MAGICAL CUPCAKES! It was so hot outside so I didn't want to turn on my oven to bake a cake so I decided to have Frosted Cupcakes for our small dinner party. From the moment people arrived, they saw the cupcakes and wanted to skip dinner The cupcakes are beautiful. They're the perfect size and look beautiful in the plate. We were able to cut them in halves (we could have done fourths because they're a nice size) and share so everyone could try different cakes. You cannot choose just one! We had lemon, chocolate, vanilla, carrot, butterscotch and red velvet and all of the cupcakes had their magical cream cheese frosting TO DIE FOR! I will order Frosted over and over again. My personal favorite is the Lemon! It's so lemony it almost feels healthy read more

Went in to get two cupcakes with my girlfriend today around 6:30pm. We asked for a royal white cupcake and carrot cupcake. We were almost home when we opened the bag and realized there was only one cupcake. They forgot to put the other one in the bag and it of course the one they put in had to be the carrot cupcake. Then when we were eating the cupcake we found either the out side of a acorn shell or piece of wood in it. You can see in the picture. I was really unhappy it pushed into my gum as was over all a bad experience. read more

Frosted Cupcakery - Wood in my cupcake - Bakeries Near Me - Long Beach, California

Discovered this place because I had a hankering for something sweet and I absolutely love cake. This store is just one of many along 2nd Street in Long Beach, but it's more towards the end of it, so you get to avoid a bit of the traffic that the big restaurants pull on a normal day. The store itself is quite nice, with a number to seats and tables for you to enjoy your fresh cupcake. My friends and I came in at around 5pm on a Monday and it didn't seem to be that busy at all. They still even had a majority of their flavors left. My friends and I each tried one cupcake flavor and we reached the consensus that the cake itself is delicious, but the frosting combined with the cake can get a tad sweet, especially for any of the chocolate cupcakes. I had the Chocolate Caramel Toffee cupcake and I was in desperate need of milk after eating it. Texture and consistency of both the cupcake and the frosting were great, neither left any kind of a heavy residue feeling in my mouth, they were just really sweet when eaten together. The cupcake was so soft, even though I ate it about two hours after buying it. I would definitely come here again just to try some of their other cupcake flavors and pray that I don't get hit with another extremely sweet one. read more

I usually do not like the cupcakes from stores. I make my own and I feel like in doing so I may be burning some of the calories ingested by doing the dishes afterwards =) Plus, the cupcakes from boutiques like this are usually pastic-y, dry and too sweet. However, Frosted Cupcakery is truly fantastic. I am ashamed to say that I would drive to the the LBC to pick up 1 or 12 to avoid that dish cleanup and also to have some variety. On Sunday, my friends and I visited Frosted after a horrific meal down the street. We were in need of some deliciousness STAT to recover. I ordered a nutella cupcake, which is a yellow cupcake with nutella frosting and half of a Ferrero Rocher on top. Not only was it beautiful, it was moist and not too sweet at all. God help me and my pants size, but Frosted is my new "I don't feel like baking" dessert go -to. read more

$2.75 for a cupcake is totally worth it because: 1) The cupcakes are moist, and the frosting has the right amount of creamy sweetness. Red velvet with cream cheese is my favorite, and strawberry with cream cheese is a close second. For the chocoaholics, you can't go wrong with the chocolate cake and chocolate frosting double whammy. 2) It's a cute little store with friendly employees. They pack your cupcakes with care. Just seeing the box with the Frosted sticker puts a smile on my face. 3) I don't bake, and I'm not interested in learning how to bake. I'll gladly spend money for a moist, delicious cupcake. If you think that you can get a better cupcake out of the box, you would be wrong. 4) I received the cutest cupcakes for Valentine's Day (http://static.px.yelp.com/bphoto/03Rf56_WZ6XLDADPEI7CQQ/l) They tasted as good as they looked. I confess that Frosted holds a special place in my heart. read more

