I think this is the best Frothy Monkey location because it is such a big space! Their lattes (at all locations) are some of my favorite, especially that monkey mocha (which includes banana syrup). The food is very good here and they have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. read more

We loved the frothy monkey! I was visiting Nashville and a friend recommended it to me and I am so happy that she did. Upon my arrival the first thing that you notice is the parking. There aren't very many spaces but I was able to snag a park and then there is some street parking. Visually the place is gorgeous. I love the exposed brick + wood and black it gives the place a edgy warm feel! The bathroom was by far my favorite. They have this beautiful tile and a huge farm house sink and it smelled really nice too + extremely clean. Although it is a coffee shop they also serve food. So you order at the counter take a number and they bring your food out. I ordered the biscuits and gravy, and the 2 egg breakfast as well as their rosemary latte and everything was delicious. I paid about $20 for everything. I want to rave about their apple juice it's absolutely delicious. The place has a lot of light too. The staff was great as well. Overall great place and I would go back. read more

I love checking out the different Frothy Monkey locations around Nashville, because each one is so different. This one was very large, with plenty of seating. I found a small along the side of the building, but there was also plenty of street parking. After walking in I was greeted and told the hostess I was just there to work and drink coffee. She gave me a nice spot along the bar. Unfortunately their outlets in the bar were not working. But I was able to work for about an hour or so and had the best golden monkey latte, aka a tumeric latte. This is a great place to work solo, as I noticed several other people doing the same. read more

I used to come here a lot but lately the service has sucked. Went in to get seated and we were pointed to seat at a table by the door. It's 20° out and the sun was beaming in our eyes so we asked to move and she just said to sit wherever has place mats. We sat, no one came for a bit then some girl game and gave us water and when said thank you she just said "yea.." in a snarky tone. She said someone else was going to be our server because she was off which is fine but no one came, they were out of a lot of stuff so we left. Overall, just a dumb experience. If you want Frothy Monkey just go to the 12th South location, this one sucks. Server was Lauren. read more

In the past, I never had a great experience here which is unfortunate considering it's walking distance from my house. Turns out I just wasn't ordering the right things. I went here on Saturday and loved it so much I came back on Sunday! Start with the Havana coffee- you will NOT regret it. I dream about this coffee every morning. The homemade pop part was great to start with but as far as food, the AVO toast and monte Cristo are to die for!!! Skip on the drip coffee and california breakfast. read more

This is a very trendy place. We arrived around 9 am for breakfast and it was busy but not crazy. There was no line at the counter to order. By the time the last person in our party arrived, the line had grown quite a bit. Our coffee was out pretty quick, but the food took about 20-30 min. We didn't mind. I had the peanut butter latte and it was amazing! My husband's coffee was good also. Coffee refills are 75 cents. The food was very good! I had the California and tasted the yogurt parfait and the loaded biscuits and gravy. Everything very tasty! I would probably want to try out another place in the area before coming back but I wouldn't object, especially with their early opening hours! read more

Cute coffee shop! Love how, in addition to caffeinated creations, it also serves a full menu and pastries baked in-house. I got the Royale sandwich, adding bacon and subbing the chips and salsa for herb-roasted potatoes. It was tasty and surprisingly filling although I wished they had used a lighter hand for the basil mayo. I also ordered the seasonal pumpkin spice cake for dessert. Although delicious, I thought the texture was a little odd, as it was denser and spongier than I expected. read more

Really cool spot with great variety of options including breakfast and lunch items as well as coffee and cocktails. The salad with bacon ranch was my favorite item and very large. Next time, I would get the smaller salad. I will say the cheese grits were not very cheesy or flavorful, so I would not recommend them. They have a variety of great coffee drinks and seasonal options. read more

Outstanding establishment with the musical ambiance to soothe. Had a burger and s'mores coffee...talk about heaven. I'm not entirely new to Nashville but this was my first experience at Frothy Monkey. Rumors said it was pretty trendy and not worth the hype but I'd be back! Guys! This location is like a hidden little gem. We came late on a weeknight though, so I guess that's not a gage of how busy they are. I love the building and style decor, it's rustic, and simple. The waitstaff are wonderful, super helpful, kind, and not snobby. Exactly what you hope for, tip them big! I ended up with the veggie burger that came with some potatoes. My husband got their version of a club sandwich with chips and salsa. The burger was good, but not mind-altering like I had hoped. I was a little disappointed. I ended up switching with my husband half way through, because he's the best. His sandwich was so yummy! I even think I preferred his chips and salsa to these potatoes. Not my jam. Drink speak: my husband got a beer and he said it was good. I got a rose b/c they were out of the whatever sparking something on TAP that I was super interested in - HUGE BUMMER. Mine was just okay. Again, nothing to write home about. I think if I came again, I would maybe come when it's busier and try some other things, perhaps have a completely different experience. Overall I would recommend it b/c it was so cute and there's a bunch of neat out of the ordinary things nearby. A little desolate it felt like! Eh yeah, sorry not sure if any of this is helpful. It is what it is. read more

