I bought an 8' Christmas tree in 2008. Paid $900 for the tree. I figured this would last for years because Frontgate items are such high quality. Nope...a piece of the stand broke in 2012, and got it welded. Then this year the stand broke totally off the frame of the tree. I contacted a Frontgate product specialist to be informed that as of 2013, all tree are now warranted for life, but in 2008 they were only warranted for one year. So "sorry Charley". I guess they got their design flaws worked out during that time. Go somewhere else to buy a tree. There are many other excellent companies out there. read more

Worst experience not once but twice. First ordered umbrellas that were "billed" as deliverable in two weeks. they never came and when I followed up was told the timing was "uncertain". Needed them for a party that would be two weeks later and was told to expect them days before. Received a UPS notice that said they were delivered to my front door. No such delivery!!! Wow. I am on month three of trying to get the correct covers for my outdoor furniture. I bought almost $20k of their furniture and one of their 'product specialists' matched each piece with one of their furniture covers. Three of them didn't fit the furniture when they arrived. I called they asked for more money to order others then took weeks to deliver them. They one was still wrong. So they charged me more money and sent me the exact same cover they originally did. Then I called back, no one was available, left a message. No one ever called me back. I called again the woman said I should speak to a 'product specialist' because she was unfamiliar with their products. No thanks that didn't work. I'm really disappointed with your company and service. We ordered the beautiful World Map as a Christmas gift, which was supposed to come with 50 pins. We ended up getting only 20 pins, but they were long, nice quality pins. We contacted you via email and phone, and finally got a response that we'd get replacement pins. That took several weeks. When the package finally arrived, the pins were completely different, half the size and of very cheap plastic quality, not to mention again...not the right number of pins. We called immediately, and explained the whole situation We even emailed photos of the different quality pins. We were assured that they would rectify the situation. We waited another several weeks, even though this was supposed to be a Christmas gift, and it was now mid-January. When we finally got the new replacement, they were exactly the same half sized low quality ugly plastic pins, and again, not the full amount. Since then, I've called several times, emailed several times, and been told we'd get the correct amount. However, we were finally told by someone on our last call (first week in February), that the long pins were discontinued because they were a choking hazard, and they were not able to send those. We were assured that we'd get replacement pins to at least complete the 50 short cheap pin set, but we are still waiting. I am almost sure I will never order from Frontgate again. Save yourself the aggravation by never shopping at Frontgate! I bought a $1,000 outdoor umbrella that arrived as if packaged by toddlers (completely falling apart). We pulled the product out to assemble, but there were no directions. After downloading directions, we proceeded to the first step of filling the base with 200 lbs of sand. Next step was to put the umbrella in the stand BUT A CRITICAL PIECE NEEDED WAS MISSING! So, now we just have a useless 200+ lb paperweight, and I'm told the key piece is on back order until late summer. To add insult to injury, they won't credit back my card unless I have their trucking company come pick the thing up (of course that means I have to dispose of all the sand in the base). This is not the first time I've had issues with Frontgate. My father's birthday gift was delayed for nearly 3 months a few summers ago, and then they mailed it to the wrong address. We were told that if we returned them that the original purchase price would go to the original purchaser (i.e. not us). Our second option was to exchange them for a similar product (this product had no variation). We have been long time Frontgate shoppers and have had wonderful experiences. This summer furniture we ordered keeps getting pushed back, so now it looks like 6 months at best for a delivery date. Another item we ordered was canceled by frontgate and they didn't refund us our money. My husband went to check on a delivery date and saw the item was canceled and asked if I did it. We called and they told us it was don't on their end because the item was taking to long to get in stock. No phone call or email to us, just canceled and no refund either. Who does that? I'm very disappointed with this company. Their stuff isn't as nice as appears in the catalogue. Further, their pricing is tricky - they offer multiple discounts, however when you order, they only honor one. I ordered a couple of barstools at a 25% discount, free shipping, but they only honored the 25% which I didn't pick up on until the chairs were delivered. They'd sent a confirmation email after I placed the order that showed the shipping charge, however I didn't review it - didn't think I needed to as I thought the transaction was what they'd advertised. How do you offer two discounts simultaneously then only honor one? - seems very shady. The chairs didn't work, so not only do I have to pay the $119 they charged to ship the chairs to me, I also have to pay to return them. I'm intending now to discuss this transaction with AMEX, to see if I can avoid the $119 charge, but wanted to 'get the word out' to future purchasers that you need to understand the transaction, it changes without notification. read more

We just purchased the $700 Coventry dog crate. It came with a defective piece which came in a large package. They agreed to send the new box so that I could switch the bad with the good. The assembly of this item was a nightmare with two people. Parts had to be forced in to place and in turn split or chipped off all together. When assembling the top piece we noticed there was a slight gouge . We thought we could just replace from the replacement box only to find out that that piece was missing the slide inserts that allow the doors to open back and forth. We decided to finish the unit with what we had. Now the right side door rubs against the finish every time it opens. The front gate response was to send a third box. No way we were going to do that. I suggested that they either send a new assembled crate or send a technician out to fix this. Both ideas were rejected because they said "we are only a catalog company". Made a purchase with a gift card and paid the remaining with credit card. I needed to return an item and the amount has been placed back on the gift card. I spend $45 over the gift card and the return was $30. Therefore I should have been given a refund on my card. Nope - they will only give me a gift card so now I have to buy something I don't need. Very poor service. Due to website glitch, during ordering my initials for towel monogram were not requested. I emailed the initials to them immediately. Next day rec'd email asking me to call. Did so. On hold for 5 minutes while rep consulted supervisor. She then told me towels had already shipped without monogram, but that I could refuse the order on delivery by UPS. In fact (as per their email with UPS tracking number) they were not shipped for two more days, during which time Frontgate could have monogrammed the towels as advertised.
