the service department is terrible. Trying to upcharge labor above and beyond the 200.00 deductible for our extended warranty. They agreed to fix the vehicle under the extended warranty and then added several hundred dollars of extra labor charges stating that their mechanics make more money than the warranty pays. BUYER BEWARE: DOUBLE-CHECK YOUR PAPERWORK BEFORE YOU SIGN! I want to start this review by giving a big shoutout to my sales representative, Heather, and finance manager, Devon. They were fantastic to work with, and I have zero complaints about their professionalism and customer service during my recent vehicle purchase from Front Royal Buick GMC. The Experience: My journey began on January 8, 2025, when I drove an hour and a half to check out a few trucks I had seen on the dealership's website. As I was driving through the lot, Heather was standing outside in the freezing cold and stopped to greet me. She immediately grabbed some keys, and we started looking at the truck I was most interested in. After a test drive, we sat down to go over the numbers. Unfortunately, with my trade-in, we were too far apart in price to make a deal that day. After returning home, I listed my vehicle on Facebook Marketplace and sold it within two days for $9,500 more than the trade-in offer from the dealership. With my trade-in out of the equation, I reached back out to Heather and asked for the best price on a different truck they had on the lot--same year, make, model, and trim, just with slightly different options. She sent me a photo of the deal, which included my name, address, phone number, dealership details, vehicle information, and a full breakdown of all line items: Retail Price, Savings + Rebate, Selling Price, Taxes, Doc Fee, Government Fee, and the total out-the-door price. I called Heather shortly after receiving the deal and told her I wanted to move forward with the purchase. Since I likely wouldn't be able to return until the end of the week, I asked if I could put down a deposit to hold the vehicle. She informed me that the dealership didn't accept deposits, but I decided to go ahead and start the credit application anyway. The Bait-and-Switch Attempt: The next day, I found a ride and made the 1.5-hour drive back to the dealership to finalize the deal. When I arrived, Heather told me the truck was in the detailing bay. She brought it over, I took it for a final test drive, and then I was ready to sign the paperwork. However, when I sat down at her desk, I noticed that the deal sheet had changed. The same document format was there--with my information--but the total price was now different from what we had previously agreed upon. A new $1,995 charge had been added for "shipping and freight," along with an additional $1,000 in discounts, meaning the total was now $995 higher than the agreed-upon price. I immediately pointed this out to Heather, who went to get the sales manager. The sales manager came over, and I showed him the original deal sent to me on my phone. His response? "We're losing money on this deal... etc., etc." Then he tried justifying the charge by saying: "Well, if you look at the website, we can charge... etc., etc." I asked him point-blank: "Am I supposed to receive an official deal sheet from you and then go cross-check fine print on the website?" At that point, I was ready to walk out without the vehicle. As I got up, the sales manager asked me to give him a minute and walked back to his desk. After some back-and-forth, he returned and agreed to honor the original deal. I finalized the paperwork and left with the truck that evening. Final Thoughts: This was, without a doubt, the shadiest situation I have ever encountered at a dealership. This was a 100% bait-and-switch move, hoping I wouldn't notice the added fee and would just accept it since I had already sold my vehicle and driven 1.5 hours to get this one. Yes, in the grand scheme of an $84,000 purchase, $995 isn't a huge amount--but this was about principle. If they had honored the original deal from the start, this would have been an easy five-star review. I've only been here for service but every time has been great. On my next purchase I would certainly consider these folks and will update my review should that happen. You can schedule an appointment online and when you arrive they are ready for you. Service is completed quickly and without issue. Staff is always polite. I have never been asked to authorize any repairs that I didn't go in for. I have never felt like they were trying to get any more money out of me. I've also witnessed staff deal with many other customers while I wait - never have I witness staff trying to oversell to any other customer. In fact, I've seen on several occasions where staff have identified a problem to keep an eye on, but don't recommend spending money on it just yet. The facilities aren't the newest but there are chairs, coffee, and a TV in the waiting area. I don't need anything else. Unlike most other places, I don't feel like I need a shower when I leave. These guys have always treated me with respect and honesty and have never tried to sell me anything extra. I don't hesitate giving them my business or recommending others go here. read more

Very shady dealership. Purchasing experience was fine, but after buying a $70k Denali I discovered multiple issues with the vehicle. The did not perform an oil change or the proper maintenance on the vehicle before selling it. They also didn't fix a hazard recall. I kept being told that the service director would call me, he never did. When I called him, he was unwilling to take care of the issues. read more

