We had a pretty good kitchen flood from an refrigerator icemaker line. Water went under a wall, under cabinets and molding. Thought I was getting it dried out with box fans and towels. I called 5 Star to take moisture readings and found soaked toe kicks and cabinet supports. A lot of particle board and it acts like a sponge. 5 star removed the wet particle toe kick and put special under cabinet fans and a dehumidifier in place. It dried out in about four days. When dry 5 star came out and replaced the new toe kick and molding. Great communication with office staff and field staff. Highly recommend 5 Star and thier staff to anybody that has a in home water leak. Responsive and professional! read more

If you value your time, money, or home, I would advise against choosing this company. We were so grateful when we started the process speedily as we had a leak in our kitchen that ran under many cabinets- about a 20k job. The owner came over a Thanksgiving holiday weekend and we felt confident we chose a great company. However, once insurance monies came in, and we had the go for repairs, it was a different story. People began showing up whenever they pleased. I quickly realized I could not trust the people in charge to communicate effectively and I had to call and manage the protect more than I'd like. Painters came 3X because they didn't know wheat to paint , exterior had to be redone 2X, counters had had to be re caulked 3X, tile had to be regrouted 2X, AMONG MANY OTHER QUALITY OF WORK ISSUES. In addition to the work being sub par, they also sent multiple invoices with the wrong amount due, multiple times. Workers were late, didn't show up and of course we had to miss work, reschedule things and deal with these issues as they came. The person repairing tile also told me my grout was 20 years old when my home was built in 2016 and 7 years old. Of course when it was time to pay, they were super eager and uninterested in the finished product. When I felt we were due some sort of discount Matt Barkley offered us a Starbucks card, said it's not possible in the construction industry to give 100 percent and have the job done correctly in one try and said they could not do anything to make us happy or could offer us nothing to feel as if they appreciated us choosing them. This was ironic because he even came to see the mistakes and agreed they were not up to par and agreed if it was his home he wouldn't be content. To their positive, after MANY times coming back the end result was satisfactory. But, that delayed us about 1.5 months. (Initial drying started end of November, entire project ended mid March.) Save yourself time, effort, money, and choose a company who will make a customer for life out of you. This company dishonest, unorganized, and is is good at faking they care; they truly don't value your hard earned money, time, or home you've worked hard for. Five Star Restoration In Short: I would highly recommend Five Star Restoration for anyone needing a professional company to address Water Damage, Mold Remediation or Fire and Smoke Damage. During the final phase of our restoration I mentioned to a tile contractor how we had had such a positive outcome from a restoration company. There was total silence from the tile contractor. He then said, "We have never heard a customer who said anything positive about their experience with a restoration company. In fact, we have never felt comfortable working with a restoration company. You were very lucky. In fact, at no time in our experiences would a restoration company build you a temporary structure to keep your kitchen in order. Installing a temporary structure with supporting 2 x 2s to mount your countertop so you could continue to use your sink would be unheard of." That pretty much puts our experience in a nutshell. You need to read no further, you have the picture. The following is our story. Our Story: In late September 2022 we experienced a slab leak in the kitchen area of my home. I contacted a plumber and determined the source of the leak and fixed it. Not obvious to me was that water damage had occurred. The plumber suggested that I contact Five Star Restoration who evaluates the situation to determine the extent of the damage. Not having experienced a slab leak in my past I acted upon my plumber's recommendation and called Five Star. Within an hour we had the Five Star team at our doorstep with the necessary tools to survey the situation. Recommendations made and the work began. Five Star basically took what looked like a burdensome task and worked with us throughout the process from start to finish. We were like a baton in an Olympic relay race passed on from one team member to another as the team got us to the conclusion of the process. The following are the steps to that end. 1. The drying process with fans to dispel the water caused by the leak. 2. Removal of area damaged from 2x4s, dry wall, cabinets and flooring. 3. Provided structure for sink and countertop to temporarily keep us in use of our kitchen (I hadn't realized that a kitchen without a sink is NOT a kitchen). The crew made sure that we had a kitchen before the major repairs began. 4. An estimator began the process of putting together a "cost of repair" to return our kitchen to its original state and remove and replace damaged floor area (we have a continuous floor) to its original state. a. The estimate included ever part necessary to bring our home to its original state. b. We then introduced Five Star to our insurance adjuster and Five Star communicated with our insurance company for us from start to finish, totally. 