This Dairy Delite on Rt. 13 in Levittown is the twin of the ice cream stand on Woodbourne Road by the same name. It is housed in a mid-twentieth century style all glass summer enhancing structure that is iconic for those of us who remember going to such places as children. As was the custom then, it is staffed by lovely high schoolers who bring their innocence and enthusiasm to the job of ice cream dispensers. When I got on the short line I saw the handmade sign for "Soft Peanut Butter," and allowed myself to be swayed by that suggestion. No complaints, as the large cup of the dense, sweet, creamy, almost custard-like, soft serve was delicious to the last melted drop. Under $4. for all that pleasure. Maybe it still is 1970 at Dairy Delite!

Eh. Was really looking forward to a hot dog joint other than Five Guys in the area. Most of the…read moredogs were good. Could have used more of a good hard fry in my opinion. The onions weren't really sautéed as much as I like either. The beans and mac were unfortunately some of the most flavorless sides I've had in a long time. The beans almost had a sour taste. If you are used to Bush's Baked Beans these aren't it for you. Tenders were ok and thank goodness the tots were right. Other than that I'll probably continue my search for a good local hot dog joint.

They picked a perfect spot in Bristol Borough that they seemed to have partnered with Naked Brewing on. If you have kids the downstairs area is ok, but with live music I had to take my son upstairs to preserve our hearing! We found parking in the large municipal lot behind the building. Upstairs we found cozier seating at a high top table with service. Downstairs I believe you have to walk up to the bar or just sit at the bar for service. I also don't believe the full beer menu is available downstairs. The menu is full of tempting toppings and styles with your choice of regular/footlong dogs, hot sausage or kielbasa. I had a hot sausage with pepper hash and coleslaw. It had a snappy skin, decent heat and was delicious when paired with the sweet coleslaw and pepper hash. My friend ordered frank and tots and reported it to be delicious and filling. My son had a regular dog and we all shared a big pretzel with beer cheese. I had an IPA named Thank Frank that was about average for a West Coast style IPA and my pal had a couple of their darker offerings that he wasn't impressed with. Our server was nice and gave a great recommendation to add the pepper hash. She wasn't the fastest at coming to check on our beers so we bailed. I had one and she never asked if I wanted another and never refilled our waters. Prices weren't too bad. I would definitely return for some more of the interesting creations on the dawg menu, but the brews are really nothing special. Good solid time here and kid friendly, not so great service or beer.

So, while there is no actual nearby pier, this area is very wet and full of earthen dams and dikes, and is a great place for fishing and hunting. This rustic restaurant has been around for decades in the hands of the same family. When we arrived at 6 p.m. the dining room was full but for the recently cleared table which we quickly took. Lori was our server. She was great from start to finish. We started with their small styro bowl of Crab Bisque. It was thick and tasty, and perhaps a tad salty. Liked it. I followed that with English style Fish & Chips, and my friend went with Fried Stuffed Flounder and Breaded Eggplant. I think mine was made with cod. With a splash of Heinz malt vinegar the taste and texture were decent, but not what I devoured visiting England. The coined potato medallions were very good dipped in tartar sauce. The stuffed flounder seemed prefabricated and frozen rather than fresh and made in their kitchen. It was not what we were hoping for. The atmosphere of Under the Pier was actually the better part of the experience. Maybe their oysters and other locally sourced crustaceans are the better way to go to avoid freezer boredom. Wanted Mexican food (actually margaritas lol) after bowling with friends and Mill Street was under…read more2 miles away from where we were so it was an obvious decision to try them out. The restaurant is in this cute little area with shops, restaurants and bars and is a popular destination because when we were leaving out after finishing our meal the place was jam packed and there was at least an hour wait (but no wait when we came in thankfully). It's important to note that this is NOT authentic Mexican food ... but it was pretty good nonetheless. The margarita flight was cute and gave us the ability to try a few flavors out before committing to a large one. The favorites were the white peach and pineapple margaritas (the other 2 in the flight were the traditional and prickly pear). We ordered the Crab Mexican Street Corn for an appetizer and while it was loaded with crab, it wasn't Mexican Street Corn ... it was seasoned corn with old bay and a few other ingredients topped with crab. I ordered the Steak & Shrimp Combo Fajitas which was a nice portion size (I took 3/4 home) and the flavors were pretty darn tasty, but when you order fajitas you expect the "sizzle" and these didn't have that nor were they have the right temperature ... they were just warm when I wanted and expected them to be hot. The refried beans were yummy despite them not looking too appetizing but the rice was too soft. Service was good overall and pricing was also reasonable. If we're in the neighborhood again and in the mood for margaritas we may just stop back in.

I recently visited Mill Street Cantina twice and came away disappointed. It was highly recommended…read moreby a couple of friends. The inside was clean and the bar area I sat at although small was a decent spot to have a drink and grub. The staff was mostly young kids who were very nice. The chips and salsa they offer were boring. The salsas both roja and verde lacked flavor, mostly spice. The chips were fresh, but thick and bland. I think a thinner homemade style would work better. The first bartender I dealt with was great with the menu. She recommended several menu items. I ended up rolling with the Shrimp and Crab Enchiladas at $18 - jumbo lump crab, old bay cream cheese, tiger shrimp, cilantro and lime rice. The lime rice was worthless. It had zero flavor and was dry. The Enchiladas were creamy, but lacked spice and complexity. The tiger shrimp had a delicious grilled, moist flavor and were the best part. My second trip had a newer bartender who was getting her feet wet. She was friendly, but busy familiarizing herself with the bar so I went simple and ordered Birria Tacos - $15 Braised beef, onions, cilantro, lime Oaxaca cheese, consommé. The beef was dry and not tender. The shells were ok. The best part was the lime Oaxaca cheese and the consommé somewhat helped me get the beef down. The portion was very small. Not a good value in my humble opinion. The other patrons were mostly young and enjoying margaritas. I think booze is the draw to this spot. Without it your just getting average Mexican grub. Heck of a location in the Borough, but my visits left me longing for a hot pepper!
