I opted for the "Pasta Boat" house pie (pizza) which was fantastic. It consisted of mushrooms, roasted red peppers, black olives, arugula, and balsamic.....OH MY! So good! They also have gluten free crust (cauliflower) if you like that dietary option. We sat at a high top table towards the back and watched their amazing kitchen staff work seamlessly together like an orchestra. We joked that it was like sitting at the chef's table which we loved. The restaurant was busy and vibrant but not too noisy inside. There is also outside patio seating. Be aware that if you are on the waitlist you have 10 minutes once you receive the text notification to return to the restaurant before your name is booted out of the system and taken off of the list.

The restaurants just do not do it. After calling several places closer to us, we eventually landed on Gerry's. It was difficult to find their menu online (much like the rest of Cape Charles). Gerry's is located right outside of the main drag of Cape Charles (I think) and the location is definitely easy to miss if you are driving at night. The building really sits on its own. Using the to-go window only (apparently they don't allow people inside right now) we picked up two sandwiches and a pizza. We were honestly just so thrilled to find a place in Cape Charles to get dinner that didn't require us to dine-in, especially after a super long car ride. I really enjoyed our shrimp pizza, which we ordered with white sauce. It comes with fresh mozzarella and garlic and is a really different type of pizza to order. We had it in the fridge for leftovers for days. It heated up surprisingly well. The gals working at Gerry's were nice and helpful and I think for the people that live here this is a solid local watering hole for pizza.

They opened up about a month or so ago. I live about 80 min away from Cape Charles. So I generally I plan a day trip to visit. My kiddos and I had a Monday trip this week. I was worried they may not be open since sometimes Monday's are a day businesses close to recover from the summer weekend rush. But, they were open! When we arrived we headed straight back to where they are located inside of Table & Tonic.... Super cute store by the way. They still had a pretty good selection around 12:30pm. We picked up some sandwiches, chips, pasta salad, soda and their homemade desserts. They have a whole self checkout system set up. You bag it, and pay for it all on your own. They have plastic wear and condiment packets if needed. The male there (assuming owner) was great. He was attentive and helped a customer chose their sandwich... which ended up being the chicken salad. The sandwiches were fantastic! Fresh and tasty! My favorite was The Virginia. It was like a chicken Caesar salad on focaccia. The bread was perfect, not hard at all. My children raves about the chicken salad sandwich. Their two pasta salad options are a perfect accompaniment to the sandwiches. One is a creamy base and the other is more of an oil and vinegar type of base. Both were absolutely delicious! The salads looked fresh and the homemade desserts were a sweet bonus to everything. I do wish there is lighter options, as tthey do not weigh so heavy on the stomach for the beach. Made my way inside and from the moment I entered I knew it was a locals and I was welcomed. I started with a Rolling Rock in a bottle not an oil can. Not even looking at the menu I ordered a cheeseburger and fries. The bartender even read some specials to me but no I didn't take her advice. She had mentioned spaghetti and meatballs w/garlic bread. The burger take a bit to cook, it was a fat one. The burger arrived and it looked great w/LTO. Then someone ordered the special and it came out. Don't get me wrong the burger was grand but I did just have a burger the day before and spaghetti and meat balls looked better. Next time I'll listen. My husband ordered the NY Strip special, I ordered the fried oyster app (gluten free again!), and my daughter ordered the blackened shrimp mac and cheese. Everything was delicious and the mac and cheese was enough for multiple leftover meals, which my daughter already heated some up once and it was just as good as it was when we were there. We will definitely be back on our next trip up to Cape Charles. I would have scored it 5 stars but the service was very slow even with it not being that busy.
