I'm pretty sure their vanilla soft serve has crack in it. This Dairy Delight (and its sister location on Route 13) are local treasures. Check out their Pumpkin Ice cream at the end of the season and their variety of sherberts they serve throughout the year (vanilla & lime twist is as refreshing as it gets.) Cash only - but they've managed to keep their costs down over the years. Heading here at night on the weekends can mean waiting in line for a long time or having a hard time parking - but its worth it. Just watch pulling in and out onto Woodbourne. I'm slightly obsessed with Dairy Delite. It's kind of a problem! LOL. The staff is always so nice and helpful. They give great opinions of the product and allow you to sample whatever you'd like. In the summer I usually get the Raspberry, Peach or Lemon water ices. They are so fresh and delicious! Way better than commercialized brands that are full of SUGAR! Recently, I've been getting the pumpkin and graham cracker soft serve! It's absolutely incredible. It's not too sweet. It's very light and very flavorful. I highly recommend trying it!! I tried their cherry and mango water ice for the first time. Rita's has always satisfied my cravings so I thought maybe this family-owned business could one up the chain (their long lines must account for something). Both of them, however, were wayyy too sweet and I can only imagine how sugary the other water ice flavors are. I prefer the prevailing sweetness of real fruit as opposed to excess sugar but I'll have to try some soft serve too since it's highly recommended. I'll submit a revision soon! read more

Dairy Delite is one of the best ice cream shops in town. I particularly like the hard ice cream in pumpkin (seasonal). The lines get very long, and you have to stand outside in the parking lot and risk getting hit by a car. Unfortunately, my family can't shop there because there aren't any nut free options. Moving from NJ I've been on the search for a 3 to 4 star ice cream spot not far from my house in Trevose. While driving thru the area, I stumbled across dairy delight.. They had a typical PA style menu where I think concoctions are more popular than good ice cream (let's add tons of treats and syrup to mask a mediocre ice cream flavor). I went with a tried and true butter pecan and cookies and cream HARD ice cream (I can't find myself to call it "hand dipped".. Just not my thing). Anyways. It was decent. The butter pecan was not as "buttery" as I expected.. More of a vanilla coloring.. And only chopped pecans. Not many at all .. Would have loved full sized pecans that make it hard to take a spoonful because there's so many and the Oreo was 'eh ok' too.. Sadly but by far (out of the handful of ice cream places -and when I say ice cream I don't mean those yogurt spots or a chain ice cream place) one of the better places I've been. I was confused by their sizing as well.. They had what looked like a 4oz cup .. Literally a cup, which is their "small" an 8oz cup (again a styrofoam cup) large, and then a pint. For $3 and change I got the 'large'. Not badly priced they had plenty of staff for a midday Thursday. So there was no wait at all. I'll come back (if I'm in the area) but I'm still on my quest to find the best! read more