A turd with gold is still a turd. That's what I thought of when eating their burger. Dry, overcooked, unseasoned, cow pattie. The pimento cheese and toppings could not save it. My name is Mandy. And I don't drink coffee. So you can understand why a trip to a coffee house was not high on my list. But where in the heck have I been on this one? Frothy Monkey has it ALL. We went to the location in the Nations. It is new and large. On a mid week afternoon it was packed. Lots of millennials on their computers, seeming to be working whilst sipping. It was late afternoon so we thought we would just get a snack. We had the house made salsa and chips. We devoured that, so we ordered their unique chicken salad on artisan sourdough bread. I try to avoid bread.. but I have to say this was truly exceptional. Not something I think I have ever said about sliced bread. But believe it. And the chicken salad was right up my alley. Minimal mayo, letting the flavors do the shining. Hubby got a Belle Meade bourbon and enjoyed reviewing their cocktail list. I got a hot chocolate that was divine. Definitely not the Swiss Miss variety! I'm so glad to know the bigger picture on Frothy Monkey now. We shall return! One negative: we had to circle for nearly 10 minutes to find a parking space. We almost gave up. This development features many businesses and not enough spaces to go around. read more

Have always enjoyed coffee and pastries here. Decided to try them out for breakfast. How very disappointing! As always, staff and service were great. Small caveat, if you're parking in the Handicapped area and come up the ramp to the side entrance, a sign telling you to go around up and downstairs to the front entrance is NOT welcoming! Ordered two teas. They took forever to get there and we're overstepped, and thus bitter. Ordered two breakfasts. Very long wait to get there. Eggs were over cooked and rubbery, despite ordering them very soft. They took mine back and redid it as scrambled - better but still overcooked. While I do recommend them for coffee and pastries, I definitely do NOT recommend them for breakfast. read more

Way more then just a coffee shop. Great small local business and small restaurant/ cafe. Friendly staff and a good menu selection . It would be nice if they had more of a order and sit down to enjoy area though as it feels to formal and less casual of a coffee shop environment where you have to sit down and formally order an item. Would be nice to have order at the counter and sit where you want verses playing the server game where you feel trapped to go through the motions. read more

Slow service and our food was cold when it came out. Very unfortunate since I've heard such great things over the years.

This location of frothy monkey is a decent spot to grab a bite and a coffee or alcoholic drink but the service leaves much to be desired. I used to come here a lot but haven't been back in months because of two encounters with rude staff. On the last occasion, they served me clearly burnt food. Like so burnt that I couldn't even bite into it because it was so hard, black and dried out. I tried to take a couple bites around the burnt parts and decided it was just not edible so I kindly sent it back, didn't ask for anything else and just asked that it please be taken off my bill. The server said they couldn't remove it from my bill, they could only bring me a replacement. But... I didn't want a replacement meal because I had to leave soon and was just grossed out from the dried out burnt meal I was just served. We literally went back and forth with the server for 10min and he REFUSED to take it off my bill. I was so confused.. I've never had that happen before. Eventually we asked to speak to the manager who was also very rude and reluctantly took it off the bill "just this time." They were just insisting on serving me more food I didn't want. It was a really strange interaction and I haven't felt comfortable going back after that. Your kitchen made the mistake, own it, apologize and just take it off my bill?? read more

I love this place! It is clean and bright, with plenty of seating at tables, the bar, booths... I've seen several people on dates. And the staff is super friendly and helpful. I meet a friend here after work at least once a week. My friend likes the 2-for-1 wines during happy hour. I enjoy the teas and food - which I feel are priced very reasonably for the quality and quantity. The chicken with grits is delicious, as is their salad with avocado, walnuts, and feta. I notice another comment saying "hipsters galore". I actually think this place has very few hipsters compared to most spots in Nashville (which is part of the reason I like it!). You'll see lots of people there in workout gear. read more

