Ooo and the corner with all the clowns! Drinks are strong and cheap. The bartenders are friendly. There's a patio, but it's a bit small. There are plenty of comfy chairs/couches. They have live music pretty often, so if that's your thing, you'll be happy there on weekend nights. The only thing is the space is kind of small for live music, so it can get really loud. This is an excellent chill option if you're in Hallowell and want to skip bars that tend to get a bit fratty like The Quarry Taproom. Highly recommend!

It was more a stew than a pie. So much liquid (gravy?) and cheese that I remarked, this might make me sick, right before I stopped eating it. My fault, but I was so hungry. It made me sooooo sick. The grease was the most prevalent thing on the dish. I was shaking my fist at myself for eating that slop, as I wretched my well earned money into the toilet. I won't be going back here. Mostly because whoever decides what goes on the menu, has a SERIOUS judgement problem. But also because every time I pick up my to go order there's a bunch of awkwardness as I stand directly behind whatever customer is sitting at the end of the bar. I went there with a group of 4 of us and every dish was excellent and reasonably priced. I ordered a Caesar Salad and the Brick Chicken. The salad was very well prepared and had a very light Caesar dressing that picked up the flavor from the lemon garnish and bite-sized garlic toast croutons. The Brick Chicken was a perfectly prepared and succulent piece of chicken with crispy skin that was served on a bed of rice with lime and orange garnishes. The other dish I tasted was the Vegetable en croute, which was an eastern European style vegetable dish with a phyllo dough crust. This dish was good, but not great. I would go with the brick chicken if you are deciding between the two options. However, you won't be going wrong with either choice. My other friends ordered the Pork Osso Bucco and the Steak frites and had great things to say about both of these dishes as well. If you are looking for a more upbeat ambiance you can find that downstairs in the suds pub. This place looked really fun and has live music. It also worth noting that you can order the pub food in the bistro as well if you are looking for that type of fare in a mellower ambiance. We also ate at the Black Diamond Steakhouse while we were in town. Everyone agreed that Bistro 151 is a superior restaurant all around from a both a service and food perspective.

I had a lobster roll here as they offer it warm with butter and not with mayo. You actually had the choice of cold with mayo or the correct way (warm with butter). It was $19 which was lower than other spot's market price and while it was maybe smaller than some, it was the perfect size for me. It really was well done. The roll was warm, buttery & toasted to have enough crisp. The lobster was cooked to perfection. My dinner companion got muscles in broth and was also a big fan. They definitely use the same fryer for both which is disappointing. I ordered plain wings, French Onion Soup, and a piece of Fish. The FOS was actually really good, although had a peppery taste which I have never had before. The wings were good, 8 come per order. The side of fish was also good. They have an extensive selection of whiskey, scotch and bourbon, including flights in case you want to try a few. The atmosphere is very cozy and comfortable inside. Someday I would love to try their tiny raw bar...which is on the middle floor, between the first and second floor and has 2 bar stools and a 2 person high top table...that is all there is room for in this tiny space.
