This restaurant is walking distance to a hotel which makes it an easy choice to try. I stopped by when the place next door I wanted to eat at closed early. The reviews were good so I decided to give it a try. The restaurant was clean and decently busy. I was immediately greeted by the owner who recommended that I try the fried chicken. He said he makes it to order so it would take approximately 15 minutes. I ordered a 2 piece mixed chicken meal (spicy). It comes with two sides so I ordered mashed potatoes and green beans. The food took about 20 minutes to come out. The chicken was a beautiful golden brown. It had a perfect crunch on the outside and was juicy inside. The amount of spice was as expected for spicy chicken. I requested hot sauce and was given a green one and a red one. The green was very spicy and the red tasted like Louisiana Hot Sauce. I was also given a garlic sauce which I poured over the top of my green beans. The green beans were very bland. In my opinion, they would have tasted a lot better if they had been cooked with garlic, onion, and seasoning. It seemed like they were just steamed with no seasoning at all. The garlic sauce helped add some flavor. I also added salt and pepper. For me, they were still lacking. The mashed potatoes were also a no for me. Just boring and bland, even with gravy. They also have poutine, rotisserie chicken and more. Each order is made fresh and so I did have to wait a little bit but it was definitely worth the wait. My fried chicken came out piping hot. It was so crispy. It definitely was a winner. I also got a side of rice pilaf. The rice pilaf was ok but nothing special. I honestly was regretting not getting the poutine instead. A friend and I ate at Frito today for the first time and we were beyond impressed! We both had the fried chicken (mild) and it was absolutely delicious! They cook it fresh to order and it was perfectly seasoned and incredibly juicy, and the crunchy breading was to die for. Frito Chicken, let me count the ways. Sadly I have been planning on coming here and today was the day as some coworkers and I decided to grab a group lunch and watch some soccer. Now that is a turn off, but I digress.......... We decided to order two whole roasted chickens which I do appreciate that they cut up for us in to the standard chicken cuts. You get two sides with each so we did fries and fried rice. The dried rice, I mean fried rice, I've had better it was dry and bland as if it were recycled from what was not sold the day before. The fries were good, nicely seasoned and cooked well but there just was not enough for everyone to share, the portion side with a whole chicken could have been a little heftier. We also got honey barbecue wings which actually were good. No complaints there. We asked for extra sauces since we had two whole chickens and the lady who bagged the food initially gave us two white and two green sauces for two whole chickens, how is that supposed to work out? We have to play spin the sauce to see who can actually get sauce? that was not going to work we asked her for more sauce and she acted as if she did not hear us. Okay no problem, we asked the other young lady at the counter if we could have more sauces because we obviously had a lot of chicken, she was nice enough to hook us up. Such a delicious food find in Ashburn! There are very few place I know that offer fried chicken and Peruvian-style flavors, and fewer that are also halal. Tried this new chicken place today. After going to Chik fil a, popeyes, jollibee, and kfc this place still manages to set their chicken apart from the rest. The breading had a buttermilk like flavor and was super crispy. The inside was juicy as well - probably the juiciest chicken I've had in a while. I got to try to coleslaw which had a nice refreshing flavor (not loaded in cream like others). Additionally, tried the mashed potatoes which were well seasoned. The chicken sandwich was very good as well. It came with lettuce, tomato, and Mayo. It was definitely one of my fav chicken sandwiches I've had (tried so many). My favorite dish was poutine. I hadn't had it before so was unsure but the hot sauce really topped it off. Lastly, we had ice cream for dessert here and it was the perfect amount of sweetness after a nice fried meal. They also had additional sauces for the chicken as well as two in house sauces that are a must try. Non food related: The staff was very friendly nice and accommodating. The restaurant was clean and orderly. The food took a while to come out but only because it was being made fresh. I would have given 5 stars cause the taste is great but the service started a bit rocky; I think the guy at the register got annoyed because he felt I didn't understand his response to my question but actually I don't think he understood what I was asking therefore I noticed he rolled his eyes and I just decided it wasn't worth it, and just decided to pass on trying the fried wings. The chicken was delicious and hot when we first arrived. And the plantains were made perfectly! A few friends and I placed a to-go order from Frito Chicken for a little midday World Cup viewing party nearby. First off, don't be fooled, this is not Peruvian chicken. Just because it spins slowly in a big (I believe) wood-burning oven does not mean it is so. With that said, the rotisserie chicken was deliciously flavored with a slight kick. Not Peruvian, but I liked it. They did have the same mustardy mayo yellow sauce that went really well with the chicken. Secondly, the prices have gone up even since about March of this year. The whole chicken with 3 large sides for $16.99 that I saw in the Yelp pics (provided by the business owner) has now turned into a whole chicken with TWO large sides for $19.99. Not my favorite thing to see, but I guess they had to make some business decisions here - I guess I understand. We went with fries and fried rice for our large sides. Fries were pretty good- seasoned well and hot - no complaints here. The fried rice though was dry and kinda had no taste. I took one bite and decided against any others to follow. We also ordered a side of yucca plus an order of their honey bbq chicken wings. Both were pretty good - the yucca cut into big pieces, nice and crisp on the outside and soft and hot inside. The chicken wings were large and in charge and had a good flavor. Overall a good 3.5 stars that I will have to drop down to 3 because service was a bit slow. Yes, our order was big, but there was really no one else in there when we went in. So we substituted some other sides, and waited for the meal to arrive. What we saw when it did was darn near a whole tilapia, and the fullest chicken tenders you've ever seen. I read a comment that said "Peruvian flavors" since I'm Peruvian it made me curious. 1 star because the mango shake is very good but not the other items I tried. The green sauce needs seasoning, water/jalapeño/cilantro are not supposed to be the only ingredients. So decided to change it up from Popeyes and try Frito since the reviews were good but after further review it seems that all the negative reviews share most of the same issues. This is not a fast place you can stop by to pickup dinner on the way home from work. It took nearly 30 mins for me to get my chicken order. This chicken is not kid friendly. Came in with the family which consists of 3 children as young as 15 months. I ordered a family meal and at no point did they bother to mention that all the chicken is spicy. None of the kids could eat any of the chicken and I had to pickup dinner again elsewhere. The "Peruvian" sauces are not very good at all. Watery and no flavor. I took my order to go, I don't live very far, when I got home there was a ton of grease on the bottom of the container, the fried chicken that was at the bottom was soggy with grease, see picture attached.
