I was out of my home for almost 4 months and living with three kids in a hotel. I was ready to be back in my hoke and promised professional work. There were moments where I started noticing small but apparent issues with the quality of the work being provided. I brought up many concerns and wasn't given much consideration when requesting certain replacement. In fact after accepting a certain shower they installed another without my approval. I understand that maybe measurements weren't permitting the exact model I approved and expected but to install it without my approval and not even notifying me I was heartbroken. There was no caulking done inside the shower leaving gaps and spaces in both of my bathrooms which I'm sure leads to mold and I have even had mold in those spaces since. I had to caulk the showers myself. And now there is a Crack in the base of the stand up shower that hardly gets used. I'm no contractor but I'm sure the Fondation isn't suppose to feel unsupported when standing on it. I only weigh 125lbs. Honestly I was so happy to be back in my home since this happened not even a year after purchasing my home I let things slide. However,I didn't expect a Crack in my shower and no help from this company when reaching out to them with my concerns. Other than referring themselves to come out and charge a fee to fix their own mistakes. Lesson learned. Homeownership isn't for the weak but companies like this make gut wrenching. read more

Can't believe this company is still in business! Day they received $82k insurance check they took off & never completed the crappy job they were already doing! Left the job only 1/2 done & house WORSE than before! Filed a complaint with the CSLB ( Contractors State Licensing Board) & got our $ we had to pay other contractors to fix & complete the work Superior Restoration did not do or did a horrible job doing. They use UN LICENSED contractors from Mexico who they barely pay who do not even know construction. Super shady/corrupt company with unprofessional managers & incompetent workers! Other bad reviews are right! & I encourage other customers to report them to the CSLB so this terrible company cannot rip off any more innocent customers. We had a supply line leak in our bathroom and called Superior. The initial work and communication with Rick and his team was great. If the entire process had been with them this would have been a 5 star rating and review. They work with other companies/laborers and we did not have a great experience with them. I felt like I was annoying them for not agreeing to do exactly what they had in mind for them for repairs or asking too many questions. Rip Off Company!! If you don't like your money and feel like "I need a company to say they're going to fix the problem, take the insurance claim money and rip me off with the work to be done." Then Superior Restoration is the company for you. Because that is exactly what THEY DO. This company Superior Restoration charged me hundreds if not thousands of dollars for work to be done that they never did. Slab leak plumbing fixed. (by another company) First. Superior Restoration came in taped plastic walls to isolate the rooms (2) where the slab leak occurred. Dried the rooms with floor fans, removed my carpet 10X15 SQ FT room and patched a 2x7 foot wall and squares in the drywall where the plumbers (from a different company) had to cut to run the PEX plumbing Line. That's it Second. Superior Restoration Assessed the re-construction of damages. -drywall, carpet, tile, and asked for a deposit to show good faith. I went and got a quote for the tile from the Home Depot for tile of the square footage needed to be purchased and when I told the Project Manager Dave the Tile we selected and the price I would pay he jump the opportunity and purchased it and then charged me an addition $600.00 When I could have purchased it myself. Knowing better, at that point I simply stopped the work from them and cut my ties. When I questioned the Project Manager Dave about these charges, he simply said that's what you agreed to. I asked him since Superior Restoration did not perform labor for these charges to back pay me from what they billed me, and they did not. Then billed me $6,300.00 To dry my concrete floor with floor fans and patch drywall. That's it! No back-charges for work that was never performed. RIP OFF Company!! read more

Superior helped make a wildly stressful situation a whole lot easier on us and I'm super thankful for them. Our dishwasher was slowly leaking and we noticed water coming up from below the floorboards. We called a different company out to do the mitigation and Superior handled the reconstruction - I can't express how very different the two companies were and how much better our experience was with Superior. We started the project with Kevin who was always communicative and explained everything in a way that helped us understand the various steps. Josh was our Project Manager and he was great about calling with updates (when the flooring was ordered, when the toe kicks would be installed), and checking on progress and our satisfaction with the work. Melina helped walk us through the insurance check process (sending it off to the mortgage company, etc). Not once did anyone pressure us to do more work than was needed and they've been so patient and kind. I highly recommend them should you find yourself in a similar situation. read more

