Cinnamon rolls are amazing but not impressed with anything else. Cookies are dry. Ordered baby shower cake half chocolate half vanilla. Chocolate half was very mushy, vanilla side was very dry and bland. Supposed to be buttercream icing but tasted like crisco. I also got a large cheesecake tray. I thought cheesecake was made with cream cheese? They use disgusting, dry, inedible bakers cheese. Desserts were a huge disappointment. read more

I stopped in last month, the condition that their display cases were in was disgusting. Numerous flies in the cases landing on pastries. Needless to say there was no purchase made on my part due to this. The associates were very friendly, and attentive though. Everything was perfect on my most recent visit! The cinnamon roll with icing and the cinnamon bun with raisins were the best of each that I've ever tasted! If you're coming here for sticky buns or cinnamon rolls this is a five star place. They're cakes are decent too. However, it looks to me it is not the same cake decorator as they had a few years back. They have wonderful choc chip pound cake. But if you're looking for the same beautifully decorated cakes you used to get from here years ago just by showing them a picture, you may be disappointed. People have said they have great butter cake, but it's not the classic German butter cake I grew up with. Theirs is a bit more doughy and thick, not a fan. On to the cookies. I'm not quite sure they taste like bakery cookies. Depending on which kind you get, some of these taste like straight out of a factory. Biscotti is decent. Almond lace cookies are very good also. Other than that, I'd make my own cookies or go elsewhere. I'm giving them 4 stars because they are clearly a sticky bun bakery and they do it very well. Those that are not too particular about their other baked goods will most likely be happy with anything they get from there. read more

Dear Cinnabon Enterprise, This is a breakup letter from your longtime lover, someone who has paid for your joy at $4 per roll every time I pass your delicious presence at the mall. Sadly, after a few days of space from any love from you...no texts, no calls....I decided to head over to Fritz's. At the moment I laid eyes on the heavenly thick cream, with it's cinnamony curves, I was in love. The ladies behind the counter were just a vehicle to getting our love to the next level, by allowing my new cinnamon roll to come home with me. And although I thought it was all happening too soon, I am obsessed with this big and beautiful treat. I know there are others in there that were whispering their sweet hot breath for me to come back for more. I'm sorry it has to be this way, but we are better off as platonic friends. Let me start off by saying I've been going to fritzs it seems like for over 50 years. I grew up in Croydon where the first store originated been eating. They're sticky buns for that long. Live now in Bensalem right around the corner from their current location. Stopped in there Saturday morning at 6 AM right when it open first customer intended on taking the buns down to the shore for my neighbor Who never has a chance to get them. The tray in the counter,was only half filled seemed a little odd being I was the first customer I asked the young man behind the counter if they were fresh as he was cutting them they appeared hard so I questioned again are you sure they're fresh as the lady was sliding the first fresh tray in cutting a section out for the second customer behind me it was clear that they were very fresh. They were cutting like butter. The young man responded, sir. they're baked fresh every morning and whatever's left over each evening or donate it somewhere so I accepted it when I got down the shore, three hours later open them up it was very clear to all of us that they were day olds. Had to put them in the microwave to soften them up. It was very disappointing and embarrassing. for me not sure what the policy is there but for the young man to flat out lie, knowing he was cutting day-old buns when a customer asked twice about it Before putting them in a box is very hard to understand I will still be going back to fritzs on Saturday morning as I always do, but you can bet I will be having a serious discussion with that young man or whoever else is in that store read more

I heard about the bakery at work. I had their Stickybuns. The best I have ever had. I had one with raisons on and one with nuts/raisons. PLEASE, you must try them. I will go back weekly to get a few. Famous for their sticky buns for a reason. My parents and grandparents lived in Philadelphia and sticky buns were always part of any family function. Fritz is known for their sticky buns and still makes them the way I remember from my childhood. So good and always so fresh. Get em plain, with raisins or with walnuts. This review is long over due as I meant to provide one during the summer after ordering the cake. I've ordered two cakes from this bakery and both times equated to the same results. That is unsanitary (it IS flu season) and a bit unprofessional. Otherwise, I have nothing but good things to say. Best sticky buns with cream cheese frosting I've ever had! Forever thankful to my friends for introducing me to Fritz's. The sticky buns are even better when you microwave them for a few seconds and the frosting soaks through the bread. I am always looking for a great sticky bun place to satisfy my better half when I am not baking my own. This place definitely comes close. There are many varieties, they are nice and gooey, and they are large and fresh. I also tried their iced cinnamon bun. This was good but a bit dry for my taste when compared to the sticky bun or the chain store competition in this category. They have many other baked goods, plus a coffee station so you can buy a cup to go with your treats. Service was pleasant but a bit slow. read more

Classic German American bakery in Bensalem, Bucks County. This two store chain produces some of the best sweet dough around. Their Cinnamon Rolls are big, light and covered in excellent icing. Eat 'em while they're hot for maximum load mind blowing experience. They react well out of the microwave, too. Butter Cake is more dense, moist and uber sweet for those of us who love a mouth full of Domino delight. Heat it up and it becomes sweet butter soup. The large cookie, brownie, cannoli trays looked great, but will await another day. This shop is well lit, allowing we gawkers to have close up looks at all the amazing goodies. The staff is friendly and seems to enjoy all the customers drooling over their wares. The coffee isn't bad, either. read more

My boyfriend took me to Fritz's Bakery after raving about their sticky buns & cinnamon rolls. We are not too close to Neshaminey, but wow it was worth the drive, I will gladly take that trip!!! Oh my goodness were they fantastic!! Huge sticky buns piled high with a luscious whipped cream cheese icing on top, so light & fluffy, but rich at the same time- out of this world! They also have huge cinnamon buns (with raisins or with walnuts I believe. My boyfriend gets a few of each kind (sticky buns with whipped cream cheese icing, cinnamon rolls with raisins, or with walnuts & maybe plain without nuts or raisins? not sure of that option). The sticky buns & cinnamon rolls are their popular items & I could taste why!! Also picked up a scrumptious (& ginormous!) chocolate eclair, felt like it was the length of my forearm! Lol, so decadent. Also to die for, there were these containers of melt-in-your-mouth Almond Florentines (kind of a honey & sliced almond 'bark' or wafers, thin & delicate) & the flavor is divine perfection, they were absolute heaven! We go there for a treat any chance we get now. Store is so cute with very nice displays of beautifully packaged cookies, breads, etc. Prices were reasonable, quality of food is so fresh & top notch. Service is friendly, fast, they answered all our questions & made suggestions. We were only in there about 10-15 mins tops but that was from us staring into the bakery cases like kids in a...bakery, hah. So phenomenal, you will not be disappointed, unless you don't like delicious baked goodness like we do. It's a fabulous treat! As for Covid, its a fairly small space, everyone wore masks, staff wears masks & gloves too, everyone respected the 6 feet distancing. There were a fair amount of customers, but the staff really knows how to move the line with finesse. The second time we went, we were almost the only customers, a couple of people came in while we were checking out. We went on Sundays both times, mid afternoon-ish. No issues at all. read more