This is a thing of beauty! http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sPpGS6oTsRisTLS9-Tseow?select=epUF3J0Ho15cujJJARe0yw I LOVE cupcakes!!! I think y'all knew that already though, didn't ya? When I first tried Frosted I liked it but I did not LOVE it. Well, after living in the LBC for over two years now I have grown to LOVE Frosted. The reason for this new found LOVE is their flavors of the month. I can't remember them all from the past year but here are the ones that stick out in my mind; Black Velvet Lemon Blueberry S'mores Bacon Cornbread w/ Maple Frosting Almond Toasted Coconut Key Lime Pie And of course, now that fall is in the air, they've brought back their famous Pumpkin cupcake, which is one of the best tasting pumpkin cupcakes I've ever come across If you have not already been to Frosted in the LBC do yourself a favor and go.......NOW! Jolie D and Nick H bragged about Frosted. Frosted is better than Sprinkles blah blah blah ;) I finally went there!!! A cute little place with great customer service. They have quite a selection of yummy sugar icing. Yes sugar icing like Sprinkles. I tried their Chocolate/Mint Chip Buttercream and Chocolate/Coconut Vanilla Buttercream. I have to say they are pretty good. The icing was not too sweet and the cake was moist. Do I like this more than Sprinkles? Heck no ;) Sprinkles is still my first love but I will go back here for more flavors. Thanks Nick & Jolie ;) 3.5 stars!! Frosted Cupcakery is yummylicious!! read more

Y'all know I don't like desserts and it takes major arm pulling for me to even taste 'em. Well, I'm not a fan of cupcakes either -- surprise, surprise -- but honestly, these were pretty damn good. I tried the lemon, red velvet and vanilla and thought they were all lovely and moist and the frosting wasn't sickly sweet and hard. In fact, if I HAD to eat an entire cupcake, I'd say these would be the ones I'd choose to eat. When you buy them to bring home, they put them in these awesome boxes which sits a cupcake into each slot so they don't move about and cause a ruckus by the time you get home. They're still perfect should you want to have them for a dinner party. On top of that, they have these cupcake holders made out of paper which you can assemble and then display your cupcakes at home if you don't have one of those nifty contraptions. Frosted Cupcakery gets my vote in terms of cupcake stores -- and ya know I never like any bakeries, let alone cupcake stores! read more

At the suggestion of friends who had Frosted cupcakes for their wedding a few years ago we decided to try them out. We were spending an afternoon in Belmont Shore and decided to stop by this shop without setting up a formal tasting. We immediately fell in love with a few flavors and I went forward with placing an order for our wedding immediately. Our big day was in March and I still get texts from family and friends asking where we got the cupcakes! Frosted was a pleasure to work with and ordering through them was a much cheaper option than ordering a traditional wedding cake. Plus we were able to give our guests three flavor options which everyone enjoyed. Frosted does not deliver themselves but they have a third party delivery service that they use. We had no problems getting the cupcakes to our venue early enough to set up! If you are also going the cupcake route for your wedding I highly recommend Frosted! read more

Yes yes and Yes. I am such a sucker for sweets, cupcakes especially! The Frosted Cupcakery in Long Beach have by far the tastiest and most succulent cupcakes I hav ever indulged in! They have quite a variety of different flavors, They do have a Flavor of the Month, which is always turning out to be quite the sweet, tasty surprise! I have came a few times and I must say that I am not disappointed! Parking is found on the street. Just be careful not to park where permits are required. They do have parking meters. Plus, considering the fact that they are located in 2nd Street in the Belmont Shore area, they do have quite the array of eateries around just in case you want something after you have indulged in their sweets! Sweetest cupcakes ever. My favorite is the strawberry lemonade flavor. I believe it was a Flavor of the Month during the summer last year. I usually buy 6 cupcakes(not all for myself!!)which would come out to around $12 or so. So worth it. The people working here are just friendly all around! Too sweet. They also do have t shirts that you can buy. They do take orders I believe, just in case you are in a hurry. Overall, I always have such a pleasant yet fulfilling experience when I come here. Since they continue to hypnotize me with their treats, I will continue giving them my money and service! Best cupcakes ever! Don't believe me? Come and try for yourself! Considering I have tried just about all their flavors, I know what I am talking about! read more

Frosted Cupcakery - A surprise gift! :) - Bakeries Near Me - Long Beach, California

