FRSR did an amazing brick patio for us almost 10 years ago. It still looks amazing! We absolutely love it! They also did the fire pit, planter's bed and pergola seen in the pictures. All of it! More recently they helped us out big time after roofers damaged our fire pit. They were able to track down the matching stone and quickly repair it. Janet was lovely to work with, super friendly and responsive. And Eric went out of his way to find the stone and complete even this smaller project for us. Great team! We will very happily hire FRSR for another project! They are competent, friendly and timely. Their costs are just right. And their work is beautiful! I have revised my review and it is not a positive one. I am going to file a BBB complaint as well. I had to hire another Landscaping Contractor to fix the issues left behind regarding the SOD/Sprinkler system rezoning/Sprinkler head installation (Front yard). FRSR made promises that were put in the estimate I received and things sounded great--but many of them were not honored after they left. Communication was spotty at best, and they did not respond to my concerns after completing the job. The project scope required a new wireless sprinkler system which was never installed. Additionally, They never called to confirm I was happy when they left. They were supposed to come out and inspect and test the sprinkler system since it was re-zoned for the front yard. This never happened. They never returned to finish performing the initial spring sprinkler start-up routine to ensure all the zones and sprinkler heads were set up and working properly. As a result, many areas of my lawn died and I had to go with another Landscaping company to resolve the issues with sprinkler heads (some missing parts). This cost me thousands of dollars. Any attempt to get them to fix the issues and install the wireless sprinkler controller was met with excuses or no return phone calls. I feel they really do not care about their customers since they never contacted me or performed any follow-up after they got their final payment. This might be a tactic they use to avoid accountability. Their contract is airtight in their favor, so don't expect them to honor anything not explicitly written. Unprofessional, Dishonest, and Frustrating. I wish I had read the reviews before hiring FRSR. From the start, they made verbal promises that sounded great--but none of them were honored. I'm not the best at writing reviews, but I wanted to share my experience here. In 2022, I invested a significant amount of money in landscaping services with this company. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend them. The owner's attitude was quite unpleasant when he showed up to our house no thank you for choosing us etc a normal business would do. To make matters worse, two years later, I have to redo everything they had done. They didn't even put a weed barrier down. The fire place concrete has cracked, the lights out in the yard don't work pry because all the wires are dangerously exposed and the key to turn on the fireplace is very hard sometimes cant get it to turn. . This was truly the worst service I have ever encountered. They like to place the blame on the customer/Client then take accountability. Probably the worst experience we have had with a contractor, ever. Do not believe their lies, and they will lie to you over and over. Do not ignore the bad reviews. Do not do business with them. They did work for us in March and we are still having issues with workmanship, puddling on concrete they poured, uneven steps, sod that has died throughout the year. They will not call you back. FRSR completed our project for our backyard with fire pit, kitchen area, & turf covered pet area. Added to that are the beautiful trees and other landscaping they installed. The project went as smooth as it could. They took care of everything from the HOA submission to the irrigation mapping and watering I needed to set up for the system in place. They were very responsive and returned every request/question quickly. We felt like we got much more value than we could have imagined. We feel like we got more than we paid for in the end. Really a love hate relationship with these guys lol I LOVE my yard (love) and believe I have the best yard on my block. The project took a long time, however our lead guy Leo- made the biggest difference in the outcome of our yard, he made suggestions that completely changed our entire plan and they were able to roll with the punches an accommodate. They were also the most cost effective in comparison to others we looked into Matt took the time to give us a thorough and detailed plan. If you need a firepit, design, or concrete these are your guys. We looked at Jose's and have seen yards by them and feel that the quality of our work is truly done with patience, care, and worth the wait. read more

This is a terrible company - I do NOT recommend them. Eric is extremely rude, unprofessional and unreliable. The work is horrible and we are having to pay another company to have it fixed. We chose them because after our 2 consultation meetings with Matt, he provided a nice plan and detailed quote and answered our questions. Don't be fooled! Now I am reading this is not the first time they have done this bait and switch. That was where the good experience ended. As soon as we paid the deposit, Matt disappeared and refused to return our calls- and we got Eric who is the worst person to try to work with. He is insulting- and literally walked away from me when he saw me heading his way. They made so many errors while attempting to follow the plan- they couldn't even follow the scale accurately and insulted me when I corrected him. They promised they could provide the concrete patio we wanted- and it looks terrible. It is bubbled with uneven cuts. The 2 steps down from our existing patio are different heights and different depths. The concrete is so rough it would cut bare feet or dog paws. They incorrectly installed a side breeze pad and then tried to charge us extra for it. They installed "planting beds" that are piles of dirt dug up and weed fabric with a thin layer of mulch- you can't plant in mulch! They also chopped our gate so short that it looks ridiculous - and they scratched/damaged the hinge. Eric immediately got annoyed that I complained- and snapped at me saying they would fix it so I didn't need to mention it. Needless to say, it's not fixed. When we refused to pay more for items, they ghosted us. They refuse to come back or talk to us unless we pay them more. Horrible!! read more

