This location in The Nations is bright, airy, and spacious, although it is popular so there can be a wait. I love getting the turtle latte, hot or iced, for a caffeine boost and sweet treat. For food, I either get their Gail salad - topped with roasted chicken, avocado, feta, walnuts, and a fresh citrusy dressing - or their Royale - a turkey sandwich that has a basil mayo that takes it over the top. The sandwich is served with chips and salsa, which are a delicious addition to the meal. They also offer gluten-free bread, which I'm so thankful for. The service is always friendly and prompt. Being that my spouse and I work in the industry, we felt as though we left seeking more. We came on a Monday, and had heard awesome things about the food and the service. My bagel was good, just a standard bacon egg and cheese. They couldn't add sautéed onions to my bagel, that is fine. What was frustrating was that we were charged for it... My spouse got the farmhouse breakfast, which left a lot to be desired. The fruit was old, bacon looked and tasted a day old. Eggs were overcooked as well. Service wasn't super friendly, they felt too busy for what little business was in the place. If the place was busier I would be a bit more understanding, but it just did not really feel like the overall experience was something to write home about. I enjoyed working from Frothy Monkey in the morning. The environment is probably not the best for taking calls but it is certainly suitable for individual work. While there I ordered a hot matcha tea. Loved it!! Bonus that it came in at the perfect temp. I also ordered a kale Caesar salad with salmon. I'm not exaggerating when I say this coffee shop has gotten me through the past four years of medical school. Their coffee is my favorite in all of Nashville. Sometimes I'll get their warm beverages, but on a hot day like today the iced latte with oat milk was perfect. Prior to covid I would come here and study for hours. Now they encourage faster turnover at the tables since there are fewer places to sit inside, but on a quiet weekday morning we didn't feel rushed at all. There are also tables on the outdoor patio as well. Today I tried the quinoa + black bean burger and it was delicious! The sundried tomato pesto and the basil mayo really make this sandwich. I usually opt for their salads, and my friend did the salad architect today. We both agree that the feta they use here is the most delicious, perfectly fluffy feta you'll find. One thing I love about the Frothy Monkey is that you can show up for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or anything in between, and you'll have a great experience. The food options are excellent. The coffee is top notch, and if you stop by a little later in the day, they have some awesome cocktails as well. My favorite is the sunset sangria. I've been to all the Frothy Monkey locations in the Nashville area and the one in the Nations will always be my #1. I love the industrial ambiance and the tall ceilings. I was out of town in Nashville, TN for a girls weekend trip and as soon as we drive in we wanted to grab a bite to eat for a late lunch. The Frothy Monkey was close to our Airbnb so we headed there. Note that parking is limited. The inside was festively decorated and there is a lot of open room with seating. We ordered cocktails and our meals however our food came out before our drinks. Two of my friends ordered margaritas which they said tasted terrible and actually sent them back. I ordered the monkey martini which was nothing but alcohol, not as all what I expected. For food my friends ordered the brisket sandwich but they should've named it the pot roast sandwich instead because that was exactly what it was. They said it tasted good but was not a brisket sandwich. I had the salmon sandwich which was good. They also have some outdoor seating for when the weather is nice. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes for a table. The staff is always very nice and happy to answer questions. This round I had a cheesy grit bowl, coffee, and a carafe of mimosas. Everything was absolutely delicious. The grits were inspired and I loved the option to add eggs. They've really expanded their brunch options over the years along with their locations. Their chai latte was perfect and so gorgeous, it's obvious why they are the go-to speciality place. However for my biscuits and gravy, I felt like they were oddly bland. I felt like I was dumping hot sauce on them for more of a kick, which is what I expected if chorizo was part of the gravy. Additionally, the service was great but the kitchen was slow! Our waiter was incredibly attentive but once we had ordered, it unfortunately made it feel like forever since we had seen him due to a kitchen wait. I drank my cortado and then decided to sip this water, I immediately realized it was mineral water and I had to Google the reasoning for them giving me mineral water. This was the first time I have ever been given that with my cortado so that was interesting. Everyone else in my party order americano or a Latte, no complaints from their ends. I kept my food order very simple, Bacon egg & cheese bagel and a blueberry muffin. Both really good. My friend ordered the French toast with grits and she said it was delicious. It's 20° out and the sun was beaming in our eyes so we asked to move and she just said to sit wherever has place mats.
