First things First, this restaurant is an Experience". You don't come for the food. You come for the trains. Great place for your Train enthusiasts. Expect to be Awed by trains bringing you your meals. 2. There are no waiters. Expect that No one will be checking on you. Menus are on the table. And you put your order in through the phone. Again, when your food is ready the trains will bring you your meal. They may come around and check on you but if they're busy. Don't be upset if they don't. Let's go what is that? Where did you get that from? Get that napkin wipe your hands that is gross all right let's go put all your trash in the tub. 3. Everything on the menu as à la carte... which means expect for the total on the tab to rack up pretty quickly. This go round I only paid for my 2 kids to eat. (See receipt) $25 for fries. French Toast. 4 sausage Links and 2 20oz drinks. Some may feel this is reasonable. Some may feel this is steep. (Again, it's the experience you are paying for) 4. The burgers here are fine, but you don't really come to Fritz's if you're looking for a great burger in my opinion. Fritz's is more about the children and bringing a smile to their faces as their food is delivered by locomotive. The experience of ordering your food via telephone at your table and then seeing a train glide along tracks above you to bring your food is always a delight for the kiddos. As a rule, always order a double or triple patty burger because the smashed patties are only 1/8 of a pound, so it might not be enough if you only order a single patty. This Place was a great experience. While visiting Kansas City I wanted a good place to take the kids. The service is very very fast. You order all your food and drinks through the phone at the table, and before you can even blink the drinks are being dropped off. Your meal however gets dropped off by train service, they have trains that drop off your table's food tray as they pass by for self distribution. We all had burgers, but I had the Jalapeño Swiss Burger which was to die for. Everyone at our table enjoyed their food, and raved about how good the burgers were. Their fries were also delicious and a generous size. The whole concept was very cool and my kids loved it. In the words of my 9 year old " The Burgers are a 10/10" So try them out! read more

This place is so fun to take my grandson to lunch. Not only does he love the trains and the way food is delivered but he enjoys helping us order through the phone at the table. Not to mention this visit, we took advantage of their 1/2 price drink happy hour and had oreo shakes. Onion rings were great snd burgers were good. I tried out this restaurant with my grandkids today. The restaurant is very clean and the workers are pleasant and available if needed. Orders are placed by picking up a phone attached to the wall. Then the food is delivered by train by the ceiling and then comes down and delivered to the table. Of course the kids love that! They bring the drinks separately from a server. Two of my older grandkids got various burgers and one got tater tots and the other got fries and they both ordered a soda. The smaller grandchild had their kids meal of chicken, McNuggets, fries, and milk. Because I have celiac, I ordered their grilled chicken salad with ranch dressing and I had a Water. The two grandchildren that had the burgers said that they were good. My oldest granddaughter said her fries were plain, and the other granddaughter said her tater tots were overly greasy. The smallest granddaughter liked her entire meal. my grilled chicken salad was the worst salad I've ever had unfortunately. It was fresh and in a plastic container, but the chicken was very dried out, and it was mostly iceberg lettuce with a couple of cherry tomatoes, and a tiny bit of red onion, and a slight bit of shredded carrots on the top. They give you a name brand Dressing in a small container that you peel the top off. we all ordered desserts and we all had a sundae. Everyone thought their Sunday was good except mine was butterscotch and the butterscotch had a very fake and chemical taste compared to the typical butterscotch Sundays that I get at other restaurants. Perfect restaurant to take little ones to. Once they hit 10-11, forget it. The food is classic diner - good and somewhat greasy - but the decor is pure kitsch. Kids will love watching the train circle the ceiling, and the automated rail food/dumb waiter system is a blast. I'm not quite sure why they have you order by phone from the table, when a staff member comes to bring your drinks. What a super cute place!!! Trains deliver food to your table? OK! The place obviously is train themed with burgers, chicken and hot dog options. The burger or item is seperate then you add your fries or onion rings to them. Not overly priced but smaller options. Service took a while to get your drinks once you call in over the phone for your order (also a super cute idea) but when it takes 10-15 min to get your drink...it's not so cute anymore. Food arrived about 10 min after the