Definitely comes across as a hip cupcake shop - the art work on the wall reminds me of Kidrobot and they also sell cupcake scented greeting cards, cupcake pins, and Frosted t-shirts. The cupcake case also looked appealing with 19 types of cupcakes to choose from ($2.95 each) and ice cream cupcakes too (flavor of the day: mint chocolate chip ice cream in a giant chocolate cupcake). Some of the flavors included Lemon, Strawberry, Orange, Red Velvet, Carrot, Mint, Nutella, Apple Cinnamon, Peanut Butter, Cookies N' Cream, etc. Some had sprinkles and others were topped with gummy candies. They're homestyle, old fashioned cupcakes. The cupcakes are average in size. I tried the Royal White cupcake with Vanilla Buttercream. The buttercream frosting was soft and smooth, a little sweeter than average. There was less frosting on the cake than average. I like how it wasn't too whipped or too soft. The outer edge had white sprinkles. The cake part was a little dry and just not that flavorful. The Cookies N' Cream cupcake was a disappointment because it seemed just like a chocolate cupcake with vanilla buttercream, only with a mini Oreo on top. The frosting should have crushed cookie bits. The cake part was okay, also a tad dry. I brought some home to share with the family and Crumbs was definitely preferred because the Crumbs cake had more flavor. P.S. There is a Yogurtland across the street from Frosted and it looks like some good shopping too. read more

I've been to a couple cupcake shops around Long Beach and I have to say that Frosted is my favorite. While Frosted's cupcakes may not be as exotic, decorative, or have as many flavors as its competitors, they focus on what's most important: flavor. You can be assured that any cupcake you get, you'll enjoy it. I can say the with confidence because I've been coming to Frosted (here and their now-closed Hermosa Beach location) for some years now. From the moist cake itself to the amazing frosting on top, you won't be disappointed. I live around 15 miles away and I seriously go out of my way to get these cupcakes. They're that good. Added bonus: they have PUPcakes for your fur child!!! Parking: street, metered [2-hour limit]. There's some lots around too. Favorite flavors so far: Royal White/Nutella Buttercream, Chocolate/Caramel Buttercream Toffee; flavor-of-the-month Chocolate+Cherry, Pumpkin/Cream Cheese read more

Reviews on this place is mixed BUT I have been to MANY different cupcake places. Chocolate Toffee cupcake, that's new and interesting, I'll have one! Chocolate cake with toffee frosting, also topped with toffee pieces! I believe the chocolate cake was more of a dark chocolate. I think doing that, made the flavors pop! Super yummy, I actually ended up sharing it with 3 other people, the cupcake was NOT that big, next time I am in the area, I am buying a dozen and trying every flavor they have! I was so tempted to buy the cupcake Tupperware for a single cupcake! $3 but your cupcake will never lose it's top! read more

Man Frosted cupcakes are truly awesome! Their cupcake to frosting ratio is spot on PERFECT! Have tried most of their flavors now and all have been great. My favs are Royal White with Chocolate, Carrot, Chocolate Chocolate, Orange Cream and Royal White with Vanilla. The only thing worth the slog over to this Long Beach cupcakery is their signature ICE CREAM FILLED CUPCAKES. For those of you who love ice cream cakes but never seem to have enough birthdays during the year to fulfill your cold, cakey dreams - I present to you the frosted cupcakery delight: The ice cream cupcake. There are only a few flavors to choose from, but you'd be silly not to try the mint chip/chocolate cake flavor. The cupcake & frosting to ice cream ratio is a bit off. There were about three or four full frosting bites that didn't come with the benefit of the cold creamy mint filling. Overall it was a messy, fun time to consume. Of course, I had to try some of the more interesting flavor offerings of traditional cupcakes... Orange cream was the tastiest in my opinion, but even that dream flavor lacked that certain oomph that spending $2.95 on a cupcake requires. Surprisingly the cream cheese frosting was pretty good. I usually prefer a sweeter, heftier icing but I think the fact that the flavor is not only in the cake but also in the frosting makes a big difference. ...And the PUPCAKES? petite little meaty baby food flavored cakes that would make any pup sit up and beg. My kitty enjoys them, too! Unless you are into the ice cream thing, I say stick to the bigger, tastier, fresher more expensive Sprinkles. read more

