TL;DR: Restaurants in Cape Charles do NOT do takeout, but Gerry's does…read more When a family wedding brought us to Cape Charles, we learned an extremely interesting lesson: it's near impossible to find takeout in the town. The restaurants just do not do it. After calling several places closer to us, we eventually landed on Gerry's. It was difficult to find their menu online (much like the rest of Cape Charles). Gerry's is located right outside of the main drag of Cape Charles (I think) and the location is definitely easy to miss if you are driving at night. The building really sits on its own. Using the to-go window only (apparently they don't allow people inside right now) we picked up two sandwiches and a pizza. We were honestly just so thrilled to find a place in Cape Charles to get dinner that didn't require us to dine-in, especially after a super long car ride. I really enjoyed our shrimp pizza, which we ordered with white sauce. It comes with fresh mozzarella and garlic and is a really different type of pizza to order. We had it in the fridge for leftovers for days. It heated up surprisingly well. The gals working at Gerry's were nice and helpful and I think for the people that live here this is a solid local watering hole for pizza.

When the bill came and the were $8 extra in charges on the bill for fries, my husband asked the woman taking payment to take it off the bill because the waitress inferred it was included. After crossing it was getting close to noon and again I investigated another place, this one. Not even looking at the menu I ordered a cheeseburger and fries. The bartender even read some specials to me but no I didn't take her advice. She had mentioned spaghetti and meatballs w/garlic bread. The burger take a bit to cook, it was a fat one. The burger arrived and it looked great w/LTO. Then someone ordered the special and it came out. Don't get me wrong the burger was grand but I did just have a burger the day before and spaghetti and meat balls looked better. Next time I'll listen. The sausage is actual sausage shavings versus lumps of sausage. The Sicilian is a thick crust. It's tasty but one piece is very filling. The round is a thin style.
