I was referred to Frost Ortho as they were known to specialize in making your smile broad and achieving a full white smile with minimal dark areas. Well ever since Dr. Nichols left, my care at Frost Ortho was never the same. In fact I would have to explain what I wanted for my smile every time I sat down and saw a new doctor. I never once saw Dr. Frost. My smile was already beautiful but I had two gaps in my teeth to close. The only progress I saw was when I was under Dr. Nichols care. In my photos you'll see how amazing my smile was just under 3 months of Dr. Nichols care. Guys after three years, thousands of dollars and inconsistent care, I am very unhappy to report that my gaps are still in my teeth AND my smile shows less teeth than when I came in. My entire life doctors told me I would need surgery to correct my gummy smile, but Frost-Nichols permanently fixed my gummy smile all with braces and tads. No other orthodontists in the country can fix gummy smiles like this. They are above and beyond the entire orthodontist field, and because of this I flew in from out of state for almost 3 years just for treatment. Frost has been amazing! Staff is always friendly. I discovered them a few summers back, when I was visiting and my permanent retainer broke. They were able to get me in and fixed it. Since relocating here, they have been my go to ortho needs. Only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because of their overpowering and pungent air freshener "machines". It's like someone dumped the whole bottle of Glade on the floor. I'm not super sensitive to smells, but this one not only inflames my allergies but gives me a migraine every time. They seriously could unplug it, and I promise you the place will still smell like over the grown popery farm for 5 decades. I've made comments about it and no one has done anything to change it. Update: After sharing my concerns, Dr. Frost personally addressed the issues and made sure the brackets were fixed securely so they won't keep popping off. He also took steps to make things right with our account, which I appreciate. The office manager also followed up with a phone call to check in and reassure me that they're putting improvements in place moving forward. While the past few months have been frustrating, I do feel like they heard us and are making an concerted effort to provide better care and service, and I feel like they handled things very professionally! Quality has definitely gone downhill in the past year, as a previous review noted. Had a great experience several years ago with my oldest, but since my youngest got her braces on less than 2 months ago, we've had to go back in 5 different occasions to repair brackets that fell off. They just pop when she is doing nothing--no eating crunchy foods, not even eating at all the last 3 times something popped. It is impossible to get an appt without waiting several days, and it's miserable for my daughter to go that long with the worry poking into her cheek. Every time we go to get it fixed, the doctor assures me they've checked and tugged on everything and it is secure, but then we lose another bracket in the next week. We are considering taking everything off and moving to a new orthodontist at this point. I feel like they have taken in so many too patients and are not able to keep up with the quality of care. read more

I have had 4 kids go here and it seems to be going down hill, so please be aware. This is my last child here so I can see the difference. First, the front office ladies could be nicer or not talk about people when you walk off, unprofessional in my opinion as they are the face of the company. I also don't feel like you see the actual Dr.'s much, just the girls who do the work and give some conflicting information. The amount of times I had to bring my child just days after an appointment for broken brackets or pokey wires was a lot! If you have pokey wires the front office ladies do not care about getting you asap even tho those appointments take like 5 minutes. After spending a lot of money at a premium price to get braces here I find it comical they give you a box of fun size candy bars when you get your braces off! Come on now! Maybe a nice toothbrush or water flosser but not crap candy! The vibe is different and its just not the same services. read more

