bowl and you get to add as many toppings as you like yourself that can fit into the shaved ice bowl. And then they have the drinks for $3.99 which includes the tapioca which are ok. Upside, this place is clean, Downside, the egg custard is not that good so do not get that. Overall, ok place. This place used to be good, I even gave it a 5 star review before. But the last few times I've come here the bubble tea has been TERRIBLE. And why are they filling half the cup with creamer?? It's supposed to be a milk tea..... on top of that my boyfriend's peach teas have also been disappointing. I have been very wary of writing a review here, considering that I was an employee for quite a while back during the store's inception. I have experienced the growth of the place as well as the changes, both as an employee and now, as a patron. I would have given Fruity Yogurt 5 stars in its heyday, but now, I have had a few disappointing visits over the past few years. The inconsistency of bubble tea flavor breaks my heart because this is supposed to be an establishment with very regimented recipes. The taste of the bubble tea always varies by employee. The best bubble teas are of course, when Francisco is working. The boba is supposed to be the best part and on many days, they are very good. When I worked there, we were taught to check on the boba every now and then, making sure that the texture and chewiness were still desirable. My most recent boba was hard and tasteless. The only consistent thing here is the yogurt. The quality of the yogurt hasn't changed over the years, which is great. Honestly, the only reason the yogurt is still good is because only very few knowledgeable employees make it. read more

I love this place. its very similar to asian places where you can get the shaved ice, mochi (which i haven't found anywhere else yet), red bean, etc. The flavors such as red bean, lichee, and taro make is suppper thrilled!! If you aren't as adventureous there is also just brownie, chocolate, vanilla stuff to go on your ice cream. They also have boba which I have yet to try. I'm very pleased with this place compared to anything else in princeton so far. Update: I bumped it from 4 to three stars (and it will be under further review to see if it will get 2). Why? I ordered a red bean drink from here and it was NOT good. It was watered down, not enough red bean, do they do icys/smoothie version? I'm not sure but I wouldn't get it again. The girl who was making it seemed like she wasn't sure the portions since she made twice as much and no one was ordering it besides me. Also there was one spoonful of redbean for probably 2.5 drinks it looked like. :( Sad. The coloring was off for whatever powder they were using. I always order red bean from all these asian places and all over asia...easily been to over 40 places ordering red bean and this was on the bottom of the list. On the other hand, the mochi toppings my friend got were very stale and the Black Milk Tea I got had an unexpected cinnamon flavor to it. Walking in here is like an instant dose of endorphins. I love the colors and vibe. I love the variety of flavors and toppings and the fact that they give you little cups to sample various flavors before you fill up a tub. My favorite flavor was taro - taro goes so well with creamy sweet things - but I definitely enjoyed everything I tasted. It's pretty inexpensive since you decide what you want to add, but it is easy to get carried away with all the toppings (mochi! cookie dough! brownie bites! fruit!..!).