Okay, my original review was a 2 star. Then I updated and upgraded to a 4 star. Well after becoming a regular and a fan of the orange cream cupcake. And expanding my cupcake tastes to lemon cream and strawberry cream from my usual chocolate cupcakes. I need to upgrade Frosted to a Yelp 5 star. Frosted has just the right amount of smooth delish frosting on their cupcakes. I think the frosting has crack in them, since I've become an addict. And normally I don't even care for frosting! And thier cakes are so moist and yummiicious, I've become a major fan of Frosted. I love their cupcakes way better than Sprinkles. The store is clean and service is always friendly. I love cupcakes.. I love ice cream.. So how can I not like a cupcake with ice cream in it!? Dragging Yelper Mikolas S. along with me for the adventure of chubby bunny's lifetime, I eagerly entered the store wide-eyed and drooling with one thing, and one thing only on my mind: to get my ice cream cupcake! I ordered a Red Velvet cupcake with Vanilla Bean ice cream in it as well as a regular Mint Chocolate Chip cupcake while Mikolas S. had the White Chocolate cupcake with Strawberry ice cream. Me and Mikolas splite the two ice cream cupcakes. I think of the two, I much preferred the RV to the White Chocolate, but it was a personal preference since I'm not a huge white chocolate fan. The ice cream cupcakes are shockingly large which was a big plus. But the cake, frosting, and ice cream were all rock hard. I would have easily broken the plastic spoon they provided for me if I attempted to use it on the cc. The concept is cool but I think you're better off ordering a cc here and going down the street to the rite aid store and ordering a scoop of ice cream. I still really enjoyed the cc and the novelty of it all. As for the Mint Chocolate Chip cc, oh my god. So minty with lots and lots of chocolate chip morsels in the frosting. And the chocolate cake had a lot of rich chocolate flavor and was moist and dense in texture. Neither the minty frosting or the chocolate cake overpowered each other--it was a very well-balanced mix of both. Loved it! I wanna come back next time for the Nutella cc!! Can't wait! read more

From the moment that I saw their cupcake display, I literally wanted to just take a bite out of every cupcake they had to offer and put the rest back. Does that make me a bad person? I simply wanted to have a sample of every cupcake since everything looked so darn cute and yummy. My final decision was their strawberry ice cream cupcake and their keylime flavor of the month. The ice cream cupcake was larger than a normal size cupcake and I split it with my BF. The taste reminds me of ice cream birthday cakes from coldstones or baskin robbins, but only this was better with super sweet frosting. Ice cream cupcake = mMmMm! Keylime cupcake = Very moist and WOW! Needless to say that I got two more cupcakes togo, another keylime and a red velvet! Because I wasn't allowed to take one bite out of each of their cupcakes on display and I doubt that the owner would have appreciated that, I now have to go back again and again until I try out all of their cupcakes at least once or twice. After that, I'll probably have to come up with some other excuse to drive up to second street. Frosted Cupcakery, you will make me fat! read more

because ive heard so much about this place and been craving cupcakes for the past week, i had to stop in after class. i hate driving down 2nd street but i have to say, this time was worth it. i came in and ordered 2 carrot cakes, 2 red velvets, a strawberry lemonade, chocolate mint, orange cream, and lemon cream cheese. They were all moisted and yummy, but my favorite would have to be the carrot cake. I loved the nuts around the rim, the cream cheese frosting and the cake part was really satisfying. overall, 8 cupcakes for around $23. not too bad. you can get a dozen for $30 but i figure i didnt need that much. anyway, i never thought that 3 something is expensive for a cupcake because i think of them as mini cakes. good cakes are never cheap. Plus they hit the spot and worth every calorie. They're also great to cheer someone up. I do believe this place is better than sprinkles, so if you feel like sweets and in the area, GO! read more

