When we got to our gate, we were surprised that they weren't boarding yet, so they were already a little off schedule. An hour later, the screen at the gate was blank for the longest time and none of the workers were present. Another hour passes and one lady comes over to tell us that the flight had been cancelled. Then they tell us that they can either get a refund or book another flight with them... but not both. I ended up having to spend over $1000 on tickets from a different airline. Should've just went on a more expensive airline in the first place... I would've actually saved more money!! Long story short: if you wanna travel, you gotta have money. If only zero stars, or negative stars were possible. I have been flying all of my life, and have never had an experience even come close to how bad this one has been. We left, exactly 2 hours and 59 minutes late. Because, of course, at 3 hours, the airline is required to make compensation. Have, however, been now sitting on the ground, at almost midnight, for 30 minutes because, 'the gate is still occupied'. No blankets, no pillows, seats will not recline. The 3 person flight attendant team gossiped loudly in front of our row the entire flight, so, no peace. They charge for water! I do not know if I will ever get off this plane at this point, but I do know one thing. They could care less. We chose this flight because of flight times only. Not to save money. No check in until 2 hours before your flight? I have to drag my luggage around until then. If your hotel has an early check out & you think you're going to just sit at the airport, plan on luggage. We flew from Orlando to New Orleans. I would've never flew them again, but they issued a refund on our segment from Nashville to Orlando due to a FIFTEEN hour delay and once again we were delayed a few hours. On our flight back home we were delayed again and when the plane finally arrived instead of boarding by zones we heard over the intercom everyone could board. You can imagine the chaos this caused. Recently flew Allegiant with zero delays and friendly stewards. We even were able to fly out of Syracuse on Allegiant during winter storm Harper while Frontier, Jet Blue and many others flying into Orlando were canceled. If you're looking for a cheap airline go with Allegiant. No delays and a much better experience. read more

This is the most disgusting airline out there and I say that becauae of the way I was treated after I had been beaten while in the city I was visiting I booked an emergency flight home..I arrived at the airport 14 hours b4 my flight with two black eyes a broken cheek and explained that I had six dollars left to my name and in the rush to book the flight I didnt read about the baggage.. I was told to leave all my things by the trash can I could not take them with me, my mother offered her cc over the phone they refused and I was forced to leave some thing I can't replace behind. I've Heard a lot of negative reviews about frontier airlines. This past weekend was my first flight on frontier. I flew from New Orleans to Orlando to attend a funeral and had absolutely no problems with this airline. Smooth successful trip with no hiccups and the airplane seats weren't as cramped as I was led to believe. Maybe for a longer flight it would've been a little uncomfortable, but for an Hour and 45 minute flight there's nothing I can complain about. 4 out of 5 Stars..... read more

I realize that this YELP listing is simply for the location at the Louis Armstrong airport. Yes, I had to pay to check my bag. But the speed of the line was awesome! I booked a flight for Maris gras back in October not realizing my flight home was during the super bowl. I usually fly southwest but frontier was only $100 home compared to $250 southwest... Months in advance. Imagine my heartbreak when the Broncos made it to the super bowl. Flights home spiked to $500 in order to be able to catch the game. Fast forward to today, a day before super bowl 50 when my donkeys win it all. The 1245 flight home dropped to $95. I called and the certified dank supervisor waived all fees to change my flight. I fly on Frontier to my nephews funeral. I shoudl have switched on the first leg of the flight. The plane was delayed 4 hours and when we were finally ready to take off we had no flight crew. The flight made it to Orlando and we had 5 minutes to make our connection. We made the connection but our bags did not. Bags finally arrived in New Orleans Sunday night, I flew back to Phoenix on Monday. They refused to give me the money back for the paid you must pay for and offered me a $25 voucher. Here is my reply. "The offer of $25 only adds insult to injury. I do not understand how in good conscience you could make such an offer. I think the lack of integrity demonstrated by Frontier Airlines starts at the tops and filters all the way down to the bottom of your organization. I paid you in good faith expecting to receive the service that I paid for, if I had not paid you in full you would not have allowed me to fly. I do not understand how you can take my money and not provide me a service but still keep my money. This behavior is a disgrace to the industry. I did not get my bags, I had to spend $200 out of my pocket, I did not have my clothes for the funeral and you offered me $25. In the four flights I've taken on Frontier, I have yet to have an issue. I can't say the same for any other budget airline. The flight attendants are always nice and helpful, the flights have been smooth, and the seat room/comfortability is average enough. If it weren't for my one gripe with all budget airlines, I'd give it a 5, but they have to make money somewhere and they do it via bag charges. I typically use them for a weekend trip so I don't have to take bags but when even a carryon is around $40 each way on a cheap round trip flight, it makes me consider the actual savings vs the competition and potential for more comfort. Either way, good amount of destinations to choose from and they seem to still be growing. I will def grit my teeth and pay baggage fees to fly with them again! read more

