One of the best beer bars in the world. Period. Ignore all other reviews! Amazing selection of Belgian classics and great prices to boot. When in Bruges, don't miss this place!

Cuvée des Trolls!

Spacious, quirky bar in the large cellar under a seemingly abandoned old house a few hundred metres from the market square. The entrance is easy to miss, just a flight of steps leading down into the darkness with a whiff of stale beer. Together these repel most of the more mainstream tourists which helps the atmosphere enormously. Once inside, there's lots of tables and a few comfy armchairs, olde worlde furnishings and an enormous selection of beers at pretty reasonable prices. Service was a bit slow late on a Sunday afternoon, but friendly enough and the clientele were mixed but mostly younger. Can't believe it took until about my sixth trip to Bruges to discover this place!

LOVED this place. It's a little tucked-away cellar bar that's ever-so-slightly off the beaten path, with tons of personality. You can get great beers just about everywhere in Brugges but this one had the atmosphere to clinch the deal. I'll definitely return on my next visit!

Basement beer bar. You'll miss it if you don't know where it is. Watch your head in the way in. Friendly staff and great selection.

We were excited to try this popular bar in Belgium. The ambience is dated and they definitely need…read moreto clean their tables. The bathroom was unclean too. They have limited food options. Just some nuts and packs of chips. We got the popular paprika chips and tried their two most popular beers. They really have interesting beer glasses, we saw others carrying foghorn shaped glasses, hourglass shaped glasses, etc. They have both outside and inside seating. We sat outside right by the canal. The view was great from there. Loved our beers too! There are no servers, you have to order at the counter and wait for your beers by the adjacent station.

Such a fun place to enjoy a beer!…read more I took a day trip to Bruges back in May 2024. I had bookmarked a few places to check out and 2be was one of them. On a walking tour of the city, we passed by 2be so I made a point to visit once the tour ended. The beer wall in the entry way is pretty awesome! I have no idea how many beers are on display, but each one has it's own drinking glass. I visited on a Saturday afternoon so it was very busy with patrons. The lines can get long, but they actually move pretty fast. The bartenders are nice and efficient. You can scan a QR code for the menu or you can pull down a menu from the ceiling while you're in line. They have menus in multiple languages including English, Spanish, and French. I had the Brugs Tarwebier. I don't remember what size I ordered but it was a decent amount of beer. I liked the glass that it was served in. They have really cool drinkware, but don't even think about taking it because they have antitheft sensors on them. All of the beers were less than €7. I really wanted to try a Delirium Tremens, but I was short on time and wasn't gonna pound a beer that is 8.5% ABV. Maybe next time lol.

Long before I met Lauren, Leine and I traveled Europe, landing in Brugge in a small aircraft and…read moretwo overstuffed bags, out for blood. And eventually, out for beer at Bar des Amis. It's the kind of place you get drunk and look around and marvel at the inevitability of life's wonderment. That if you choose a path, it somehow finds you. And with Leine being blonde and gorgeous carrying around a tiny jar of moonshine infused custard for occasional dips of her pinky, I felt myself turning into an image I'd dreamed of since the age of nine, a traveling artist with a muse and the caked wavy hair once worn by Tristan Tzara, the dark sunken eyes of Man Ray, Leine posing at Bar des Amis as if in black and white with a bottle of Duval. She pours it slowly. Sips, leans in to kiss me and I can still hear the bubbles fizzle out on her lips. The bartender is tall and modelesque, and takes to Leine. He adds us on Facebook. I order three rounds of beer here and they're sweet; this moment is so rich, it's cloying. I can't help but think of what can go wrong. Yet the barstools feel stable beneath us. The Bar des Amis furniture is nothing special. The patrons, though, are. They are glad, not yelling at the TV during soccer like in the other pubs. The bartender gives us a free shot and smiles at my flirtatious girl. Her shoulders are exposed and she's receptive. Her energy is a powerful light beaming from the chest. She reminds me of me! He leans in to tell us that Brugge is thinking of creating a network of underground piping strictly for beer because the cobblestone alleyways are too narrow for the beer trucks. Leine laughs but I've turned cynical and profess that the town looks a bit like the town in Pinocchio. Like the buildings are set pieces and that our perfect little world might crumble. How much beer did I have here? Am I that unsure of her love? I'm being unfair, of course. Leine has done nothing to deserve my darkness. Her hand has been a fixture on my thigh. It's not until later, when we meet an Englishman here, who warns us of pickpockets in Rome, that our night unfolds into powder white oblivion.
