The Dairy Delite on Woodbourne Rd leaves a lot to be desired. The customer service is atrocious and that's being kind. I was happy to see they had orange sherbet. I wanted to get a small cup of orange sherbet and vanilla ice cream for my wife , who is very sick. I come up to the window to order and the girl at the window comes up. I order and somehow I must have said something funny. She's laughing away. I explain to her it's for my very sick wife who loves that combination from the shore where we honeymooned. Even after I explained that, she continues to laugh. I think it's absolutely horrible to laugh first off but to laugh at someone with a very serious illness is inexcusable. So I ask for the owners name and not only this girl but the supervisor in charge refused to give his name. So I go to the car and go to another place to get my wife's eidh, the supervisor sarcastically says oh I have his name. Is this how the owner wants his workers to behave. I did some searching and I believe the owners name is David Wheeler. To make fun of me is one thing but to make fun of a person who is seriously ill? Are you kidding me?? I cannot recommend this business as the workers are extremely rude. Luckily there is another business that has the combo my wife likes. Back in the 90's this was the one ice cream stand in the Levittown area to go to. Back then then they were far and away the cheapest stand around, and at the time their draconian cash only rule wasn't so much of an issue. Not a whole lot has changed about this place since then, except that their prices have gone up a bit with inflation, and you still can't pay with a card. Their confections are good, not great, but good. Their ice cream runs standard, with their hard dip being somewhat forgettable (there aren't a ton of flavors to choose from). Typically I get water ice here, though I must say the water ice is closer to a harder Italian ice than the consistency typically found in the Philadelphia area. Recently I came back only to be disappointed that their list of water ice flavors has dwindled considerably as well. The biggest issue is that this place is always, and I mean ALWAYS, crowded. Any time of day in the summer time there is a huge line you have to wait in, and on weekend nights? Forget about it. Since this was the ice cream stand I frequented the most as a child, I still get nostalgic and manage to make my way back here. However, all in all this place is average, and less crowds can be found elsewhere. read more

I love dairy delite but at this point I am kind of done with. I ordered a a coffee malted milkshake. As I first sipped it I could taste PEANUT!! My son is anaphylactic to peanuts and treenuts and we do not eat anything with it. I once again ORDERED A COFFEE MALTED MILKSHAKE NOOOO peanuts involved. As i drank my milkshake I sucked up at least 4 nuts!! Cross contamination is a real thing and a real problem!! Teach your staff better about it AND be more careful. 2019 - SOMETHING IS OFF!!!! Been going here for over 30 years, it's always been 5 stars. BUT, our visit last week is concerning. The rainbow jimmies tasted off... like they are using a cheaper quality kind now. Also, they no longer call the hard ice cream "hand dipped", it's literally just "hard ice cream". The mint chocolate chip "hard ice cream" was VERY green and tasted very artificial. I'll update this review immediately upon realizing this to be a fluke. By the way, they also changed the appearance of the items they have to a more organized menu. It is one of those time warp places where if you step up to the window and order one of their great soft sweet thick ice cream flavors in a cone or cup, or a extra thick shake, you can actually feel the strands of time pulling you into a vortex that lands you somewhere around 1957. Look in the mirror and you would swear the lines on your face are lighter, and the sparkle in your eyes brighter. Return often enough and you realize that the real secret here is not just the old original recipe, but that it sits atop the Fountain of Youth, and mixes its ageless serum into every drop that flows from its ancient spouts. Those beauties taking your order may look 18, but check their birth certificates, and you see they are really 78. Powerful elixir that Vanilla Swirl! While I wish they didn't use Styrofoam cups, there is no debate that the soft serve here is about as good as it gets. The prices are ridiculous. It's cash only here, something that I just can't understand in the 21st century, but Dairy Delite is really a store out of a different century, which in my opinion is a good thing. My favorite thing here is the milk shakes, especially the peanut butter milkshake. They have real ice cream too and soft serve. The price here is pretty cheap compared to what you'd pay at a more chain yogurt or gelato place. Sometimes at night this place is packed, as in its not a line you wait in, but a mob. Dairy Delite is easily my favorite place for ice cream in lower Bucks. It is an old fashioned drive up ice cream place that a lot of us grew up going to. Their ice cream is always very good they every soft serve and hard ice cream. They make very good milkshakes they offer flurries with mixed candy much like a Dairy Queen blizzard. I would also highly recommend if you are a peanut butter person, get the peanut butter sauce it's very tasty and sometimes it makes me change my order just to get the sauce.
