Cool little chocolate shop and another interesting addition to the shopping center. The influx of new shops in the last few months, along with the extensive renovation, has been really amazing. Totally revived the shopping center. Anyway, Naked Chocolate has a nice assortment of beautiful chocolates, plus the owners hand selected favorites from around the world. Pricing is on the steep side, but the quality is definitely there. The staff was very pleasant. They walked us through all of the goods they had for sale and told us a bit about their arrival in Newtown a few weeks ago. They were also very generous with their free samples! My kid was absolutely loving it. Multiple kinds of chocolate and European style hot chocolate on the house. They couldn't have been nicer. Whomever did the hiring did a great job. I'd definitely check in again if I needed some chocolates for a gift or if my kids bugged me enough! Four stars.

I went to Naked Chocolate for the first time today and am glad I did. The people working were very kind and helpful and the store was a delight to the senses. It was beautiful inside, well lit, and there was a huge selection of high quality chocolate. I thought it was very cool how you could watch the people making the chocolate through the window, too. I purchased: 2 truffles (1 almond hazelnut, 1 strawberry basil) 1 milk chocolate bar with marcona almonds 1 cacao drink I haven't had the bar or the drink yet but the truffles were heavenly. The strawberry basil one was so refreshing and unlike anything else I ever had, and I actually liked it more than the almond hazelnut (the one I'd normally love). After paying I was offered a sample of the chocolate drink, but I think that would have been a little too rich for me so I declined. Overall - staff was wonderful, chocolate is delicious, and yes, it's pricy, but that's what you get when you get high quality. I'll be back.

If excellently crafted chocolate wasn't sexy enough, calling it, "Naked," is completely over the top. Housed in a small shop in the Village @ Newtown Shopping Center, this outfit is a one trick pony of creamy, succulent candies that have your taste buds working overtime to cope with the sensory load. It all looks fantastic, and the samples at the counter make certain you try enough to bring you back for more. The one downside is the expense of self indulgence. The bonbons are $2.50 apiece, so a medium size box assortment hits $30 before you can take a breath. You really have to love someone (or yourself) to make that commitment. Well, I did and I do, so I won't be too disappointed in myself. Yes, my friends were duly impressed. The little balls of intense flavor wrapped in excessive opulent cacao were all that. With a good red wine chaser it was a near orgasmic experience. I watched as they bit their first bonbon and began to chew. Their eyes rolled to the back of their heads and a involuntary gasp escaped their lips. No doubt the best way to enjoy these delights from Naked Chocolate is to be naked yourself with someone you love. Soon.

Was greeted by a very friendly woman who told me about their chocolate and the business it was a great experience. She gave us some samples and delicious, perfect hot sipping chocolate was exactly what I have been wanting in Newtown and now you have cured my cravings! Though now I'll need help resisting temptation since you opened in my town! I hope your business is successful, good luck!

Limited Edition Bon Bons $3 each, $14.50 for a 5 piece gift box.

An amazing, locally owned chocolate shop who's hard working staff creates chocolate art on their "Bon Bons" and edible chocolate boxes that is not only stunningly beautiful, but delicious too. This is absolutely some of the tastiest chocolate out there and they are using direct and fair trade chocolate which is worth the higher price tag when you know there are no unfair labor practices or child labor involved. They not only have bite sized treats but at least a couple dozen different chocolate bars all made in house ranging from 30% white to 100% dark chocolate; A wall of chocolate bars from all around the world ranging from Lithuania to Philadelphia, PA made by different chocolatiers and even some confections sourced from France and Europe. Chocolate barks and dipped fruits are also a must try! Check them out for amazing and one of a kind holiday gifts but don't wait to shop or you may have a more limited selection. They have an easy to shop online store as well. I love Naked Chocolate!