Oh, Janet. You were well aware, and I have all of the receipts in my email. You were very kind and apologetic about all of the delays, and miscommunications, etc, etc and I never once blamed you for any of it but please don't get on here and say you weren't aware of any of it. Not only were there weeks of delays without communication there was also the issue of having to have our siding repainted because of the concrete mess left by your crews. Your crews did repaint the siding however there is still concrete on a window I can go photograph for you if you'd like. I can also post screenshots of emails. All you had to do was post an apology response, or ignore the yelp review. Now I need to be sure Heather and Shawn as well as my direct neighbors have left reviews of their experiences because both of their delays and communication issues were FAR worse than ours and they have receipts as well. I was kind to you during this process because none of this was your fault, but please don't mistake that kindness. Edited to add: Janet, my dear, it seems like FRSR's business model might involve a bait-and-switch tactic, according to some reviews I've just read. It appears that Matt Walker initially presented himself as a representative of RPK (and maybe a few others) Landscape and announced he was leaving FRSR to start his own business. He said he was working out details of his LLC (much like another reviewer states he told them), and after we signed a contract with him he suddenly returned to FRSR. Very curious, Janet. This took place with us in May of 2021 and it seems that several other customers, including Nicole, Steve, and KC have been told a similar story at different times... even different years! Even though we did go back and forth with him on the design, we signed an agreement this summer for an "8 day project." After that agreement, we found out that he sold his company to this one. He even lied to us and told us that this was his LLC which wasn't the case. They claimed that they were waiting on a permit but you can fact check this through the City of Denver's portal and the last permit requested was when they built our house 5 years ago. After 100 days on inaction, we cancelled the contract. They refused to give us our deposit back because of the ZERO hours of work they have done. We paid for them to level our backyard so we could put a swing set for our 18 month old grand-child. When we first took their quote, they sent us a drawing showing wall heights and dimensions. My wife and I chose them over others because of price and timing. Instead of using a bobcat or machine to cut down and level the slope in the yard, they had workers cutting with shovels and hoes. Bottom line was, they failed to go deep enough so the sidewalls were higher and the side that was supposed to be 100% flat also had a wall too. Months later we were still trying to get them to fulfill their promise. They wanted to charge us for adding 2 truckloads of dirt to level the area instead of cutting down as quoted. When we said no, they kept stalling and finally quit communicating with us. I would never recommend this company to anyone! read more

Is there less than one star an option? It should be!!! I am angry at the fact I have to pick at minimum one to just submit this. I contracted with this company after receiving a great review from a friend. Turns out it was all smoke and mirrors. As mentioned, back in Feb I contracted with them for what was to be three week project - 1: an outdoor BBQ and 2: a patio awning. It is now May, almost June as I write this and I have only a partial project. I admit I have added a few change orders but nothing more than 2 maybe 3 weeks. Take that from 17 weeks and it leave us with 14 weeks over due. Their communication is none existent and have received excuse after excuse. I have made over 15 calls requesting for the owner to contact me and the only person I reach is the receptionist to whom I have apologized to for my now complete loss of patience. Everything is fine, so long as everything is fine. We experienced cracking of the patio overlay just three months after the work was finished. Getting FRSR to come out and look at and then fix the problem took so long, that it was then much more extensive. They created a patch fix which looked bad but I would have accepted that if it fixed the problem. It did not. It cracked again almost immediately. After a lot of fuss they agreed to come out and put lines through the overlay to create room for it to move. They did so, but they didn't deal with any of the cracks that had erupted or seal the new lines. It looks worse than ever, and FRSR are now ignoring all communication. I would not recommend this company: if anything goes wrong, they will not be there to help you. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I am sooooo sad I did not check the ratings and comments before signing the contract. My awful experience with FRSR just happened so they are not getting any better....look at all the terrible reviews that go back years and years! The comments are still relevant as of today's projects. They actually pulled themselves off this job, then kept my deposit, and I believe I dodged a bullet. I spent hours digging up the sprinkler system and tree roots so his crew would not damage them. I told their crew NOT to cut the roots, they cut them anyways and then refused to fess up on which of the 3 crew workers had done it. (then act shocked when I am angry) They claim they left for their "Safety" but never were they in any danger and even in Eric's own words were never threatened. I don't even know Spanish enough to, in Eric's words, "berate them and yell at them the entire time they were there." Not sure how that can happen when I don't even speak their language! I was trying to go through the proper channels about my dissatisfaction with the crews haphazard work, and all I got was Janet playing go-between. Eric blames you, the homeowner, for their mistakes and doesn't like when you call them out on improper procedures. It does not surprise me that people have their patios sink, concrete crack etc. They cut corners and do not use the proper underlayment materials even when they charge for it in your contract. Eric won't call or talk with you even if you continually ask. Janet tells you the crew understands English and that's why Eric can't come out to the job site, but it's a lie. They can't even talk in complete sentences...not even Leo the foreman. They were cutting corners, failing to measure, using the wrong materials, and overlapping steps just trying to get the job done in record time...That's a recipe for disaster. They were going to use breeze as the base to level out the flagstone patio area....our contract and standard operating procedures for flagstone install calls for using Road Base (Decomposed Gravel), not breeze. They were trying to frame up and pour a concrete base when our electrician had not been out yet to close up a trench to run wires through that runs directly through the hot tub pad. I tried over and over again to get Janet to have Eric call. He won't. I had to babysit the crew because they were so haphazardly working on the project. They don't care. They want your money. They don't care about your happiness and didn't even apologize for cutting the tree roots...mind you I spent over a thousand dollars with a TREE expert to prep the tree for the trauma the patio was going to inflict on it. It certainly did not need it's tree roots at its water line cut to stress out the tree even more. Run as fast as you can. I certainly wish I had. I failed to check the reviews prior to signing. Matt (the designer) was great but it seems that is their "fish bait" to get you to sign the contract. And I was also confused on why when you call Matt he has a different company name on his voice mail...something is fishy. I wish I knew what it was behind those different company names. So glad I'm out early enough not to experience the issues the other commenters have had. They did me a favor by pulling off the job. Save your money, stress and time of having to deal with FRSR. Many excuses: cannot get bulbs (failed to order bulbs), its too cold, its too wet, its too hot, checking with the nursery. This company is a complete fraud that stole my deposit despite never doing a single hour of work!! I was tricked by a guy name Matt Walker. He did a bait and switch and put me on the FRSR contact by saying "it was his LLC." I contracted with them for $15k+ in landscaping work that included retaining walls, patio, fire pit and fencing. I signed my contract on June 23 and the project was to begin on July 19 and take up to 8 days total. He also collected a deposit at the time. They never showed up and they never provided a start date. I patiently worked with them and their office manager, Janet McMillin, but all she ever did was say they would get back to me. Finally, on Sept 7 I told them to cancel the project and refund my money. More than a month later, they still refuse to refund the deposit or even respond. To be clear, not a single bit of work was ever done and it is now Oct 15. They didn't even kick around a pile of dirt. WARNING, everything bad you've read about these guys is true. I had asked them about some negative reviews and they blamed it on a couple disgruntled employees. LIES. Against my gut feeling I gave them a deposit in good faith to execute the contract for a $20,000 plus project to be started and substantially complete the first wek .......last October. delayed two weeks, then one month then again the week of thanks giving. Now too late to pour concrete and I stopped the project and asked for a refund. Their estimator MATT stated they had spent time estimating the project so we agreed to start first thing in April. I received an email in February from Janet to start on April 1 then another stating March 25. We contacted Matt again and signed a new contract with projected start and finish dates. Storm moved date back out to April 1. Then received call by Janet to move out Start date again "a few days". Then another call to follow up on an email I never received to again move out work to April 16 a Friday with 1/2 down payment do at start. I assured them I would cancel and consider this a breach of the contract. Janet talked to Eric, the owner and they made arrangements to start now on Monday April 8. I decided that weekend to cancel as after again reading so many bad reviews that this was a trend. Now waiting on return of deposit three weeks later and no return of calls or emails. I would really be hard pressed to find a worse company than this. So much of what others say here is true, that I hate to be repetitive, but it's almost unfathomable to think of a worse company than FRSR. From incredibly poor communications, to flat-out lying, there were plenty of red flags along the way. Yet we pushed through to try and get the work done. They're now about 3/4 of the way through the project and the work is terrible. The concrete is cracking, the stone work is amateur and they're accepted no responsibility for anything along the way. No matter what they tell you, please go with another option for your project. The entire experience with these guys has been disastrous. DO NOT RECOMMEND. We have been trying to reach them to obtain the simple color code used in the patio they poured less than a year ago because I had to hire another company to fix the patio. We have called 4 times and got the answering service each time. We called May 12th, May 18th, (two different times and were put on