drinks - somewhat hot - onion rings were insanely greasy and French fries were cold almost sweaty. It's very cool inside. This train themed restaurant is awesome for little kids. Upon entering, the kids are presented with a conductors hats and we were taken to our table. You pick up the phone at the table when you're ready to order and then a train actually delivers your food to you from above and the food is lowered down to your table. It's such a cool concept. So not a knockout, but fulfilled the greasy craving I was having. I believe we also order limeades and they were yummy. The place is very clearly meant for children which is fine! Eating a meal at Fritz's is a little like a visit to Six Flags / World of Fun. The kids will probably love it, but the adults will be forced to endure subpar food while looking at their watches and hoping it is almost time to leave. If you're looking at this page, it is likely that you all already familiar with Fritz's shtick - the telephones at every table that are used to place your order, and the trains that encircle the inside of the restaurant. Some of the trains are just for show, but others pull a basket of food that is lowered onto your table. At our booth, the basket was disengaged from the train so abruptly that it spun sideways and we thought it might fall onto our laps. Fortunately, it balanced itself just before taking a dive and the food was delivered to us without incident. However, once you take a bite, that's where the fun ends. My pork tenderlion was probably already breaded and pulled from a box in the freezer, and the bun was smashed on arrival. My fries were very "cardboardey" tasting. The burgers my friends ate didn't look very impressive, similar to a McDs with grilled onions, but I'm pretty sure McDs is better. The restaurant was completely overrun with screaming children who were there for the train experience. I don't blame them, I would bring my kids here to see the trains too if they were younger. Fritz's primary customers are families with young kids who will probably be eating at Chuck E. Cheese's next weekend. Beware, if you're one of those people who gets annoyed with a screaming kid sitting in the same row of the airplane with you - you will hate Fritz's. Don't say I didn't warn you. To accurately appraise Fritz's, I would give them 2 stars for the food - it's certainly edible, but I suspect nobody ever said "let's go back to Fritz's so we can get another delicious burger." The "phone at the table" and the train experience are probably worth 3 stars. The train is fun for one trip, but it left me underwhelmed and certainly wasn't exciting enough to motivate me to return, and I wouldn't expect the kids to clamor for a return visit either. read more

We love Fritz's. If your looking for 5 star dining this is NOT the place for you, but come on.. a toy train is delivering your food. Date night? Again NOT for you...but taking your kids out for a lunch they'll get excited about? This is what you're looking for. The drinks come with the "good ice" (crushed) and the food comes out quickly. Yep, it's greasy diner style food, but who doesn't enjoy a little cheat meal now and then? Fries, onion rings, burgers, nuggets, hotdogs cut to fit on a round bun, and cherry limeades... yes please. The service has always been good. Yes, it's not a brand new eatery or perfectly clean, but I will say for an old restaurant they keep it pretty decent. You order on an old fashioned style phone handset and wait... usually a couple of minutes later a waiter or waitress comes around and delivers drinks, straws, clean plates and anything else you might need before the big train drop. We like to do rock, paper, scissors, to see who gets to retrieve the food. A few minutes later you'll hear your train chugging along and a short bar drops down to slide your food box off onto the delivery tray. Toot toot! After you eat, be sure to get a free drink refill and grab your ticket to pay at the front. Don't forget to leave a tip, I'm sure these people could use a little extra cash for some Ibuprofen. It is loud in there, but who doesn't like the sound of little ones laughing and having a great time? Oh and don't leave your paper hat behind! Super fun experience, great place to support a local business, and honestly it's pretty cheap, like the same or less than McD's. NEVER AGAIN! What in the world did I order?!. I got this for takeout and when I opened it, It looked like a sloppy joe. It would've been fine if the description had told me I was going to receive a sloppy joe, but I wanted a chili cheese dog. I recall being to Fritz a long time ago and I got a hot dog and it actually looked like a HOT DOG. Other than the appearance, it was salty. I understand everyone has their unique way of doing things but the main disappointment was that my hot dog came out looking like a sloppy joe. When I called the resturant the waitress girl kept saying "its a hot dog", and I kept looking at it to see if they had chopped up the hot dog as a struggle meal. I will not be back.
