We spoke on the phone with Liliya, who introduced herself as the new owner, and she was incredibly polite, friendly, and helpful throughout the process. The cake was not only beautiful but also delicious. All of our guests were impressed, and there wasn't a single piece left by the end of the party! We highly recommend this bakery. For a cake place it was shocking how bad the cake and icing tasted! The decoration was lovely, but the cake itself was awful. It wasn't just my impression. Lots of guests at the shower rushed up to get a piece of cake but hardly anyone finished it. No one wanted to take the leftover cake home. We speculated that they must have just put a fresh decoration on an old stale leftover cake. I would never use this business again. read more

After many years of supporting this business and ordering cakes here, this weekend we had a really upsetting experience. I went back-and-forth with the new owner about a design for my son's cake for a special event this past weekend. The cake was delicious, the design was fine. However, I ordered a cake that would feed 85 to 100 people and that was the agreement. I paid almost $500 for a cake and $60 for delivery. In the end, the owner acknowledged that she made a cake for 60 people even though that was never the agreement. WHOOPS!!! The cake looked dwarfed; I was so shocked and upset when I saw it that I didn't even take a picture. The fact that we were charged this amount for a tiny cake that fed 60 people at a major family event is infuriating, and not what we had discussed. New owner was completely inflexible, apathetic, and did not acknowledge that she made the wrong size cake. She showed no concern about whether we were satisfied. I will no longer be ordering anything here, and am sad and shocked at the change in ownership and the sense that we feel we were completely gauged. Buyer beware. read more

This past weekend I celebrated my 42nd birthday with family. My dad ordered a Vegan Carrot Cake with "Buttercream" frosting. The cake was delicious. It was moist and it was the best dessert at the party. I really enjoyed the cake and the frosting. The frosting was "buttery " and rich. There were leftovers and I brought them home (I was after all, the birthday boy). I devoured the cake later that evening. The bakers personalized the cake with a message, "Happy Birthday Paul." I was impressed with the quality of the cake and the Vegan frosting. I will definitely shop at The Caketeria in the future when shopping for any dessert and they are my go to Bakery for "specialty" desserts (ie, vegan). I wish I took a picture of the cake. This bakery is delicious! My fiancé and I came in for a cake tasting for our wedding, and it was so cute inside. They had a table for us, and the cakes they had were so delicious! We ended up choosing both chocolate chip pound cake with ganache and the chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream and ganache, and it was so yummy! I can't wait for our wedding cake. The owner is lovely and makes such gorgeous cakes. We also left with cupcakes and a cereal treat, and those just made me even more excited because they were so good. We had a birthday in the family, and the birthday girl wanted a variety of cupcakes instead of a cake. We recently at a friend's home had two different cakes from The Caketeria, a chocolate and a lemon raspberry which were quite good so we decided to take the trip to Newtown to get some cupcakes. The Caketeria has its own small parking lot so that was nice in itself to not have to try and find street parking. The store is small and jam packed with all kinds of cakes and cupcakes and other delicious delicacies. You may have to wait outside because of COVID-19 rules. The staffer was following protocol with masks and keeping things clean. There were more than a dozen types of cupcakes and I have a bunch of pictures. We purchased a dozen and also got some macaroons. The staffer was surprised that we were quite decisive in our choices as she said others sometimes take upwards of twenty minutes to make decisions in what they want. Overall, the cupcakes were delicious and light and flavorful. They get the thanks from us so we didn't have to create all those flavors. None in particular stood out as exceptional; they were all just really good. It was the same with the cakes we recently had. The chocolate was good but not great, and the lemon raspberry was outstanding. I think we could find something comparable in Philadelphia, but if we have to go to Newtown, we'd visit The Caketeria again. The birthday girl was very happy. read more
