Tried three flavors from OWOWCOW Creamery, honey lavender, pineapple, and apricot raspberry. and each fell a bit flat for me. Across all three, the salt level was off; needed more to really balance and bring out the other flavors, since without it everything tasted a little muted. The sugar wasn't quite dialed in either, which threw off the overall balance. Flavor-wise, each needed something more to give it depth, the honey lavender and apricot raspberry especially tasted somewhat one-note despite the interesting flavor combos. Texture-wise, the fat content seemed low across the board, which left the ice cream tasting icy rather than rich and creamy. Overall, the concepts and flavor pairings are creative, but the execution needs some tweaking on salt, sugar balance, and fat content to really let them shine. Prices were reasonable, Atmosphere was good, location good, service was slow, not friendly. Will try this place one more time. read more

I have heard time and time again that OwowCow is the best ice cream in the area. While that might be close enough to accurate, I would never rate this above middle of the pack in terms of every ice cream I've tried. Once you've had truly great ice cream it's far easier to tell when something is a little too overhyped. I tried a flight of ice cream to give it a fair shot and half the flavors didn't come through. They were unique flavors so perhaps they were worried it would've been too strong. I can't say for sure. That being said, the staff is friendly and the locations are convenient and they have interesting flavors. They are good but not quite the powerhouse they're made out to be. read more

We have visited and enjoyed OwowCow in Lambertville several times.  This was our first time picking up ice cream at this location.  I was happy to see Cinnamon as one of the flavors and tried a sample.  It was too sweet, probably because of the marshmallows added to it.  But I did enjoy a cup of Sweet Honey Cream and Espresso Bean.  We also picked up quarts "to go" of various flavors, the best of which IMO were Almond Coconut Chocolate Chip and Cashew Caramel.  Service was very good.  The shop interior is rather basic, no frills, with a few tables and chairs. I've always loved this place but was disappointed during my last visit. It seems the employees are lowering the temperature to make scooping easier, which unfortunately caused the ice cream to melt too quickly. I've never encountered this problem before. Mint chocolate also seems to have considerably more chips now which makes it too chocolatey. Not sure if this was a random batch or they made a change. This had been my favorite ice cream place in the area for years. Hope it returns to form. read more

Wish I could give 100 stars. I went in 8/1 after coming across the shop online and drove 30 minutes. I have a nut allergy and the young man that waited on us offered to get a brand new tin of ice cream, a new scoop and wore gloves when serving me my ice cream. 100% above and beyond, whoever raised this man, great job! read more

Creative homemade ice cream flavors. Five star service from a very friendly and passionate staff. They offer a large assortment of flavors as well as a few monthly specials. I tried two of the monthly specials (cashew caramel and a scoop of the honey bunch). Both were unique and fantastic! The ice cream base itself, at least for these two, was a bit more ice milk than say a super thick Häägen Dazs, but it worked well with these flavors. Overall, a very enjoyable and worthwhile experience. Lots of outdoor seating and outdoor activities in the warmer weather. Note: I was following Waze and turned a road too soon. The reroute took me on a dirt road adventure thru the farm and along railroad tracks to eventually arrive in the back of the store. Be prepared! :-) read more

This is now my second visit to owowcow. First time lambertville and now wrightstown. Both are fantastic. They always have such great and unique flavors. Found out today too that each store has its own unique flavor. I'll have to go back and find out what lambertville is but here it's a espresso ice cream with brownie chunks. Yummy!! If I'm even remotely near one of my locations I will make it a point to stop in. Wish they had a location closer to my home in northern NJ but probably for the better bc I'd eat it too much. read more

I love owowcow. I've never been to this location before but have been to several others. The quality at each one is superb. Vegan options are delicious. The workers at this location were amazing. They were extremely helpful. They didn't give me a hard time when I asked for a million samples before making my selection. I think there names were Taylor and Devon. Everything is all natural and made fresh daily with locally sourced cream, eggs and honey as their base. No chemicals, thickeners or artificial flavors. Why bother? When you have premium ingredients you just don't need all that junk. The flavor assortment, which is rotated weekly, is both enticing and delicious. Aside from the usual combos that have some variation of vanilla, chocolate, caramel and the like, they come up with exotic choices that you just never see anywhere else, like lavender honey and rosewater cardamom. Really great Ice Cream, solid customer service, and amazing sundaes. Everyone was so friendly and willing to sample and describe their products. All of the sundae toppings were special and tasted unbelievable together. Like it was made just for that one purpose. The best compliment I can really give, is that when we were leaving, we actually had to have a conversation if this is in the running for the best ice cream. We came here for a check in offer during our yelp road trip. This was the part I was most excited for. My husband and I both got the road trip sundae which had espresso ice cream, hot caramel, espresso hot fudge, and espresso cookie crumbles on top. I made a slight alteration with my sundae and ordered 1 scoop of cookies and cream with 1 scoop of espresso, instead of the standard 2 scoops of espresso. They had so many delicious flavors that I wanted to mix it up. However, I should have just ordered it the way it came because I found myself wanting more of the espresso ice cream because it was so delicious. I think they gave me slightly more cookies and cream than espresso ice cream. So I stole a couple more bites of my husband's ice cream, haha. I didn't get to take a picture because it was so good and I didn't want to risk it melting. Everyone working at the counter was so nice as well. I couldn't decide and wanted to sample every flavor and they were very patient. We are ice cream aficionados as well and drive all over to try homemade ice creams at different places. My friend and I came here while in the area for a Yelp event and enjoyed our ice cream! The store was relatively empty, which made sense considering we were visiting in winter with snow still on the ground. Despite it being winter, it was slightly warm out and the sun was shining, so ice cream hit the spot! My friend and I shared the Yelp Check-In Offer: a Road Trip Sundae (Homestead Roasters espresso ice cream topped with Raymer's hot caramel, housemade espresso fudge, whipped cream and espresso cookie crumble). It was really yummy! The only thing weird about it was how quickly the ice cream melted. Despite the fact that we were seated inside, it melted within 3 minutes of us ordering it, so it was difficult to eat once it turned to soup. Perks of this creamery include the quality and variety of the flavors, the ample parking, the late summer hours, and the virtually endless amounts of outdoor seating. You can also get pre-packed pints to take home!However, the inside of this place is very small and seating inside is virtually non-existent. The line here on a Sunday night was literally out the door, and it took about 20 minutes to get our orders. Prices are about what you'd expect for boutique ice cream, with costs starting at $3.25 for a small. The waiting line was unorganized and unmanned. With two different entrances, people were streaming in from all corners and cutting lines, much to the irritation of my impatient mother. OwowCow is something different and unique. We stopped the other night after having dinner at Oishi. We arrived around 7pm and the line was long! Like 20 minutes long. We had never been here so we were expecting great things. First the service, good, not great. Yes the people are nice and pleasant but we were rushed through like cattle. I understand it's busy but this isn't your typical ice cream shop. They don't really have "normal flavors" everything is unique and out of the box. Not saying it's a bad thing. My wife went with the coconut almond, I had the blood orange raspberry and our daughter had the chocolate. The ice cream was just okay in my opinion. It was smooth and creamy but melted extremely fast! The blood orange was our favorite. It was light and refreshing. The coconut was our least favorite. The sugar cones were also very good. There lays another issue. I absolutely hate it when the don't put ice cream in the cone and just on top. There is nothing worse then biting into an empty cone. Especially when that cone is almost $7.00 A place like this you always expect to pay a little more than normal. In this case it was on the higher end. While it was decent ice cream I'm not sure we would take the ride out again. read more
