At this point I don't check the departure board, I check whether the sun still rises in the east, because both are equally certain and only one is on time. I paid extra for the "premium" route, assuming premium meant something, like leaving when the ticket says. Turns out it's just a surcharge for being delayed in a nicer font. In this life only three things are guaranteed: death, taxes, and my AA flight sitting on the tarmac while someone apologizes into a microphone. A special mention for Paul at MSP Terminal 1, who met my calm concerns with a level of sass that deserves its own frequent flyer program. Customer service is supposed to de-escalate - you escalated. With flair. Two stars for the sheer reliability of the unreliability -- minus the rest for Paul, the delays, and the audacity of the word "premium." I'll fly them again, of course. Not by choice. I've just lost all faith that any other outcome exists.

My new May flight got cancelled so I called customer service and they assured me I would get my full $1700 refund back in 4-6 weeks. 8 weeks passed and I still didn't receive my refund so I called back and they told me I should expect my $1000 refund in 8-10 weeks. I told them why only $1000, and without providing any reason (no matter how many times I asked for a reason) they said they could only refund the initial cost of my ticket. After literally 45 minutes of yelling, they finally agreed to file a refund request for the remaining $700. I called the next week to check the status of both refund, and they tell me that BOTH refunds were still in the initial phase of the refund process and it could take 10-14 weeks...Honestly I don't think I am going to ever see that money again. Every conversation I have with customer service is super sketchy and they don't give you answers or reasons for anything, and every agent you speak to gives you conflicting information. At this point, I am seriously thinking of getting a lawyer involved.

I was flying out to pick up a new puppy and wasn't sure how to go about all this. I called ahead of time to ask. I was pleasantly surprised to so quickly get in touch with such a pleasant customer service agent! She completely, cheerfully, and carefully explained how long it takes to get from the arrival terminal to the departure terminal. Also, how to take care of the puppy along the way. THE FLIGHT - more importantly, I felt safe at all times! The attendants helped me by giving me the extra time to get settled that I needed. Seats were big enough that I did NOT feel like the cream in an Oreo! One leg of my journey was a commuter plane so a roller bag carry on was a bit big. But everyone expected it. The attendants knew how to help me sort out a couple items so we got it to work quickly and easily. My go to airline if they go to where I need.

They said my carrier was 1" too big!!!! This is a bag I have flown with for a long time and it never got rejected. I still had Delta Airline tags on it. So I asked if they could rebook my flight and they said to call a number! Why they couldn't do it there is a mystery to me. When I called the number it gave me an hour and 7 minutes wait time. When they finally called back they offered me a flight that was leaving in 1 hour. It didn't give me time to find another dog bag so I went back home VERY FRUSTRATED. I could not get my money back since it was a saver ticket but they gave me a 50% off my next flight which I couldn't get for another week or so. They said that was the best they could do. So I ended up. Using another flight for the next day, Tuesday. Tuesday morning came and I was 90 minutes early. This time the line was long and not moving!!! Everyone's flight to Hawaii has been cancelled! I was in line for almost an hour and when I got to the counter, I didn't have enough time to make my flight! The lady at the counter said, "Next time, come at least 90 minutes early." And now all of a sudden they could put me on another flight! And then she said to call the "number" to put my dog on the reservation. So I got out of line to call the number and waited for 40 minutes on the phone. I finally got my dog on the reservation, went to the counter and got my boarding pass. I barely made it to the flight I again got rescheduled on. Needless to say, I have never been treated so badly at any airline!!!! The people at the counter treated us like cattle! I will get the name of one particular lady there who looks like she is from the islands! She had no care in the world when she told me "You need to get to the other line." As she pointed with her thumb with no expression on her face! She was the same person who said, "Your dog can't get on the plane! So get another bag." I have kept my composure and was very nice to all of them during this 2 day ordeal, Never once complaining. I certainly did not deserve to be treated the way they treated me. I have never been treated so rudely by any other airline in my entire life! I will never fly Alaska again! There should be a zero rating!

The check-in counter opens roughly two hours before an AC flight departs. You often see United staff hop over to check in AC customers. I am fortunate to have dealt with friendly, courteous staff when I check in. No complaints. I do find that recent AC flights that I've flown tend to be delayed. On this trip, my flight coming into MSP was on time. My current flight home is delayed by 20 minutes. I can't tell whether it's a mechanical or weather-related issue. It is snowing, but it's light. AC flights arrive and fly out of concourse E. It's fairly close to security and the shopping area. I've been fortunate to have my baggage fee waived now and again. I've also had an upgrade to business class here and there. It's cool and I don't take it for granted. I likely have a more positive outlook when my flight is delayed because I can shop and browse at MSP. The woman behind me isn't pleased at all right now. Sadly, I have to hear her grumblings.
