If I could give ten stars on a five star review I would give it to Joe Sackett and Sons. They have…read moreserviced my cars for over two decades. I tend to be a tough and leery customer, especially with something as big as cars, because I knew little about them. From the first oil change they had me hooked. Of all car service businesses I've ever dealt with, the owners and staff are the most honest, reasonable people, and their work is top notch. They will tell you what you absolutely have to have done, what you don't have to worry about, and what you should watch for and call if there's a problem. They find the best prices possible on parts. Since I drive cars till they are almost dead, they have been awesome about finding used parts to save me money. Their labor costs aren't shabby either. They serviced my Chevy until I finally donated it at 369k miles. They serviced my Pontiac, and then two Toyota Priuses, my second now at 359k miles. When hybrids came out they took it upon themselves to train in these specialized cars, and even trained in replacing the hybrid battery, which is a dangerous job. In 2007 I relocated 60 miles from Front Royal and reluctantly chose other auto repair businesses in Loudoun county. I was very displeased with anyone else I went to. Not only did they charge too much, it seemed like they were always looking for additional jobs to pad their profits with my meager savings. Finally, one day I called Don, and at that time, Karl, and said, "Help!" So, from Loudoun County, and now from West Virginia, I drive the distance for all my services and repairs. When they finally dropped Saturday mornings from their hours, I went to taking time off my job to get there, because THEY ARE WORTH IT. Now, I'm working on buying a new car. That will be my fifth car they will service. My only wish is they outlive me, because I never want to have to go to anyone else. I trust them with my car; I'd trust them with my life.

Later,…read moreHaydee M. called to say the aftermarket part they ordered didn't fit, so they would need to order a dealer part, which would take another week to arrive. At no point during that conversation was it mentioned that the cost would increase significantly, yet there was no problem telling me they found another problem that needed fixed. When I went to pick up my car, I was shocked to find the total was over $1,800. That's a major increase that should have been clearly communicated beforehand. If I had been informed, I could have decided whether to move forward with the repair. Instead, I was put in a position where I had no choice but to pay in order to get my car back. On top of that, after looking up the cost of the parts, it appears they mark them up by at least 40%. Proceed with caution. People don't write bad reviews for absolutely no reason.