5. We then met with the Supervisor of the project managers who sat down with us to determine what if anything we may wish to take on ourselves to incorporate upgrades to our original damaged cabinets and floors. a. As the story continues my wife had grasped the idea that, "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste." The result of which we took control of the cabinets and flooring by upgrading both and assuming the cost of the upgrades over the restoration as it had been. b. Adjustments were made to our contract to reflect our wishes and the restoration began. 6. We were assigned a Project manager who we worked with throughout the restoration making timely adjustments to timelines for various contractors to do the work needed to be completed. It did take longer than would have been required if we did not choose to do upgrades, the results were outstanding. During the process I inadvertently caused water to flow freely from the water line from wall to refrigerator when the job was nearly complete. Five Star however came to my rescue with those heavy-duty fans, filled my hallway with strategically placed airflow and saved me from additional water damage as a result of my dastardly deed. No complaining just good customer support. Our home was restored by the first of February. The People: throughout our association with the Five Star team and their contract workers we observed a great deal of respect and support from all we came in contact with. They individually explained their duties and responsibilities fully to ensure a positive outcome. A very professional and focused team was our experience. TL;DR I am a crabby old guy and 5 Star made me extremely happy with my kitchen. I'm a guy that has been around the trades. Over the last half a century I have gathered enough knowledge of construction to be extremely annoying to anyone I hire. 5 Star not only had patience with me throughout the entire process, they made me feel part of the process. I had a leak behind my cabinets from a previous owner's remodel. I called Canyon Lake Plumbing and they referred me to 5 Star. When Matt and Junior came to my house the first time, I was very defensive. Being from "back east", Californian is not my native language so I was both worried to offend and worried about being misunderstood. But from beginning to end, Matt and Junior made me feel understood. Things went wrong. As they always do. No construction project is perfect, but what differentiates good from great is the way the company deals with it. 5 Star is a great company. Fast, reliable, and responsible. I would text Junior with an issue and he would tell me that he had already planned for it and gave me the day it would be taken care of. The staff is incredible. From the guys that came for the remediation to Brandon coming in and making sure everything is done, they were not only professional but extremely nice and patient. After the remediation, a representative came by. He was super nice and interested in the project. He went through a little of the process that I was about to embark on and made me feel ok about the project. I found out later that it was one of the owners. That is some great attention to detail. I cant say enough about them, this is the second time I have used them for a bad water leak that required ripping out lots of flooring, walls, etc. Tyler, was on the job fast and harassed my insurances company to give us the approval to demo; Erica had to do the same dance to get the reconstruction started. Finally Jr. managed to restoration and got it done quick. It took my insurance company 3 months to process this claim (not kidding, 3 months for @Safeco to handle a water leak) and 5-star took 10 days start to finish. I had a water leak underneath my kitchen sink in my island and had a immense amount of damage. plumber Thomas from Peterson plumbing fixed the leak and the same day 5Star was out, assessing damage and coming up with a plan from Taylor to Ericka and Sandra in the office, made a smooth transition to going into reconstruction, they are all in one business from restoration to rebuild Junior. My project manager. Junior is very trustworthy knowledgeable and has an overall great gift of customer service. His communication on when and how things were going to be done was absolutely fantastic. Junior was always available for any questions I had and there were a lot he reached out to me via text or phone Call and kept me in the loop during entire process. Junior himself deserves a five star rating for having to deal with me. To say I am over highly satisfied with the job they did is understatement, I have other plans to do other household improvements and I will be using them for all of them that I need. Tony Vazqueq from Five Star responded to my call late last Friday afternoon (5/31)..He had a quote for me by 9 pm that evening and arrived on Sunday morning with fans and dehumidifiers. On Monday he came with Daniel and George and they further assessed the damage (flooring, baseboard and some walls) from a leaky water pipe). They followed the leak and tore up all the damaged materials. The water damage was substantial. They were very respectful of all the furniture and belongings that had to be moved and covered. Tony checked each day to see how the drying out process was proceeding. Today (6/6), everything is now dry and they removed all their equipment and protective coverings. I'm now ready to work with their department that takes care of flooring. I can't praise them enough. I give Five Star 10 stars for service, quality and value. I would never recommend 5 Star to someone! 