I didn't end up going to Dr. Frost because I found an ortho closer to home who also treats gummy smiles with TADS, but if it weren't for the distance and me being an airplane averse germaphobe, this would be my orthodontist. I can't recommend his office enough. His staff, everyone from Cambrie and Ann bent over backwards to try and get me a consultation as soon as possible. I can't say enough good things about this place. After a negative experience with my previous orthodontist, a friend recommended that I consult with Dr. Frost for the second half of my MSE treatment, which are braces. Upon meeting Dr. Frost I could tell he would be a much better fit for me as my orthodontist. He communicates well and is very professional. He even showed me a scan of my airway at my consultation (which my previous ortho never bothered to show me). I was able to get a better idea of what I needed to treat the sleep apnea and what my options were. Dr. Frost suggested that I get jaw surgery to treat my moderate sleep apnea. I am now scheduled to get double jaw surgery next week. Today I got all of my surgical hooks in. Even though I was late to my appointment (I had mistakenly input 10:00 into my calendar instead of 9:45), they were able to accommodate me. Brittany is my favorite tech and she did an amazing job putting in all of my surgical hooks and everything else. She took time to make sure there were no sharp and pointy edges and that I felt comfortable. I saw Dr. Nichols today and he is so friendly and awesome. He was very encouraging and said, "I am so excited for your surgery," which actually made me feel excited about it too (I had been anxious and dreading the surgery up until he said that). Every member of the team that I have met is wonderful. They are professional, upbeat, kind, personable and friendly. Even though they get really busy at times, they communicate well with one another and have a good system going. They put you at ease and make you feel like you are in good hands. They even play great music that lifts your mood. It's a vibe. Oh, and their massage chairs are awesome! I always leave their office feeling happier and more energetic. Extremely beautiful, organized, innovative with experienced practitioners. We brought in my daughter who has Down Syndrome to see Dr. Frost for a palate expander. The warm greeting and thorough communication from the staff at the front desk, to the play area for kids to keep our daughter busy during our very brief wait, and the smooth checkout process. First of all, as a nurse who has worked with hundreds of doctors, I was immediately impressed with how personable and caring Dr. Frost was towards our daughter's case. We first began the consult by just chatting and speaking on our background, and once we delved into the clinical aspect of the appointment you could really tell he knew his stuff. We learned so much about how we could best help my daughter and take care of her unique qualities. It's very hard to find a doctor who is both extremely knowledgeable/experienced and who is very personable and caring. We spoke of her plan in depth and made a goal to address her case when it would best benefit her, which is when she is a bit older. We really appreciated how honest and thorough he was. As a parent to a child with special needs, it is also extremely hard to find an office that one has the knowledge to treat your child, and two the right qualities in providers and the resources the office holds. I called to make an appointment to have my permanent retainer removed. I was told they accept my insurance, but it would be $320 if my insurance did not cover anything. After the retainer was removed, they refused to bill my insurance because "we have done this thousands of times and insurance does not cover retainers." I do not know why they wouldn't bill my insurance regardless. I was charged $320 out of pocket and scheduled a follow up appointment to pick up a new set of removable retainers. The day before my second appointment they called me to say there was a mistake because they only charged me for the bottom retainer. So they are going to charge me another $320 for the top retainer. They also rescheduled my appointment because "there was a glitch in the system." I would have went somewhere else if I knew I would be charged $640 for two retainers. They also failed to completely remove my previous retainer. I recommend others avoid this orthodontist because they refuse to bill insurances, give misleading quotes, and cannot properly remove retainers. read more

Horrible experience! My daughter went there to get her braces done, the office staff was nice, they had good Google reviews, even though the price is much higher than other orthodontics, we decided to go with Dr. Frost. It took us 3 years to finish the treatment, she had to get braces twice from him! The first time, she had braces for 1.5 years and he messed up the alignment of her bite so we had to do it again for the second time but after 3 years my daughter's teeth and bite is still not good, she can't bite down completely, and she can't close her mouth when she sleeps, this has created a lot of respiratory problems throughout the years. Dr. Frost was very upset when we brought up the problems my daughter was having after her treatment, and he said that it's very hard to correct the bite because she's a teenager, and her jaw was still developing. This is totally not acceptable and we don't want anyone to have to experience what we've been through. read more