Long story short, you get what you paid for. Let me tell you what $40 r/t plus $30 baggage fee will get you. Over worked staff. The lady who checked us in was the same lady who boarded us on the flight. No snacks on the plane, well, at least not the free ones. No TVs on the plane. Hard small seats. You can not bring anything extra, they charge for everything. On our flight to New Orleans their were two ladies across the aisle from us, when the third passenger didn't show for the outside seat the lady in the middle seat moved over into the aisle seat only to be told by the flight attendant that she could only move into that seat if she wanted to pay extra for it. When they say one bag on flight they mean one bag including purses. Plan accordingly, because they will stick to their rules and charge you if they can! The flight going was safe and my bags didn't get lost so I guess that is all that matters. I will fly again for the cheap price; however, if any other airline had flights for the same price I would easily choose to fly with another carrier. Happy Yelping :) read more

Horrible customer service. No body at the ticket counter people standing in line. 20 minutes after them paying someone to come to the ticket are she walks up slowly texting on her cell phone. Continues to stay on the phone Now to the gate. Flight delayed over 39 minutes at this point. No plane at the end of the ramp and the Frontier worker refuses to close the door. It's freezing outside and the cold air is blowing through the door. Are you people trying to make others sick???? This is ridiculous. A HANDICAP man went up to an employee for your airline to see what was the status of our FOUR HOUR delayed flight, the weather is PERFECT in New Orleans, and she totally brushed him off totally disregard that he was present and started to communicate with other passengers, his question was to see if she'd call anyone to see if they can help assist him to the bathroom, get food, and to freshen up the BASIC HUMAN necessities. If you have an important event, do not trust Frontier Airline to get you there. I would not recommend this airline to anyone. I missed my birthday vacation because Frontier delayed my flight a whopping 9 times. On top of that, I was given meal vouchers that I was not able to use because of their absolutely ridiculous policy. Frontier does not prioritize the customer. I wasn't given any kind of compensation for this terrible experience. The agents over the phone don't have the same information the agents behind the counter have. Frontier Airlines is terrible. My fault, I knew better, but I thought I was saving money when in fact I was not! Wouldn't give a refund for a bag I didn't have, check in online takes forever because there are 5-6 steps with each step asking you to pay more money, baggage fees are non-refundable, and by the time you check out to purchase your tickets the price that you started with has doubled. Ridiculous. And drinks and snacks cost extra too! So frustrating....feel like I was just throwing money in the trash. We came to check in at the allegiant airlines kiosk (terrible airline) and when no one was there to help us, Andrew from Frontier went out of his way to do everything he could to get us to our flight. It's a bummer I didn't pay more attention to the two different airlines that we'd booked on Travelocity for our trip to New Orleans. The outbound flights were on Fronteir. If there is anyone left in the world that doesn't already know that they are the ABSOLUTE worst airline, I'm here to tell you to avoid it all costs. First, everything including your carryon and seat assignment, even water is an extra charge. Second, they flat out canceled the flight we were originally booked on 5 weeks before our trip and there original offer to fix would have put us in New Orleans after our cruise left - they did after much discussion, get us on a flight a day earlier than our original date (which cost us an extra night hotel stay with no offer for compensation). Third, of course, our flight was delayed (2hrs) altogether with not one announcement of why (weather from sfo was perfect, no other flights out of our terminal, etc). Fourth, when we finally got to board the plane there was still no mention of why we were behind, no mention to move quickly to make up time, nothing and many of us had connections. It seemed to drag on forever and the flight attendants were standing around laughing and talking. Fifth, when asked politely by a passenger if we could have a status update, the flight attendant rolled her eyes, turned around and walked away to the cockpit. She came back stating "it's just paperwork". Really? My hard earned money that bought this ticket and all the fricken fees have to count for something and will NEVER go to another Fronteir flight again. Sorry, to post a gripe by if I can save anyone the heartache of this deplorable service then it's for good. read more

