Unfortunately, that professionalism did not reflect my overall experience with the estimating, billing, project management, and quality of the rebuild work. My biggest concern was the cost and management of the project. I found significant discrepancies in the estimates and invoices, including charges for items that were not completed. On multiple occasions, I had to carefully review the invoices and have errors corrected. I also found that much of the work was subcontracted, which, in my experience, contributed to significant markups on both labor and materials. The amount of funding required for the project also changed during the process. Additional funds had to be requested from the insurance company because the original estimate was considered insufficient to complete the project. This resulted in work being delayed while the additional funding was being addressed. Another major issue was the quality and attention to detail. In my experience, corners were cut in areas that most customers probably would not notice. For example, my heavy ceramic kitchen sink was not properly secured. There were also cabinetry items that were left in very obvious poor condition but were still deemed satisfactory and considered complete. The lack of attention to detail was particularly disappointing considering the company's reputation and ratings. These were not simply minor cosmetic imperfections. They were issues that I believe should have been identified and addressed before the project was considered finished. I strongly recommend that anyone using a restoration company carefully inspect the work themselves and review every estimate, invoice, material charge, and completed item. Don't assume everything is correct simply because the company has excellent reviews. Ultimately, I became so dissatisfied with the process that I cancelled Superior Restoration and finished the remaining project myself. The high rating was one of the reasons I initially felt comfortable hiring them, which is why I think it's important to share my experience. My experience may not be the same as everyone else's, but based on what I personally encountered, I would not use Superior Restoration for another rebuild project. If you are considering hiring them, my advice is simple: pay close attention to the details, verify what was actually completed, carefully review every invoice and material charge, and don't be afraid to question anything that doesn't look right. Initially, a remediation company had come out and told me I'd have to rip out the cabinets due to water damage. I wanted a second opinion, so that is why I reached out to Matt. It was a pleasure speaking with him, for he is very knowledgeable of water damage. Matt really calmed my nerves. Our appt time was 9AM, and about a couple minutes after, I see his car pull up. I love when people show up on time. I've had bad experiences in the past where I sit, look out the window, and just wait for someone to show up at the scheduled time. Matt showing up on time really impressed me. He looked at the areas where they may be damage, and didn't find any moisture detected.
