This was hands down our best meal in Belgium! The service was quick and the food was incredibly good. This may be one of the best burgers I've ever had. It's quite a large burger so I split it with my friend and it was the perfect amount of food. There was the most delicious truffle may on the burger that I still think about. We also had a side of parmesan fries and there's a plethora of different sauces to choose from. We choose garlic mayo, but we should've gotten more of the truffle mayo! Then topped off the meal with a cherry beer which was just perfection.

Small place with decent seating with good menu. We tried Vegan burger and chicken nuggets and we loved em both. would certainly recommend this place and would come back to try more

Amazing food. Great FAST service. Authentic ambiance. Highly recommend if you have 20 minutes and need a great bite/beer.

This place can get packed so beware! Located in the heart of Bruges where there are beautiful backdrops around every corner, FritBar is a gem for sure. The atmosphere, service, and food here are superb. I had a Burger, Fish & Chips, and a brew, which made for one of the best meals we had in Bruges! I highly recommend this charming joint.

We popped in here on our last day in Bruges because the only other place we'd been to to try fries was in Brussels and that restaurant (i don't even remember the name) gave us crappy PACKAGED MAYONNAISE PACKETS. Ugh!! Like come on, it takes less than 5 minutes to make a nice mayo and this is Belgium! So, we came to FritBar hoping to redeem Belgium's reputation. The fries themselves taste like fries. Nicely done fries, mind you... thinly cut like you'd find at some well known fast food chains that I haven't been to in *years*. But the toppings. These guys know how to do their toppings right. Had we more time, I would have experimented more and enjoyed all the tastes. Alas, that will have to wait for another visit at another time. I ended up getting the garlic Mayo as I make a pretty mean homemade garlic Mayo myself and wanted to compare. It was delicious and just the right amount of garlicky goodness. I also got a nice brown ale to wash it all down with. The ambience here is nice. Pretty quiet when we came in (it was raining) but you can tell this place gets lively. Loved the lights and funny, punny quotes! The staff was friendly as well. Over all, we were pleased with making this our last chance to eat in Bruges before heading back home. Thanks!

The beers here are amazing with over 20+ on tap there is something for everyone - and some must try Trappist beers. I absolutely loved this spot. Only reason for not having 5 stars? The service. Although the place was relatively crowded, it was not very crazy at all especially when we first came in after opening and the staff behind the bar were kind of rude. I asked for a flight and they seemed annoyed they had to make one instead of just pouring 1 beer, and i was reading the menu and didn't have all my numbers ready to fire off - more upset. Additionally, my wife and I sat down at the bar about 1 hour after the place opened and we both had glass all over our chairs and now in our bottoms. The bartender was annoyed when my wife asked him to clean it - he said some glass thing exploded there before opening... so you didn't clean it? And then were annoyed customers had glass in their pants? make that make sense.

I also tried to order nachos and the bartender pointed me to small bags of chips from a display on the bar (I think they were Doritos--not what I expected). I decided to skip the snack. The second beer, Rochefort 6, was excellent, so the visit ended in a high note.

With so many options, we were excited to explore what they had to offer. Today, we ordered the onion soup, shrimp and cheese croquettes with salad, rabbit with potato croquettes, and the beef stew with fries. Both entrees also came with apple sauce, which was an interesting and surprisingly good pairing. The ambiance is warm, cozy, and inviting, and the service was great. The portions were generous, and most of the dishes we tried were delicious. The beef stew was the highlight of the meal. The meat was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. Eating it with the apple sauce created a nice balance and kept the dish from feeling too heavy. The rabbit was also very tender, it looked similar to a chicken thigh and drumstick, although you can definitely tell the bone structure is different. The apple sauce paired nicely with the rabbit and added a great contrast to the flavor. The shrimp croquettes were tasty, but the cheese flavor was not my favorite. The onion soup was also very different from the traditional versions we're used to. It had a strong, unusual flavor that felt a little harsh and even gave a slight burning sensation in the throat, so it wasn't my favorite dish.

I had no idea how consistently full they'd be and felt grateful the entire time to have snagged a spot. When I tell you my fish stew has to be one of the top 5 things I've ever eaten in life, I am not kidding. It was so spectacular. I had no idea what to order and asked for a recommendation and this was it. This soup blew my mind, spoonful after spoonful it was the yummiest, most delish, comfort meal I've had in a long time. We had a very and tasty experience. Highly recommend.

It's the kind of place you get drunk and look around and marvel at the inevitability of life's wonderment. That if you choose a path, it somehow finds you. And with Leine being blonde and gorgeous carrying around a tiny jar of moonshine infused custard for occasional dips of her pinky, I felt myself turning into an image I'd dreamed of since the age of nine, a traveling artist with a muse and the caked wavy hair once worn by Tristan Tzara, the dark sunken eyes of Man Ray, Leine posing at Bar des Amis as if in black and white with a bottle of Duval. She pours it slowly. Sips, leans in to kiss me and I can still hear the bubbles fizzle out on her lips. The bartender is tall and modelesque, and takes to Leine. He adds us on Facebook. I order three rounds of beer here and they're sweet; this moment is so rich, it's cloying. I can't help but think of what can go wrong. Yet the barstools feel stable beneath us. The Bar des Amis furniture is nothing special. The patrons, though, are. They are glad, not yelling at the TV during soccer like in the other pubs. The bartender gives us a free shot and smiles at my flirtatious girl. Her shoulders are exposed and she's receptive. Her energy is a powerful light beaming from the chest. She reminds me of me! He leans in to tell us that Brugge is thinking of creating a network of underground piping strictly for beer because the cobblestone alleyways are too narrow for the beer trucks. Leine laughs but I've turned cynical and profess that the town looks a bit like the town in Pinocchio. Like the buildings are set pieces and that our perfect little world might crumble. How much beer did I have here? Am I that unsure of her love? I'm being unfair, of course. Leine has done nothing to deserve my darkness. Her hand has been a fixture on my thigh. It's not until later, when we meet an Englishman here, who warns us of pickpockets in Rome, that our night unfolds into powder white oblivion.

When you first enter the museum, you're greeted with a really eye-catching display of beer cans, that spell out the word "beer", and a bunch of really cool beer posters. Once you get upstairs, they'll give you a tablet and it becomes an interactive experience. There are QR codes all over the museum that you scan, and you can watch videos/hear audio about the history of beer. I would say the coolest exhibit is the globe. You can scan various countries and learn about the history of beer from those regions. It took us about a hour to see pretty much everything we wanted but if you want to go at a more leisurely pace, or if you're super into beer, you could spend 1.5 to 2 hours here. Afterwards, you can head to the tasting room (if you booked that addition) and they give you 4 tokens for a tasting. My favorite beer was the Rodenbach Fruitage, which was a nice and crisp raspberry beer. They also have snacks for purchase, but we were saving our stomachs for an actual lunch. It's definitely worth a visit when you're in Bruges. Don't forget the photo ops with the bottles of beer on the wall in the museum!