hold and eventually hung up). Called later in the day and finally got the answering service to leave FRSR a message stating all we are needing is the color code they used on our patio. As of May 20th 5:24 we have no response to our color code question but Adam the sales person responded to my negative rating on Yelp. We signed a contract that stated our payments would be by credit card and listed the payment dates and amounts. When it came time to pay via credit card they did not want to accept credit card and wanted cash or check. In addition to the horrible job they did for $27,000 the pergola they built covered the top quarter of my windows. Why would anyone want to look at boards from inside their home? Not happy at all. Let me start by saying that Matt was a great sales guy. He worked with me to get a landscape design that we loved. He was responsive and affordable. That's where the love ended. The superintendent never had the plans or the contract and was making stuff up as they went. I had to correct something every single day to the point that I finally got frustrated and called the owner. What a complete jerk. Never in my professional career has anyone been more disrespectful or rude. He refused to fix the issues and assured me his guys were right. The next day they laid our concrete grass border. Hundreds of feet wrong. They dug it up and moved pieces and tried to patch it together when I showed them the plan. Matt came back to try and resolve things. Matts comment was, "I can't defend FRSR right now, we f'ed this up." Our down spouts flood the neighbors which I have to pay to resolve. The grade was 30 degrees off level which they promised me level. The paver patio was laid the wrong shape. There was an unaccounted for 30" drop from the paver to the ground, weird they wanted a change order and another 3k to add steps. The sprinklers didn't cover the grass area. The sprinkler heads were wrong and not the kind I requested. They forgot about two planter areas we wanted. The behaved isn't enough to cover the gravel areas. The weed border is missing under the rocks. At on point I had explained what the drainage from the house was to do, and the super told me I didn't know what a French drain was. We looked it up on my phone and I read him the wiki page. He said... huh, well that's one idea I guess. So maybe I'm a difficult yet customer, maybe not. But I fired them, asked them not to come back and refund the stuff that wasn't done. Nope. We're in litigation now trying to get my money back. They took 10k from me and did no work for it. It's even itemized on the contract!!! Couple other notes. I read reviews and asked for recommendations before going with them. There are a bunch of 1 start reviews on Google. Do yourself a favor and run the other way! I would give them zero stars if I could. The WORST people to deal with. The sales guy was extremely unorganized, very slow to respond and then apparently didn't make the updates we had requested resulting in the wrong kind of fence getting put in - which they then tried to blame on us, even though I had everything in writing. They're also on the "approved" listed of landscapers for our community but knew NOTHING about the yard requirements, causing us to keep having to go back and redo stuff based on our community approval. They not only poured the patio the day of a predicted hail storm (you can guess how that turned out), but it had the worst downslope of any concrete pour I have ever seen. All of our neighbors were asking why it slanted downwards. They tried to defend it. My patio chairs should not wobble, I should not feel like I'm falling backwards while sitting down. The slope is terrible. To top it all off, they were supposed to start the week of May 27th, then they moved it to June 17th, then June 18th. On June 25th and they claimed they'd be done by the end of the week, by June 28th. They laid our turf on the 27th, only to finish it and notice that they had laid TWO DIFFERENT KINDS. Then had to have it evaluated and come back the next week it and supposedly fix the concrete. On July 2nd, they CLAIMED (had not yet heard our gripes about the concrete they failed to fix and the ugly seam down the middle of the turf) they were done, So, 14 days after project start. One guy told us up to 6 days for the project, one told us 4 days. When I complained about the massive delay they were causing us by putting in the wrong fence and the extremely delayed start, they told me that they actually "bumped us up into the schedule" and that we weren't supposed to even be scheduled until August so "they're actually ahead of schedule". That is a COMPLETE and TOTAL lie. Every piece of documentation I have shows that. If I had ever heard the word "August" come out of their mouth I would have went with someone else, since we were planning this in APRIL. The owner is gigantic asshole and is refusing to compensate us a dime for anything. The lost time, the wrong fence, etc. They offered to change the fence (at a higher cost of course), but in the essence of time, we opted to keep what they put in. I planned on having a fenced in yard A MONTH AGO. No apologies, no care or concern for their client. It's now July 10th and we have a very noticeable seam running down the middle of the turf and STILL have a terrible looking/terribly laid concrete patio & step. At this point I completely distrust their work and work ethic and am concerned that anything in my yard will actually even last. I am not even remotely convinced they know what they're doing. I will happily amend this post if they come to their senses and offer some compensation for their shitty work, but I won't hold my breath. read more

