Had a great lunch of chicken piccata while my husband ordered a pizza. My chicken was a bit tough but the lemon sauce was delicious and my husband loved his pizza. Our waitress, Bella, generously gave us complimentary extra rolls and dipping sauce to take home with our leftovers. i watched her make a really yummy Italian Cosmopolitan cocktail while waiting for the food. We had a 10 dollar discount coupon but we'd go back again even without a coupon. Especially loved the Sinatra soundtrack while sipping my drink. read more

We met up with a family member who I had not seen in a long while for lunch at Frittella. The atmosphere was quiet and well suited to a nice visit. The place is classically decorated and clean. First, to me, the sign of a great restaurant is an owner or manager who comes by the table, to see how their guests are doing. The owner, Tracy, did just that, asking how everything was and visiting for a short time. That was appreciated. For our meal, we had bread sticks with parm, Lasagna, Manicotti and Angel hair pasta. It was a very nice meal with loved ones that we enjoyed very much. Everything was really good and at a fair price. What strikes me the most about Fritella is not just the food, but the family feel. While we were there, a group of ladies showed up for lunch, then proceeded to enjoy a game of bridge with their friends. This is exactly what I think of, when I think of Frittella. Family, Friends and Food in a relaxing and warm atmosphere. read more

Definitely a great place to get some hot and fresh Italian food! The service was great too, we were well taken care of. The inside of the restaurant is older, but it feels homey. Tried the Chicken Nozze and loved it. Cheese pizza was thin and cheesy. Beef Cannelloni was excellent. Salad bar, so fresh. Everything was great. read more

I had high hopes after reading the reviews about the lasagna. It was just okay. The ricotta was very watery/milky and the whole thing lacked flavor. It wasn't bad...just wasn't great either. If you look up "average lasagna" this should be posted. read more

Spacious and clean Italian restaurant! The spinach artichoke was amazing!! I would definitely come back and try their pizza options next time. The entree I got was pretty decent but too much cheese (and I love cheese), but it was little bit overwhelming. The service was great , was always checked up on read more

Fresh and delicious, every time! A regular favorite hang out of mine... Comfortable and relatively quiet, with a nice Frank Sinatra soundtrack (crooning) in the background. The salad bar, soups, and in-house bread options are faves! read more

It was good a long time ago. I thought I'd try again. Our family sat down, then after a long wait, we went up to the counter like we used to have to do and asked if that was where we ordered. They told me to go back to my table and a waiter would help us. They finally came. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. The drinks came and we ordered our entrees. The entrees came, but no appetizers. The waiter said the kitchen got confused and finally brought the appetizer. I also ordered a salad, but that was help your self at the salad bar. 4 tiny pieces of lettuce floating in a bowl. I must have looked confused. A waitress asked if I needed anything. I showed here the lettuce. I suppose she forgot about it, then when I got up to check if anything was there, I heard her ask someone to refill it. The manager was not too helpful, constantly on the computer, but not managing. the dining room was maybe 1/4 full at 7:00 pm. My entrée wasn't what I wanted so for me this was a total flop. Not worth $75 for 3 people, no desserts. I'll try Frizoli's next. I bet better service, better food. I actually came here when it was a Taco Bell. It was better then. read more

Visited Frittella during a visit to Bryan/College Station and was pleasantly surprised. I was a big fan of the Chicken Puttanesca dish, very savory with that tomato sauce packed with olives, capers, mushrooms and garlic. Maybe I was too hungry but it honestly is one of my favorite Italian dishes I've tried and belongs in the "clean plate club" for me. The pasta itself with marinara was just okay, but it worked well with the chicken dish. The soup I ordered was a miss (minestrone) it didn't feel like it was fresh and more like a canned soup feel. We came on a late Saturday lunch, and the restaurant was fairly empty. The service was friendly, the waitress even moved some tables allowing our entire group to sit together. The restaurant has a bit of dated decor and lighting. Decent parking lot and there's a drive-thru option as well. The food was pretty good overall, surprising for me and I'd even rank it above several Italian spots I've been to in Houston. read more

I really wanted to like this place. But sadly it was a disappointment. We tried many items on the menu. Calamari was bland just like other reviews, the pizza had way to much sauce which cause the toppings had to slide off,the shrimp tasted old, the lasagna was ok. We were sat right across from the pick up window which made for a loud dinner even tho the place was nearly empty. The fountain drink dispenser did not add a charming affect to our dinner as well. Service was not great to top off not a great dinner. Can't really imagine wanting to come back here. read more