I've never felt more compelled to write a review than I do now. My family and I were traveling to Luray on a camping trip via Front Royal and stopped for gas at the Sunoco station about a mile away from the dealership, 30ft camper in tow. After filling up, the truck wouldn't start...low battery. At 4:55pm on a Friday afternoon, I call the dealership and spoke with Scott in the parts department. He indicated they had a replacement in stock (very unique battery), and I told him that I'll be there in 15 minutes (walking), but he generously offered to drive the battery to me. Best personal service to a sight unseen customer that I've ever witnessed, at closing time on a Friday. I live over an hour away, but will consider driving the distance to purchase my next GMC simply because of Scott and his dealership's gracious service. THANK YOU! read more

This business gets 5 stars from me when it comes to sales. When I bought my car Jason was awesome. He was attentive to what I wanted and I got a good deal on the car. The repairs center however receives a one. I have had issues with them every time I try to get something fixed. One time they will say that my rotors for my brakes won't pass inspection and the next they say they have nothing on file about my car needing the rotors changed. I'm done working with this dealership. Time to fund one that will actually listen and be willing to work on my car. read more

I came in here a few times looking at an enclave. My salesperson, Mike, was very nice and attentive. Whenever his boss, Brian, got involved in the sale I felt cold shouldered and bullied. He would not listen to my wants or needs and continuously pushed me into an overpriced used car. Not one of my visits did he act like he wanted to close a sale or even try and work numbers. I felt it necessary to write a negative review to a business like this one. I've never felt so disrespected as I have at this place than any other car service business. Not to mention how utterly sexist they seem to be with female customers and how we seem to not know much. I won't type out my whole story of what they did but hope this one star prevents others from suffering this horrendous customer service. The waiting times just to get a question answered is even more atrocious and perplexing considering they had five grown men in their work uniforms stand behind the desk staring out in space as they continued to do their job of doing absolutely nothing. I bought a 2007 Chevy Trailblazer from them in July last year and highly upset with myself for buying from these scum bags. They are the typical, shady, used car dealership. They act very nice and professional but please save yourself the headache and money and go somewhere else! We agreed on the price and I asked them to fill up the tank as apart of the agreement, they agreed. After filling out all the paper work we get to the gas station and the associate will only give me $30 worth of gas, the tank was empty.The associate refused to fill it up saying his boss (the guy who sold me the vehicle) said to only fill it up to $30, after i just spent 14k on a car! Since buying i have realized my transmission is slipping and is going to be needed to be replaced. Only the front right and back left speaker worked, so had to be replaced. I got a flat tire and went to replace it and what do you know, no tire or jack! Now the front master panel has broken and is going to cost me $500 to replace/install. Also the tires were bald, something that i should have checked before buying but you shouldn't have to check when a company holds itself to high standards. WE are new customers to Shenandoah motors...We lived in Winchester for 20 yrs and recently moved back to front royal...upon arrival to town every consumer looks and needs a good SHOP..to get your vehichle worked on..... CHUCK the service advisor would not go the extra mile to do something petty WITHOUT a MGRs approval...which was giving thank goodness...but Glenn needs to get his staff in a much friendlier demeanor from a customer stand point...but overall our 1st experience was good price wise but there customer service friendliness needs to approve definitely but we might return...but if you like waiting 2 hrs for something that should've taken 1 hr and getting not so friendly service then go to service dept...but the fact they gave us a good price on the work is what most customers worry about...but there lengthy waits and not so friendly attitudes is why im giving them 3 stars...they are just avg ... read more

I bought a used Toyota FJ at Shenandoah Buick GMC and thought they were very professional and worked with me very fairly on price.

I went there to get a part ordered for my truck, they looked at my truck and ordered the part. I was required to pay in advance for the part which was not a problem. They told me they would call when the part arrived and I never received a call. Several months went by when I remembered that I had ordered it and had never received any notification that it had arrived. I went over to pick up the part and didn't have a receipt to prove I had ordered it there for having to dig through almost a years worth of papers to find it. After finding the receipt I returned to the dealership to prove I had ordered it so I could pick it up. After picking it up, I never checked to see if it was the correct part that was supposed to have been ordered. A few months go by until I am able to install said part- but upon opening the box it is the wrong part. Went back to the dealership, and they refused to exchange it for the right part due to the fact that i did not have the receipt in hand. It is very odd that they have no log of what part was ordered in their system , under my name. Not only did they refuse to exchange it but I was also informed they could not do anything unless I wanted to order another part. It was a interior door handle for a company truck. If your looking for good service do not come here for it, they only care about making money, no follow up or customer care. Now I'm stuck with a wrong door handle that can't be used. read more