We worked with a few technicians throughout our project (Mainly Mark but also Andrew and Henry). We had water damage in our master bathroom and shower and this was no problem for them to handle. They separated the area from the rest of the house and made sure to clean everything up and remove/dry out every area that was affected. They also protected our stairs and flooring for when they had to haul things back and forth. They were all so professional and knowledgeable. They communicated with us every step of the way and made sure we were comfortable with certain things before making changes. Nobody is excited to have issues in their home that require fixing.. but these guys made sure to make it the easiest process possible for us and we so appreciate it. The people at Superior Restoration did an excellent job of repairing and restoring the water damage in our house. The quality of work performed exceeded our expectations. They even helped us work through the numerous issues with our insurance claim. I don't know if I'm allowed to use names, but I can't go without mentioning Jasmine, who was awesome! She shaped my perception of the company. She calmly and thoroughly walked me through the complexities associated with my claim. Her professionalism was unmatched. I felt much relief after my call with her. Overall, the employees of Superior Restoration were extremely professional helpful. However, I took away 2 stars for the contractors and their performance. There was a noticeable decline in professionalism compared with Superior Restoration employees, and the contractors who came to our house to work. The quality of work was excellent, but they really needed better supervision as they consistently arrived up to 3 hours late and some of them weren't very productive at times. Also, with the exception of the painter, who was there everyday, I seemed to get a different crew each day. When a portion of work was finished, like the drywall installation, there would be a 2-3 day delay before I would hear from anyone. At the time the work was being done, the Project Manager assigned to our house only communicated with us via text message. We never met him face to face. When he actually called, it was always to tell us that he didn't know when he was going to do the work and that he "might" call on Friday. Lastly, he didn't even come to inspect the work after it was complete. I also had to remind him to schedule a day move our furniture back in the space after the work had been done for 3 days! This kind of behavior reflects bad on Superior Restoration in my opinion. Our experience would have been better if someone with a company logo on his or her shirt showed up once or twice a day to introduce us to the workers, then update us and answer questions while the work was in progress or as an alternative, daily phone calls to assure us that Superior Restoration is aware of the work that is being done in its customer site. Better project management and/or supervision for contractors is sorely needed. But in spite of the shortcomings I've pointed out, we are still very satisfied with the results and would recommend Superior Restoration. I had a flooding mishap in my home a couple years-ago and we were referred to Superior Restoration by our plumber who did our initial repair. He seemed trustworthy. Having never experienced a home flood before, I panicked and worried about the mold and mildew affecting our air quality. In hindsight, I would have done my own home repairs because the cost that went into this was very extensive, with poor quality of work,and just as time consuming as if I had done it myself or sub-contracted it out. While they're very kind, friendly, sympathetic, and prompt and professional in the beginning, their initial representative is who assured us everything would be handled efficiently. It took a few weeks to handle everything and while they were very prompt in collecting funds for the repairs along the way, we had a few hiccups along the way that is still a direct reflection of Superior Restoration. My major complaint is that they killed our terrarium pets because they didn't make us aware to remove any pets while they did the texture repairs. I even asked the repair technician before I left my home if I needed to remove them and he said no it was fine. They apologized but nothing was compensated. The upside with Calling Superior Restoration: They're PROMPT and at your door within moments. They assure us they will handle everything start to finish. Clean up crew is fantastic and efficient! My repairs started immediately with a moisture detection documents for the insurance claim and immediately began with cutting out water damage areas (wall, ceiling, moldings) machines placed and damaged area separated from the home to start the drying process. The downside: inconsistent communication during the repair From their own contracted repair technicians and inconsistent communication from billing and collections before a job was completed If I recall correctly, repair technician was a different person from a different company; prep guy, texture and paint guy, molding repairs, floor repairs. What I would use from Superior are the following: Get a quote and see if it seems fair to you. Assess what is a priority on the repairs. For me, my priority was making sure all the moisture was gone from the floor and walls and no moisture could be detected after 3-4 days of these loud machines drying everything. I would definitely hire a professional clean up crew as Superior has on staff. In hindsight I wish I had stayed in a hotel as I learned after the fact that I'd be reimbursed from my home insurance company had I done so. From there, I wish I had subcontracted the other repairs and used my own repair company sources. They first cut out the damage to assess what is affected; they seal off the damaged area well with large plastic sheets, then place drying machines to remove as much water from the walls and flooring as possible; re sheet rock the repairs (they do not repair crown moldings!); paint repairs; re-texturing (in my opinion it was an inconsistent job and did not blend with my existing walls either); finally the flooring wood and carpet, and molding had to be repaired and our wooden floor could not be matched so the flooring had to be replaced and another major expense I learned later could be done much less than initially quoted. (I could have had a friend help me with the paint and sheetrock/texture as it would have saved me/insurance so much money.) Yes I went through my insurance, but they would have reimburse me just the same. The overall experience with Superior Restoration left me frustrated. Yes, they assess and comfort you with assurance and confidence that they'll handle everything from start to finish. At the end of the day, they're profiting greatly by these somewhat overpriced repairs. That is how I felt after it was all said and done. I wish I hadn't gotten so paranoid about the damage. It happened. And it could be repaired with time. If you are not as affected by the time consuming factors involved in a home repair and it is not a major floor (mine was an upstairs bathroom to my kitchen, but no damage to appliances) then I can suggest getting a quote/quotes and letting your insurance company know the costs assessed. Then, be reimburse from your insurance directly and contract out the repairs yourself to find reputable and qualified technicians. The quality of work I received did not make me happy after it was all said and done. I didn't even bother to take finished photos, but I do know we tried to match the texture better ourselves. They should have re-textured all the walls if that was the case. That, and explaining to our 9-yr-old why his pets died is not a favorable memory. read more