Is it now hundreds of bad reviews? And that is just Yelp. A lot of people have put a lot of work into warning future victims. Please respect what they have to say. I read many of them and the terrible reviews are very well deserved in my opinion. None were exaggerated. If anything they were too polite. Have you ever seen a company in any business with this many bad reviews? Please don't even consider working with them. I could write a novel about how many ways they have screwed up my project. But, I won't repeat what others have already said well. But just a couple of quick points: 1) I am now 153 days beyond the promised completion date and have lost an entire season. With no end in sight! 2) Their work is just sloppy and it will likely cost me $ thousands down the road as their messes become more obvious failures. 3) Their owner Eric and Matt their sales guy are starting to resort to personal insults now. I suppose to provoke me. It shows their true lack of character and ethics. What a way to run a business. So, if you think what I did, that they are bad but you can manage them. Please reconsider!!!! We should never work with unethical, untrained, sloppy craftsmen like these guys. I hire a lot of contractors. Some have been better than others but none have ever come close to being as bad as these guys. How they get seemingly nice people like Denise and Janet to work for them is a mystery. Of course I am on my 3rd project manager already. I guess that says something. Don't under any circumstances consider working with this group. Any promises they make are complete lies. They can be convincing but that probably comes from all the practice they have at being dishonest with their customers. read more

I highly recommend FRSR. My wife and I just moved into a new build and needed a complete backyard landscape with a walk way. FRSR was very helpful, they listened to our wants and came up with a plan that fully met our expectations. FRSR was very good at communication during the whole process and when the project was completed they went over the irrigation system and all the plants/trees with us. We were impressed with FRSR in the beginning. Matt was great to work with and Adam, the project manager was helpful. Our project was to have been started in August 2017 but we kept getting delay after delay (weather, crews leaving, etc). They finally did the job in October, finishing up at the end of the month. We expressed concerns about the plant warranty and received an email that plants would be guaranteed until Mother's Day, 2018. Several of the bushes were not showing signs of growing at the beginning of May so we contacted Adam expressing our concern. He stated that many of the plants don't bloom by Mother's Day. We still wanted to be on record about those. Adam finally stopped by at the end of May and agreed that some of the bushes needed replaced. To date, we are still waiting and no one returns our phone calls or emails about when we can expect this to take place. We also have issues with the sprinkler system and some of the drainage which have not been addressed. As others have stated, I would not do business with FRSR!!!! read more

WARNING: if you plan to spend your hard earned money with FRSR, LLC from Erie Colorado, think twice. We invested $11,000.00 with them late last year for a patio extension with stamped concrete. We originally thought a Trex deck was the way to go but when the salesperson showed us photos of stamped concrete patios we decided to go with stamped concrete. Well our finished patio does not resemble any of the photos. When we complained to the salesperson all we got was an apology. We contacted the owner by email and phone on numerous occasions but he has ignored our request for an onsite meeting to review the project. read more

I was not a client of FRSR, but a subcontractor. After performing some work for this company and issuing invoices I am still owed $650. I have tried several times to contact the owner to secure payment. Two times I thought we had come to an agreement and that he would pay the remaining balance, but nothing has become of it. FRSR contacted me last year to provide engineering services for a few small projects such as covered patios and decks. After completion of each I issued invoices for $400 each. Their stance was that I was to contact the homeowner directly for payment. I tried to tell them that is not how this works. One doesn't go to a checkout stand with a cart full of groceries and say that someone else will pay for them. I received no response, so as silence very often implies consent, I assumed that we had come to an understanding. I thought at the very least they would have passed along my invoices to the homeowners since they had already developed those relationships. After several weeks without any communication from FRSR I again contacted them via email about the remaining balance. I did receive a partial payment of $550. I thought this very odd since every invoice was for $400. The only two reason I can see for the unusual amount is that it was an intentional underpayment, or carelessness. I contacted FRSR again explaining my confusion and received no response. After giving it some more time in case they were simply overly busy, I once again emailed FRSR and received no response. As I work in the same building I posted a statement of the open balances on their door. No response. I was finally able to track the owner down at one of the few times he was actually in the office. I introduced myself and explained the situation. More correctly I TRIED to explain the situation. I could barely get a word into the conversation as he was so rude, combative, and disrespectful. He finally said that he would write me a check the following week as the last project was starting the following Monday. That was more than three weeks ago and I still have not received payment. I should have done my research before I accepted them as a client. Most of the reviews I've read on Google and Yelp describe their work as less than desirable. EVERY review that mentions an interaction with the owner describes it as repugnant. They all describe him as arrogant, disrespectful, and rude. And that was exactly the case with my brief encounter. I will never do business with them again or refer anyone to their company. I hope to eventually receive full payment for services rendered but I won't hold my breath. read more
