Worst customer service. Internet has been down for a week in Santa Barbara nobody to talk to etc

If there's an outage, don't expect to be able to report it or have it resolved within any acceptable amount of time. App is useless and no contact number will allow you to speak to a human within a 2 hr waiting period. Waste of time and money. read more

I wanted to update the community on the latest incident with Frontier. Thanks to Victor Jerez, the Frontier Local Operations Manager, this 3rd Party employee "Dimitri" was identified and terminated. In addition, Victor put me in touch with the 3rd Party Operations Manager and he has kindly offered to compensate me for the damages to my apiary. I've updated my rating to 2 stars, and that's because Frontier's Local Operations Manager went above and beyond, moreso than almost any professional I have ever worked with in my long career in the IT industry. Thank goodness for individual shining bright stars like Victor. Frontier's CEO was also very responsive to my initial incident with their 3rd party installer. So if you're considering going with Frontier Internet (soon to be acquired by Verizon in early 2026), my advice is make SURE your installer is a direct employee of the company and NOT a 3rd party contractor. read more

I've been using frontier for the past few months now. I live in downtown Santa Barbara and had problems with other providers in the area so I decided to try out frontier, what a mistake. Over the past week I've been in a constant battle with Frontier's support staff. Essentially anything they can do to get me off the phone they will try, telling me fake times it will be fixed, trying to sell me on the unreadable wifi, and lying to me about contacting a technician. I would never recommended this service to anyone who doesn't want to sit on the phone for hours attempting to receive even a little bit of information as to why their wifi may be down. I've done everything with my power and even used their chat support feature built into the app where the support agent literally left the call because they couldn't help. Furthermore they've not updated their website at all about the outage and notably removed the outage alert from the app for whatever reason. Here are some screen shots of the chats i've had with the folks read more

Don't say I didn't warn you! Decided to replace Cox with Frontier and that was a big mistake. Once I signed up with Frontier the emails and texts start bombarding from all directions including those confirming my installation appointment, which I indeed confirmed. Two days before the install, two men show up unannounced claiming they need to check out the exterior. After all the texts and emails confirming with me a certain date, they decide to send technicians prior to the date, again, with no advance notice. The worst has yet to come. I stayed at home the day of the install to make sure to be available for the technicians as they require. No show. They never came. I call several times Frontier support but their service is SO bad. They push so hard the self-service chat that they completely remove any option to communicate with a human unless you are a very patient person and willing to wait on the line till a human (from who knows where) picks up. Not done yet. There's more. Once the human picks up the call, I get disconnected for whatever reason and they don't call back. So I call again. This time I take the name of the agent and ask that they call me back if it disconnects and.... the call got disconnected and the really nice agent called Johny never calls me back even though he said he would if we disconnected. At this point I am so fed up with crappy service Frontier that I call Cox and reinstate my service with them and the service was outstanding. Human touch instantly. Before you take on Frontier and perhaps save a few bucks, think twice once you need to talk to a human or customer support. read more

Frontier customer service is poor, and problems never seem to get solved. With Frontier digital phone service, one can block a maximum of 12 phone numbers, so there's no good mechanism for dealing with spam calls. read more

terrible customer service and terrible cable service. Equipment always failing and impossible to talk to a live person for problems.

The internet service is fine, it's the phone service it's bundled with. It keeps malfunctioning. Right now I can call out and get a rapid busy signal. The online help link is broken. Plus, it keeps switching me over to home service and it is a business account. I have been on hold for a total of TWO HOURS today trying to get my business line functioning. I'm shut out of the "communicator" app. All incoming calls go to voicemail which I can't access. My business depends on being reached by phone. This is the second time this has happened, and rebooting has done nothing. If anyone gives a darn at Frontier, please contact me. Well, I contacted Frontier via Facebook and was given a different number to call and that number went to an "800 number" sales. In other words, the number given was available for purchase. It does NOT go to any Smart Voice Techs. read more