What a great little brunch place! I loved the variety of their menu, but I'm always a savory breakfast girl so I got this season hash with blackberries and it was really good! This was our first visit to the frothy monkey--it was actually recommended to us by our neighbors. We had a short wait and the staff was all very friendly. The environment was also nice. A little busy, but not loud or packed by any stretch. Enough to allow us to hear each other and have a sense of privacy as well. The latte I got was absolutely beautiful and also quite delicious. My husband also really enjoyed his hot apple cider. The house potatoes were amazing and very well seasoned, as was the sausage. I was a little disappointed by the pancakes though. They fell apart really easily and didn't have a lot of flavor, and the syrup was more of a liquid almost like sugar water, but I finished them for sure. I'll probably just order something different the next time we're there! read more

There are several Frothy Monkeys across Nashville as it has become a beloved staple, but this one is my favorite. Whether I'm working, dining in, or getting food to go, the staff has always gone above and beyond. Whether it's delicately packaging my to-go order, offering recommendations, bringing me water as I work, or being attentive, the staff has been invested in me having a positive experience. Mocha Monkey Latte - I'd you're feeling bougie, I highly recommend this flavorful latte. Black Bean Hummus - outstanding recommendation. Hummus had exceptional flavor and the carrots and celery were fresh. I love to order this to-go and walk down to Southern Grist for a beer to go with it (Southern Grist welcomes and encourages you bringing Frothy'a food over since they don't offer any) Royale Sandwich - unbelievably good for a sandwich that seems relatively simple. The basil mayo sets it off and sets it apart. I can't speak to the avocado on the sandwich since I'm allergic (I know, with the avocado craze it's tragic). Oatmeal - high quality, great topping offering if you're looking to eat a healthy breakfast (although admittedly I love their classic bacon and eggs). I've ordered this to go before and they do an exceptional job of packaging it up and keeping it high quality. Spark Notes Version: clean - coffee, cocktails, brunch, lunch, dinner, snacks - great service, great to-go, top notch work or dining environment, attentive and friendly staff, consistent quality read more

I wish I could give this restaurant more stars but my food, drinks, and service were terrible. The braised brisket was completely flavorless and the sides it came with were just mushy and had little flavor as well. The wine down Wednesday wine wasn't very good either, especially for the price. I sat for 15 minutes before anyone came to take care of me or give me water. There was one very nice server who saw that I was waiting and came over to help and he checked on me a few times so if it wasn't for him I would've probably given 1 star. We were in town for a wedding and found this place next door to our venue. It was so good that we all went back twice.

Let me start by I've been going to Frothy Monkey on 12th for years now. I've been multiple times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. At times just to work and have a drink (could be beer, wine, or coffee) as they have all. So my review may be a bit bias to their 12th location. First the West Nashville location is gorgeous and bright. Great location for groups and or getting worked done if you need a remote place to hang out. The menu is the exact same as their other location. Parking can get busy during busy times i.e. lunch. On this particular day I went for lunch. My colleague and I ordered the same salad. We were asked if we wanted a half or full size salad. We both went full size. When our meals came out we both looked at each other and thought is this just an appetizer? The portion was very tiny. Thank goodness for the slice of toast to help, but I was surprised as I've eaten at FM several times and never had a portion issue. Maybe it's their salads, which this was my first time ordering. Outside of price, it tasted just fine, but for price and portion, I would recommend going with it. The vibe is completely different from the 12th location. The 12th has this rustic, dark, hippy feel, and at least for me makes me feel innovative. The west location is definitely brighter, roomier, but is different. I'll definitely be going back and updating my review if needed. I'd recommend FM. read more

I'm forgainst going to this place. When people say "let's go to Frothy," I'm always like "No" but with a yes-y aftertaste (name that movie). I thought of leaving a bad review today, because one of the servers was a little rude when she basically asked paying customers to get out of the way (a please would have worked lol--she tried to trick us by rudely saying, "oh we don't want to trample you" *eye roll* I am not a 5-year-old), but the nicest woman helped us at the bakery section. She was wearing a "f*r*i*e*n*d*s" shirt and was super sweet! The chocolate croissant was OKAY, I've had worse, I've had better. Comparible to Starbucks. Side note, I've ordered the salmon sandwich about a bazillion times and it is TOP NOTCH. Fuh-reeee-kiiiiiing Yum! So basically this place is hit or miss haha! I go here for convenience.