Super Fast and Easy Process, Professional and Knowledgable Staff, Just Be Careful In Regards To Billing. The day my braces were installed... I was surprised at how organized and efficient everyone was. They put everything together in a short amount of time and really have the system down... it really doesn't take much time at all to get your braces done. Each trip in is less than 10 minutes and then you are out the door ready for liquids and soft foods for a couple days after each tightening.... Lol... The assistants here are pretty stellar, it would be difficult to pick a better crew. Everyone seems so happy about what they do at work it is almost surprising! Except maybe one of the desk girls... lol... You can guess which one... Everyone else is almost glowing with positive energy. Dr. Frost really picked a great group. Dr. Frost as always was professional and really seems to know his stuff... Not that he wouldn't after around 25 years of doing it.... But he does a great job. He tries to stop by and be personable and then he is off the the next patient in a flash. The guy really has it down to a no time wasted process. All in all I have to admit getting braces wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The end result is good and having a nice set of teeth is something I should have done earlier. Just Be Sure About Billing and that the insurance estimate is only a quote. You sign a contract and pay the $3,200 out of pocket and they are supposed to bill your insurance for the rest. A few months after my braces were off we started getting these annoying phone calls from Ortho-Fi which is apparently some company related to Frost that processes payments for this office. We called our insurance company to see why suddenly we are supposed to pay $700-$800 more after insurance was supposed to pay their part. The insurance company said that the office had submitted the bill incorrectly and they told us what to say to frost to get them to submit it so our insurance would pay. After we called Frost's office twice they always seemed like it was annoying we disagreed with the bill. Nobody ever called us back to update us until I changed my 5 star review and added comments. We just got enough calls from Ortho-Fi to get me to feel changing phone numbers was easier.I had given them 5 stars before Derek ended up calling us after being my updated yelp review and he got it straightened out. Derek was professional when taking to my wife and she felt happy with his service. So I am glad we got it resolved, but it would have been better if the problem hadn't happened or at least it didn't take so much effort to resolve it. All in all, Dr. Frost and his people are a pretty good group. I cannot stress enough to be mindful of the billing process. Other than that I feel Dr. Frost is probably one of the best in his field. read more

This whole team is absolutely incredible. I had an extremely gummy and crooked smile my whole life, it was my biggest insecurity, something I always wanted to change but didn't know how. I live in Los Angeles, and I saw many orthodontists over many years here to try help me with it. I traveled to multiple dentists in multiple cities in Mexico to look at it. I got Botox in my upper lip to try to help (spoiler alert - it didn't). I looked at getting my upper lip fused to my gums so it wouldn't raise up so high. Every single dentist I saw said that my only solution was to get this crazy jaw surgery where they cut out the excess bone causing my gummy smile. It was insanely expensive and the recovery time was over a year. Obviously a major surgery and not something I wanted to subject myself to. I was about to fully give up and live with my gummy smile for the rest of my life. One night, I decided to look online ONE more time for a solution. Frost-Nichols happened to pop up, and I saw a before and after photo of one of their previous patients who had a gummy smile almost exactly like mine, and in the after photo it was completely fixed. I immediately sobbed and booked a consultation with them. From my first visit to their beautiful office I knew this was where my lifelong problem was going to be fixed. I got braces and 4 TADS installed. I traveled from LA to Phoenix once a month to once every other month for 22 months. I just got my braces off yesterday and I NO LONGER HAVE A GUMMY SMILE! Scale 1-5 5 being the best and during covid19 -Ease of getting and appointment 5 We did ours with a virtual appointment with in an hour and had a video and conversation with the actual Dentist and an appointment for the next week! - Cleanliness and sanitation 5 Everything is pristine and there are masks and temperature checks for caregiver and patient. You must sanitize your hands before and after touching community pens and then they wipe it down. Besides the fact that people are sanitizing and cleaning while you're there. The staff is also wearing protection! - Customer Service 5 From the emails, to phone calls and seeing the Orthodontists. Every person cares and take time to explain the process from procedures to billing. My son has anxiety and so does my pocket book! Both beyond satisfied! I was not impressed with my experience at Frost. The staff do not communicate to each other effectively which resulted in a way longer treatment then necessary. It left me very frustrated with the last year of treatment when nothing changed. They repeated the same steps over and over when it of course changed nothing. I feel as though they don't review your charts, you definitely need to be your own advocate even if you are not the expert. It was very difficult to get appointments, I even had to wait a few days to get a quick appointment to fix a bracket. I appreciate many things Frost did for me but overall I would not go back. Sitting in a zero gravity massage chair while eating a free ice cream sandwhich as Harry Potter was Wingardium Leviosa- ing on the flatscreen TV is my definition of great service!