If I could give them a zero rating, I would. One star is too generous. They changed my flight so that the first flight left later and my connecting flight left earlier and failed to tell me this. I confirmed my return flight when my trip started (frontier was return only, took united for departing flight to Nola) and found the error myself - even on the "my flights" confirmation page there was no alert or anything. Called them and have spent already easily 10+ hours on the phone with them. Terrible service. They hire people who can hardly speak English and they put me on the "next available" connecting flight, which was 22 hours after I landed at the connecting airport. Zero compensation, zero accommodations, zero meal vouchers. Called customer relations where I was on hold for 3 hours and 5 minutes before someone picked up and he referred to some "compensation matrix" which he refused to let me see and said he could offer me a $30 voucher bc this was classified as a "mere inconvenience." Just the tip of the iceberg. Asked for voucher to be emailed to me, woman (speaking to a diff rep) said she confirmed it was just emailed to me and I asked her to tell me what my email address was and she responded "oh. Looks like we don't have your email address on file." This is just the tip of the iceberg. I can't justify spending any more time on them. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD AND NEVER TAKE FRONTIER AIRLINES AGAIN!!!!!! read more

I'll never fly Frontier again after the poor customer service and attitude I received 2 weekends ago. I'm a pretty frequent flyer, and I always get to the New Orleans airport about 45 min before my flight since the airport is so small. I arrived 40 min early because of a big event causing extra traffic in the city, but I was checked in online and just needed to print my boarding pass. Not one staff member was at the counter, and the kiosks were out of service. About 8 others were in the same situation and outraged that no one was there. An employee strolls up 10 min before the flight and said we were too late. Should have arrived "45 minutes" before the flight. She was totally insensitive to our concerns and unprofessional in tone. She said we couldn't fly out again until the next day, which wasn't an option for me. I ran down to Southwest and they got me on a flight that left in 15 min. That's true customer service!! I'll never fly Frontier again. I explained my situation after the fact to try and get a refund, and they said I should have arrived "2 hours" early. Frontier should take notes from Southwest because after reading reviews below mine, I seem to be one of many that are unimpressed. read more

FRONTIER Airlines SUCKS!! our flight was delayed but we still arrived at the airport 2 hours prior to our flight. We checked in and checked our bags, then went to get something to eat. About 30 minutes prior t our departure we went to go through TSA 45 and the TSA was closed!! We talked to the sheriff at the airport, who called down to the Frontier gate, and they just told him we would need to rebook for tomorrow. Since we couldn't get through security they wouldn't let us on the flight. Frontier Airlines never communicated to TSA that the flight was delayed, so they thought there was no more flights going out. The people at the Frontier desk had already left (despite them having a flight that haven't yet departed). Frontier wouldn't even give us a voucher for the night, we have absolutely nothing because our bags are on the flight! We spent an hour on the phone with customer service, who told us all kinds of lies like that we haven't checked in (I had the boarding passes in my hand), we were "late arriving passengers" (we arrived @ 6:40pm for our 8:56 flight). read more

The check in and gate personnel are rude and dismissive at both SLC and New Orleans-too interested in their own conversations to even engage customers and our bag ended up costing us as much as an additional seat since even though we had already paid a 60$ bag fee, on the way home it magically weighed "too much" and we were charged an additional 75$ just for a one way flight home. Robbery! Miserably uncomfortable seats. If you think you're going to save money by booking with Frontier, think again. You will spend more with unexpected fees when you can least afford it.