5 Star Restoration took a year to restore my 950 square foot condo, and it still isn't completed! I was out of my condo for 5 months over Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Year's Eve waiting for 5 Star to work on my condo. I finally had to tell them that my insurance company would not pay for anymore housing, and that they had to finish the repairs. From what my neighbors say and from what I saw, they didn't work on my condo until the week before I came home. Then, the work was still not done. Beware of lies! I was told at one point that my cabinets were repaired and they weren't. The had just shoved the old ones back into my kitchen and tried to hide the fact by making a few minor repairs. I had to have them redo my cabinets multiple times because they lied. Even now my cabinet doors do not close all the way. As for the paint job, what a disaster! They painted my whole condo in semi gloss even after I specifically told them that I did not want it! After repainting my condo several times, they got sloppy and painted over nails and picture frame hangers and curtain rod brackets and the cord concealer for my tv cord!! Un real! What's more, the person who installed my brand new sink, threw away all of the accessories with the box. 5 Star still hasn't replaced them all!! Currently I am waiting for 5 Star to fix the cabinets and finish their job! I didn't hear from anyone again this week even though I was told that I was on "the list."! I have even paid all of the invoices except for the $1,000 that gets paid when the job is finished. I am very unhappy with 5 star, and I would never recommend them to someone else! read more

The work was amazing. My bathroom came out so beautiful. They even came back and fixed something that we messed up. There was some communication issues like they were supposed to give a follow up call to confirm when they were coming out and would forget and then someone would just show up at our house unannounced. There was also a little confusion with accounting with them not giving us credit for items we purchased ourselves so they were trying to charge more than they should have and the lady Sandy was a bit rude about it but Jr., Ceaser and the other lady, Erica were all great and we got everything sorted. Albert and Danny did a great job containing our house from contaminants when they had to cut through our ceiling to remove wet dry wall after the big storm in December. This was very important due to serious lung problems. I recommend them highly because you will appreciate that they are very responsive, friendly and knowledgeable. If I can leave, absolutely no stars, I would leave no stars. I am leaving a review for those who are trying to do their research before going with a company. I did give them a second chance before choosing to go with a different company, and I completely regret my decision. I was utterly disappointed. To start off I am extremely thankful that I was able to meet Jr who did a wonderful job for the most part. Please anyone who is reading this do not go with this company. They are terrible and I mean a I truly horrible. My original project manager was fired due to the fact he was a horrible person, trying to swindle people out of their money. Things that were supposed to be covered by insurance he tried convincing me to go pick up. Matt tried to reassure me that this project manager had good intentions and told me I was wrong and it's just a miss understanding. In the end with him being fired obviously I was not wrong and it wasn't even my complaint that got him fired their was a list of complaints. This job took more than a half a year for Two very small restrooms. Jr did end up, stepping in which I wanted to give him a shot but as far as his workers, it was completely half assed and rushed. I was trying to be understanding that they wanted to finish the job because it was taking forever due to changing of staff, but do not rush if you are going to ruin everything. While they were rushing they ended up, installing my angle, stop incorrectly and damaged the brand new vanity that was just installed as seen in the picture. Not only was the vanity damaged water was falling from my upstairs bathroom to my downstairs. Bathroom damaging absolutely all the work they had just finished doing. They're finished project of my restrooms, there is bubbles everywhere and chunky spots due to the fact again rushing. They painted on almost every fixture that they installed. Not to mention painted on my window shutters which are not cheap. Out of professionalism they should've done it right the first time so they would not have to go back over again and again, which is what they have been doing this whole time. This company is completely not professional seem to nice at the start. The name five star should resonate, but it does not. Coincidentally a family member as well went with this company and chose the smarter path to not work with them ended up, firing them for the very purpose I was about to which was the first project manager. Again they do have a handful of good workers such as Erica and Jr, but past that absolutely horrid. Be smart second chances aren't always the smartest choice when it comes to your house your foundation that you are going to be living in and pay for. read more

Had some water damage from an old hot water heater in my garage that had damaged some of the dry wall leading from the garage into the house. Tony came out right away from Fire Star Restoration and assessed the damage and explained the process of removing the impacted drywall and any insulation and also took readings to determine if water had infiltrated the inner walls of the house (which thankfully had not happened). Set up a plastic partition around the affected area and setup fans and a dehumidifier to dry out the area. Four days later measurements were taken and no further impact and the walls were dry, then the equipment and partition were removed. Just need to install new dry wall and will be ready for my replacement water heater to be installed. Fantastic service provided by Tony and his team. All of my questions and concerns were answered and Tony always gave me advanced notice of his arrival and was right on time.