Customer service is almost entirely absent and largely impossible to work with. I have spent numerous hours trying to even get in contact with support. Then many more hours trying to get someone who can actually address the situation. They replaced a pole in front of one of our properties that was rotting and leaning over the house. Their replacement of the pole was prompt and the pole was replaced. Once the pole was replaced, the internet stopped working. Another issue that I requested Frontier to address was neglected repeatedly and then after numerous complaints, they used scrap pieces of rope to tie their cable to another cable(pictured below). It is a terrible solution that is not well done or responsibly addressed. It looks to be a temporary solution that Frontier has no interest in doing correctly. Frontier technicians informed us that the cable height was low and a liability but would not do anything to fix it unless the cable was broken. The cable hangs low through the vegetation and over the road, preventing taller maintenance or construction vehicles from using the road. This is Frontier's neglect of their infrastructure that is an inconvenience and hazard for others. This is an easy solution for Frontier to take care of and I want to leave a good review but they have done everything in their ability to ignore their customers. read more

Frontier Internet - Frontier's solution for a hazardously low cable is unprofessional and a band aid solution at best. This cable is an obstacle for the road - Telecommunications Near Me

Frontier is Becoming Another Cox - Untrustworthy Practices I switched to Frontier and even recommended it to my neighbors because Cox kept raising prices without notifying us. Unfortunately, Frontier has proven to be no better. When I signed up, my bill was $45.99. Without any notice, Frontier raised it to $59.99 over time. Meanwhile, the plan price in my area dropped to $29.99 shortly after I started. Instead of honoring the lower price, they quietly increased my bill without notifying me. This behavior is dishonest and preys on customers who don't monitor their bills every month. Yes, you can call in and get the price adjusted, but requiring your customers to catch these changes and fight for fairness is manipulative and unethical. If Frontier wants to maintain customer trust, they need to stop this shady behavior, be transparent about pricing, and honor the lower plan costs in their areas. Right now, they're no better than the competitors they claim to beat. read more

I allowed Frontier access to the underground box on my personal property behind my side gate. Atleast one port from that box went to a street behind us. They left NO port for the house, mine, for our service. I took 4 separate days off from work so I could secure our dogs dogs again and get service to our house. Frontier is now 0-4. Tired of taking time off work to allow Frontier access to our property but their management team cannot provide service for us, only to our neighbors. Thanks for nothing and wasting my time Frontier managers. The service individuals that show up are amazing and care, but their managers let them and us down. read more

I switched from local cable to Frontier based on claims of reliability, lower cost and speed. With Frontier, the tv requires the wifi signal to work. Wifi suddenly quit working two days ago. I'm at three full days without service. I was first told it was a hardware problem, and would take three days to get a tech to my house. I called back and was told it was possibly an outage to the area, though no outages were found using the Frontier outage link. Called back again to see what a third rep would say and they told me it was a local outage and they were on it. Got wifi for a bit, then went down suddenly again last night. Two calls to customer service and I'm being told it's an outage affecting ten homes. It's Super Bowl Sunday and Frontier hasn't been able to permanently fix this issue in over two days. Called back in the afternoon and was told it's an outage affecting 30 homes in the Santa Barbara area. Internet service is no longer a luxury. It's as basic a utility as water and power. No wifi means I can't work, among other things. The reps I've talked to have been pleasant and professional. However, due to the different stories I get depending on who I talk to at any moment, and that Frontier's own site tells me there's no service outage while the rep says there is, I'm not convinced I'm getting accurate information. Bottom line is that I don't recommend switching to Frontier if local cable works OK. It seems no faster, isn't much cheaper, and local cable was more reliable. BTW, this is not storm related. It's sunny, warm and there's no wind. I'd be outside if it wasn't for the Super Bowl, but tomorrow I've got to work and am doubting based on this experience that Frontier will have fixed the issue. Read Frontier's response to negative reviews. Same BS and no improvement. Wondering how long this outage lasts. Can't wait to see the same canned response to my review: "so sorry you were inconvenienced by our inability to repair a service outage over the course of at least three days, but please reach to us on twitter or fb so we can further ignore your issue..." I have a hard time believing that anyone is actually working on the problem. read more