It's not often that I get to give high remarks and praise for a car buying experience, but Shenandoah Buick GMC did an amazing job with the entire car buying experience. We had been looking for either a 2014 or 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe for several months and had spoken with some local Chevrolet Dealerships in our area and was turned off by the lack of interest in finding us the Tahoe we were looking for. If the vehicle wasn't currently sitting on their lot and an immediate sales wasn't to be had, it seemed like they didn't want to work to find use one. I was introduced to Shenandoah Buick GMC's sales and management team and my experience did a complete 180. I was greeted with a passionate sales team that listened, wanted to find out what we were looking for and spent the time to locate the perfect vehicle for our family and a great price. We live in Loudoun County and decided to purchase a vehicle from a dealership 50 miles away without ever having to step foot into the dealership. The difference was that they went out of their way to find us the right car and not just make a sale. I was given an above average trade-in value for our used vehicle and walked away feeling like I got the best deal possible and believe me, I had spent several months searching other dealerships inventory, taking with salesmen and searching through cars.com. At the end of the day Shenandoah Buick GMC not only had the best price, they also had the best customer service and provided an easy, straightforward and honest car buying experience. We were able to complete the entire process over the phone, minus the 15 minutes it took signing the paperwork and they actually drove over an hour to us to deliver the vehicle, sign the paperwork and trade-in our old car. I was sent several video's and pictures of the Tahoe before we selected the one that we wanted and we were presented multiple options from different lenders for loan rates and duration and also for an extended warranty. Shenandoah Buick GMC was very easy to work, has great customer service and can get the best deals on any make of vehicle new or used. I've taken my cars there for years for repairs. I left for a time because I felt the service department was dishonest and I kept paying for the same repairs, but I went back because of a change in personnel. I gave them a second chance and I believed everything they said. I did every repair they suggested but my cars kept having issues. I was accused of not maintaining my cars even though I spent thousands of dollars. I overheard a conversation in which the service department manager and someone else were discussing having to increase revenues. About that time, I started noticing I was spending way too much keeping my cars going. I would spend thousands and have to go back and spend more. Recently I had the air conditioner worked on. I had them fix it and it made weird noises. First they said it didn't, but then they said needed to replace the blower motor. I spent over a thousand on that and on the way home I noticed it was hot air coming out of the vents. I called and I was told that at least the blower motor worked. They would not look at the air conditioner the next few times I went in. Turns out it was out of freon and required another few thousand in repairs from a decent dealership. Also regarding another of my cars, Shenandoah motors said my car needed a sensor for the brakes. They said the issue was solved, but as I left the dealership, the brake light came on again. They said it needed another part that took thirty days to get. Ninety days later, no part. They said the car would pass inspection regardless of the brake issue, but then said it wouldn't. Not drivable without an inspection sticker, I left the car with them in January 2015. Then they said the abs part of the brakes had to be rebuilt. They took the part from my car and sent it somewhere. They never would tell me where they sent it. I asked repeatedly. They said they had checked on it and it would be done when it was done. After months of not being told where the part was, I called the main Chevrolet number to ask them to find out where my part was. They didn't tell me either. After having had enough of Shenandoah motors incompetence, I had the car towed. The tires were flat and the battery was dead. To this day, Shenandoah motors never told me the part was lost. They won't tell me who they sent it to. The Chevrolet person assigned to help me get the car repaired told me the part was lost, but he said fed ex lost it after it was repaired. Turns out, according to the Chevrolet person, Shenandoah motors only called whoever they sent my part to once. They told me they were constantly calling. All of a sudden Shenandoah motors found another broken part that will take who knows how long to be fixed, assuming it can be fixed. And the odd thing is that this part is hard to get and I've waited for months. After my part goes missing, they are able to find a part no one else can find. Granted it's broken, but I don't trust them and I don't understand why they misdirected me about what was going on with my car. I will never take my cars to them again and I won't buy a car from them. I don't understand why they won't tell me what happened to my car and why they let my car go like that. They have refused to let me know where they sent it. I went to the police station for answers and now I'm told the part was never fixed and it appears it's been missing for months. Can't get a consistent story. No one seems to know where my brake part was sent or if it was fixed or not. They won't give me a tracking number. Meanwhile the car is not drivable or probably not even sellable without brakes. It's frustrating not being kept informed and they just didn't tell me anything. They should have kept me informed and they should have told me that they lost my part. They left screws in my car as well. When I took the car to them, all the parts were there. Now, the abs system is out and it's missing. I left the car with them for almost six months and it's not fixed and I don't know that it can be fixed. I feel this is a dishonest dealership and I feel pretty stupid for having fallen for their crap. Turns out they had me replace spark plugs twice in the last six months, but they told me I hadn't done it. I thought I had. Turns out I was right. They just wanted to increase revenue and my cars were never properly taken care of there. read more