Came here for the first time with my family. We ordered: Spinach Artichoke Dip w/ Breadsticks: a little bland, but delicious. More spinach than artichoke. The breadsticks has a softer texture and paired with the dip. Pasta Carbonara: tasted ok, nothing special about it. Lasagna/Cannelloni Combination: lasagna was very delicious. Probably one of the best that I've ever tasted in my life. The Cannelloni was my first and it too, was very flavorful. Margherita Pizza: I was pretty bummed that it was a thin crust instead of those puffy pizzas. The cheese, sauce, and toppings slipped right off the crust and was very messy to eat so a fork was definitely needed. It does have an awesome flavor though. Chicken Piccata: more lemony than what I'm used to, but still very delicious. Cannoli: I wasn't a fan of cannolis, but this one was pretty damn delicious. Overall, food was a bit bland, but nothing a little salt and/or Parmesan cheese can't fix. I would definitely come back to try other popular dishes. Prices are decent for the portion you get. Our waitress, Mia was very friendly and helpful. She recommended all the popular dishes. Lots of tables to dine at and lots of parking. The restaurant is older looking and could use some touch up. read more

Amazing food. I have loved everything I have tried here, pizza, pasta, and appetizers. I especially liked the fried breadsticks.

Had the Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken. Meal had great flavor and a healthy portion. Only reason it was not 5/5 stars was due to the server forgetting to refill my beverage. They did however make up for the discrepancy by providing me a to go cup. read more

Brought my son and his girlfriend here for something different. I read reviews about their pasta and that didn't disappoint. Absolutely loved the manicotti. However there was nothing else. No bread unless we ordered the appetizer. Which hands down love their take on garlic bread. No salad offered. That was strange just to get 2 pieces of manicotti. Son says the chicken parm was good (I don't eat chicken, so I take his word) his girlfriend however asked for a Caesar Salad with chicken. They brought over a small dish with unseasoned chicken and left. We asked for the salad and the waiter said she could make it herself at the salad bar. This was never explained to us. Of course there was only our table and one other at 3 in the afternoon and it's a strange time of day. Maybe they just wasn't expecting such a busy time. I will visit again, maybe if just for a later dinner to see if there is a difference in atmosphere. read more

Delicious authentic pasta dishes! Had the combination lasagna/cannelloni entree and it was spectacular. The sauce was perfect. The caprese salad was also good, but the pasta dishes were the star of the show. Cozy, rustic fun atmosphere. Felt the prices were good for the quality. The service was just fine with filling drinks and timing of starters etc. read more

Fritters Italian Cafe was a very middle of the road experience for my husband and I. The venue itself is a bit confusing. Harsh white lighting with visible drink dispenser in the front half made it feel a bit cafeteria like. We were here for a date night without the kids, so we requested to sit in the dimmer lit dining room behind. Unfortunately, neither of us enjoyed our mixed drinks. Mine tasted too strongly of liqueur and I decided to kindly request it be sent back. My chicken dish was fine. The sauce was a bit of a watery tomato flavor and I enjoyed the olives. My fettuccine was run of the mill. I think fresh ground pepper and Parmesan could have elevated it a little and it was severely missing salt. My husband's eggplant parm was quite soggy. However, we were disappointed in the garlic bread the most. It was described as fresh bread loaded with fresh garlic. As pictured, I would compare it to the Texas Brand toast you can buy in the freezer section. We did eat all of our food as we were starving when we arrived, and we don't believe in letting food go to waste, but we decided to venture elsewhere for dessert. Our server was mostly transactional. He never checked on us once we got our food until it was time for the check, but no harm no foul. Overall, we had an okay experience. read more

Best Italian food in the area. Prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is convivial. The waitstaff are real pros. Very skilled and accommodating. Absolutely amazing! We had my son's A&M graduation lunch there. They were able to accommodate my very restricted diet and make it taste wonderful. I had a chicken breast and broccoli sautéed in olive oil with onion and garlic. It was exactly what I needed and perfectly cooked. If we weren't living an 8 hour drive away we would make Fritella a regular goto place to eat. Highly recommended. Ten stars! And a special thanks to Tracy, who made it all happen seamlessly and smoothly! Yum! read more

Eating at Fritella is like eating at your grandma's house--everything is made fresh and is nothing like Italian chain restaurants. Yesterday I was take to lunch at Frittella Italian Cafe. One of the tip takers University and travel south so you can make a right turn when you arrived at the restaurant. My parents loved your restaurant. The one and only time that I have visited your restaurant was during happy hour. I was there with my wife, my 79 year old mother and 50 year old special needs brother. We asked for a regular table because he is uncomfortable at a bar height table. There are none in the bar area; we recognized this and simply requested a table in the empty dining room area. We're told that area is not open yet. We left. The server was attentive when at the table, but the majority of the staff were very loud and unprofessional. The food was okay, would not eat there again.