Love, love, love this place. :oD Fiance has the ultimate sweet tooth and when I saw an ad in the OC Register, I thought that we should try Frosted Cupcakery out. How we lucked out! I don't eat too many sweets, but the royal white cupcake with Nutella Buttercream frosting was devine. Moist cake and the sweetness of the frosting was juuuust right. Yes, I'm 28 years old and there is still that kid in me that enjoys eating a cupcake. I've been to this place once before, only to walk out empty handed (they were out of red velvet). I was determined to see what's the big hype. So one beautiful Saturday in Southern California I figured why not. They have a decent selection, white chocolate nutella, Oreo cookie, and red velvet just to name a few. I decided to try the red velvet with a glass of chocolate milk. I loved that it was your average size cupcake and not a dollop of frosting like some other places. I took one bite and I was wow'd! Nice and moist with that flavor u expect from red velvet. I must warn you, they are a bit pricey, $2.95 for one/ $13.00/doz. Its something I won't be doing often but a great place to satisfy that sweet craving. They also have an ice cream cupcake (cupcake with an ice cream center). For a price of $4.95, you get to have an all time favorite! I didn't try it myself but the group next to me shared it and it was a great size for 2. How they get ice cream in the middle of a cupcake you ask? Well one way to find out. Perhaps when I have my next sweet craving I'll try it. Almost forgot, they have pupcakes. Miniature cupcakes to take home to your 4 legged best friend (Bailey for me). Tucked away a few feet from the corner of 2nd and Claremont stands this little cupcake store. YUMS. They're closed on Mondays, so spare your time and gas and avoid this place on Mondays or else you'll be disappointed. The cupcakes are delicious! They usually have their cupcake of the month which is pretty good as well. But I come here for the red velvets =) oooh soft and sweet, with an explosion of euphoria as I swallow. gosh, I can't just have one, or two, or three .. I usually get their dozen. haha yes it's a little bit expensive at $30/dozen .. but I finish all of them in a day. Of if you don't want to buy a dozen, you could do $2.75/cupcake. I've tried most of them, .. but the good ones are the cookies and creme and red velvet. Try them all!! they're delicious. Sometimes, if you come in later in the day .. they'll be out of their popular, good ones so you'll have to settle for something else. As a young Matthew McConaughey once said in the famed feel-good film How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days: "Frost yourselves!" One of my good friends is a Frosted zealot, even having swapped ordering a traditional wedding cake for Frosted cupcakes instead on her big day. I tried a Royal White Vanilla at her reception and was quite impressed, leading her to take me to the source to try another. Frosted is at the tail end of 2nd Street, humbly nestled next to a bank, and just across the way from Belmont Shore favorites including Saint and Second and Nick's. I managed to find a metered parking spot right in front of the cupcakery, putting in just a nickel to get my cupcake and go. I had gone in the early afternoon, which apparently is when everybody else also wants cupcakes, as there was a line to the door. There was only one worker behind the counter, and he had a great sense of humor and attitude amidst the craziness. I ordered the Confetti Cupcake and y'all. Cute little Cupcakery in Long Beach. I went here last Sunday and this area gets quite crowded since there are so many places to visit just on one street. The store is quite small, but what cupcake place isn't. I did enjoy the nice cupcake painting on the wall. SUPER CUTE! Cartoony slash anime slash fairy tale! I loved all the colors they put into the painting. Little secret... go to these type of places with a large group... so then you can all buy one or two and cut the cupcakes into little pieces and WALAH... you get a little cupcake sample line going! Red Velvet - pretty decent... I've had better Carrot Cake - DELISH! This one was my favorite. The carrot cake was quite colorful with all the carrot specs, and the cream cheese frosting was smooth and creamy. Holiday Cupcake Gingerbread - this one was fairly interesting and different. I enjoyed it. Caramel Buttercreme Toffee - I enjoyed this one a lot but it is very rich so my small tiny bite was good enough for me. You can really taste the toffee on this one. Nutella Cupcake - wasn't that bad.. i have to admit I like it better on my crepes. They have little mini cupcakes for your doggies! Super cute! Hot Chocolate or Old School bottled Coke also for sale. I opt for the hot chocolate and it went perfect with not only the cupcakes but the gloomy cold weather! read more

I finally ventured my way over to Frosted and tried their ice cream cupcake. I like cupcakes and I like ice cream. I figured I would also like their ice cream cupcake. Oh what a disappointment that experience was. The cupcake and the ice cream were so hard and dry. I guess it's been sitting in the freezer for a while. I expected something totally different. I was expecting a soft warm cupcake with the yummy ice cream in the middle. If you want ice cream with your cupcake you're better off adding the ice cream to your cupcake yourself. Even though the ice cream cupcake was a disappointment, Frosted makes good Red Velvet cakes. Hence, the 4 stars. I like how their frosting isn't too sweet like most places. I also like that it's not pile on super high. It also helps that the staff here are really friendly. Maybe they're high off of sugar? Do yourself a favor and don't get the ice cream cupcake... Just stick to the basics and get one of their regular cupcakes instead. You'll thank me later for it. read more