We are so thankful to have found Superior Restoration (through reading many reviews) because we ended up needing their help in 3 different situations this past year! YAY 2020! Fortunately in all 3 situations this company was professional, prompt, and great communicators so each restoration project went better than we expected. Jose was out to assess the situation the day we called and each time I found him to be extremely knowledgeable, helpful, professional, and also compassionate as I discovered many sentimental items that had been damaged by the flood. The office staff were excellent communicators and liaisons between our insurance company. And our rebuild contractor, Tyson, coordinated all the details and kept us informed through the whole process. After a flood in our house they came in and sold us on everything that was going to be done and literally none of what they said happened. Their supervisor told us they had experienced professionals for our cabinets but they were the same guys that did everything else and they told us they hadn't done cabinets much and you could tell. They start demo and didn't put the plastic dividers all the way to the floor so we had a layer of dust over our entire house. It was a nightmare. Then they said they don't do cleanup but we could talk to our insurance about clean up. They moved our brand new appliances, didn't cover them and then stacked things on top of them and on the sides. They of course told us before we signed the contract that all of this would be done carefully. I am never the long reviewer so I won't say everything but they had to come back three times and the work still was low quality. Cabinets never sanded before painting them so our cabinets are rough and ugly. They didn't prime the corner round so now the paint is chipping off. They left noticeable gaps between counters and appliances. So many promises and no results. We really felt duped by this company. The supervisor accused my wife of damaging work so we could have it done again. - so we could have the workers disrupt our daily lives to come back and do more bad work? He denied it but one of the workers texted me later to apologize for how rude Josh was to my wife. So then after all that we went above Josh to Brian hoping things would get better. Brian assured me that Josh wouldn't be coming back after how he treated my wife in her own home. The next call I get is Josh. Nothing ever got resolved and we were forced to pay the remainder of the terrible work because I was too trusting when I signed their contract that gave them all the leverage. They don't like you to look at the quality of their work and pretend they don't know what your talking about when you show them obviously poor quality. So if you don't care about quality work you'll probably like these guys. If you care at all about quality then go somewhere else. This was a nightmare for my wife after having our house destroyed and then to have these guys come make it worse and treat us like dirt, take all the insurance money and walk away. read more

My insurance paid over 26,000 dollars to restore my home after a water leak caused the need to have two bathrooms to be repaired. They used a third party contractor to do the work and Rob's company Belltown Construction was excellent. My issue is with Supervisor, I found there project managers to lack any communication skills and be very unconcerned with the customer. After My belongings, which were stored by them, were brought back into the home I found my safe missing. I had very important items in it some that could not be replaced. When I asked for a manager of the department responsible to contact me, I never as much as received a phone call, (how rude)! Needless to say they made a way to contact me when it was time to be paid. There were many other things that were troubling about the way I was treated but this by far was the worst. They are responsive, easy to communicate with, and worked hard to make sure we were satisfied and that the entire job was covered by insurance. Brian and Dave Strand were in constant communication with me. I was quite pleased with the entire process. On top of that, a few months after the work was completed, I had an insurance coverage dispute with a third party (unrelated to Superior), and Superior got involved and resolved the dispute, saving me over $1400! They had no obligation to do this, but I'm grateful that they did. I highly recommend this company! read more