Most of the stands are operated by the Amish, who travel back and forth to Lancaster, bringing you the freshest products from their farms and kitchens. This is the sweet spot inside this market place, with oh so many homemade chocolates, fudge, hard to find old fashioned candies, rows and rows of bagged sweet treats, they also sell Asher's chocolates and right now the store is well stocked with a great selection of Easter candies. This alone is enough excuse to get many in trouble, but add in rows and rows of homemade jams, apple or pear butters, fresh nuts galore, dried fruits and so many snack options. On top of all of this they have so many different pastas, some fresh and right out of an Amish kitchen in Lancaster. How can one not go crazy shopping with all of this temptation? Oh wait, I'm not finished! You name it, they have it when it comes to spices, herbs, cereals, baking goods, they have a large organic selection and yes, some even gluten free! They make their own nut butters, right in the store, with peanuts, cashews or almonds and they have a great variety of honey straight from Lancaster. I'm obviously a fan of this store, the homemade chocolates are divine, I love many of their products, so I do stock up when shopping here. Many free samples are scattered here and there, including those wonderful nut butters.

It is definitely for non-insulin dependents, because just looking at the stuffed aisles and shelves of cavity makers is enough to make my skin break out. If you like everything excessively sweet, this is your heaven. If you prefer a more subtle approach to your candy cravings, you may feel overwhelmed and want to keep looking after tasting a few samples. Selection is great. Prices not too bad. But, overall, this is not my favorite place for my weakness - chocolate.

Happy 2025, Yelpers! I was surprised that I hadn't reviewed The Tubby Olive so here it is…read more.. When The Tubby Olive had left their space some time ago at the Reading Terminal Market (see my review!) I was quite disappointed as it was a very regular stop for me to get my fair share of olive oil and flavored balsamic dressings. But, their main shop in Newtown, PA is not too long of a drive to continue to make the trip to get my oils and balsamic. Also, Newtown has some other great shops and restaurants so it makes for a nice day trip. Tubby Olive has dozens of oils and balsamic in all kinds of awesome flavors stored in metal tubs that allow you to sample every single one if you so desired. They have two main sizes of bottles, but then they also have tiny bottles for some nice gift sets already put together. You can sign up for the frequent customer discount where after nine bottles your tenth is free. The store is quaint with old wooden floors and I've never had any bad customer service. I tend to rotate between the Traditional 18-Year Balsamic and the Fig Balsamic, and for oils they separate them between mild, medium, and robust. I tend to like the different mild oils and choose one on the spot after trying them. I'm more than happy to give Tubby Olive my business. You should, too. Very quality products. Prices have risen in recent times, but I still come back. Large bottles are about $40 and regular $20.

I also like how you can taste them before you buy. No matter what you like you will be able to find a vinegar that matches your pallette and dish that you are cooking. As far as Olive Oil, we prefer the robust blends but they have medium and mild as well. They are always mixing it up so they have a big variety. They also have infused olive oil. I like the blood orange to mix with the fruit infused balsamics for a salad dressing. You can shop in the store store if you like samples. They also ship and have the same selection on line. So if you cannot make it into the store, you can still order their great products. The bottom line is it is worth the drive to browse the store and sample the selections. This is the place to get all of your olive oil or balsamic vinegar.

Perhaps that is why it seems always crowded with shoppers and people dining in the small eating area right across the narrow aisle from this shop. There is plenty to look at in their refrigerated display cases and a reasonably large menu on a digital monitor on the wall behind. Prices appear to have inflated over recent months; a product of supply chain and tariff instability. Still, if it's quality that you seek, Madara's is where you find it. I ordered the Fried Flounder Platter with Fries and Cole Slaw. It came in at $11+, and was the closest thing to the fish and chips I wanted. But for the use of panko breading rather than English batter, it was excellent. The fillet was huge - about two hands full, and covered in crisp fries that held their crunchy tone to the very end. The Slaw was in a too small plastic cup, and was exhausted long before the flounder. Their homemade tartar sauce was ample for my needs for the broad fish and dipping my fries. I was pleased that neither of the deep fried components left an aftertaste. Clean oil is most appreciated. This was one of the best fast made to order meals I have enjoyed in 2026!