Lets start off with as a hospitality business we expect emergency services that are paid for through a business package. Being without telephone service basically disables our ability for any interaction to provide a service and have business to our guests. First time we had rain damage on our phone panel. The technician came out 2 weeks later when it was dry and a random heatwave miraculously let the connections function. Tech said no problem and blamed it on the town getting new fibre optic. What a lie. Well just this past 2 weeks rain hit again and damaged our communications again. Took 11 days for a technician to arrive. Spoke to a representative from the Virgin Islands, and we are in California. He was helpful but the company itself is not helpful enough to get a business priority to fix next day service. They really really really blast your text messages to notify that they are confirming but want to make sure that they don't have to come out and want you to text FIXED so they can cancel. When the technician arrived, he barely said anything to our front desk and went to the panel said it was fixed and never returned to tell us what the problem was or even testing the lines inside our hotel. He apparently fixed it. But wow lack of communication from a communication technician was worse than not having a telephone to do business. At least tell us what the problem was with transparency before you go because if this happens again, we do not know what to explain if we certainly hope not to call again. So you can get an idea when you send out another incompetent tech that will take more than weeks to come. read more

For a tech company to assert the tech support needs to be requested on Twitter or Facebook is absurd - that's what their website is for. When I followed that advice: no response from their Facebook page, and their Twitter page is suspended. Now their cable to my telephone pole has fallen onto the ground, and there's no way to get in touch with them to get them to come deal with this. read more

I am really not impressed with Frontier's "service" when it comes to technical issues. The internet connection is fine as long as there are no problems, but as soon as there is one and you need help, you might as well forget it. My own Frontier internet broke down recently and when the tech came and "fixed" it, it started having problems again within minutes after he left. I made another appointment to have somebody come, between 5 and 9 this morning, and now it is almost 9 and nobody has shown up. I have also been very frustrated with Frontier's "service" when it comes to reaching them on the phone. There's nothing there but answering machines and rigid menus with very limited options. It makes me wonder if any actual human beings really work there, except for field techs who may or may not do their job. read more

BEWARE. We just switched to Frontier in hopes of more bandwidth. It worked for about 10 days and then didn't work at all. Frontier customer service is a nightmare. Hours on the phone and the best they can do it set up a technician 3+ weeks out. We work out of the house - we need the internet--3+ weeks?! The worst part is going in circles with no one at Frontier with the power to help make it right. We went to the address listed for the Frontier Santa Barbara office. It's a mailbox! On our way to change service back to COX unless a solution happens today. At least the customer service was manageable with COX. read more

Customer service is awful. My service went down 3 weeks ago as I was leaving on a vacation. I received several emails telling me that service was restored. You'll be sorry that you signed up with Frontier. As much as you might want to say "See you!" to Cox, Cox at least responds promptly when you have a problem. Trying to get help (technical support) from Frontier is like pissing into the wind. You want specifics? They reconnected our copper phone line (landline) more than two months ago. (VOIP doesn't work with our alarm system, so we figured that we could just reconnect our existing landline.) We've since made six or seven calls to Frontier technical support and it still doesn't work. (We're told: You've called the wrong number. (Jeez, sorry. I got it off your website.) You need a technician to come out. (They then send him a day before the scheduled appointment. We reschedule.) The technician says that it's a programming problem and he can't fix it. We call back again, and technical support says they need to send a technician. Etc., etc.) I get it that you're looking to Frontier for fiber optic and not a phone line, but friends who have gotten fiber optic from Frontier tell me that the only company with worse customer service is Spirit Airlines. You have been warned. read more

If I could choose anyone else I would. Frontier is the only option for landlines in a rural area here required to operate gates etc. Hour hold times are common. If you try to use their chat, they will lie and quote outrageous amounts of money. If you use another person on chat, you will get a different quote. Then if you place an order adding a service, the order will have to be verified. Their verification system doesn't work and then you're faced with waiting on hold for an hour, or dealing with people through chat who don't speak our language and seem to be helping 100 other people while not helping you. Go anywhere else if you can ... Frontier is awful. read more
