While on the hunt for the best frites in Bruges, Chez Vincent came up. I had to walk a little farther from the main town square but I would say it was worth it. Service was fairly quick and the portion is HUGE but they do charge for a sauce on your fries so I chose the samurai sauce (spicy mayo). The fries are nice and crispy without being too oily and the sauce was decent but after a while the sauce got a little too heavy and some fries were drenched in it while others were not. Not sure if getting the sauce on the side is an option (or if they charge you for that) but these fries would have been amazing with it! Overall, these fries were great, perfect for sharing, decently priced and it looked better than the ones sold in the city center.

This review is only for the Belgian Fries. As a tourist in Belgium one has to have "belgian frites". I found this place to have the best fries in Bruges. The frites are double fried, making them extra crispy. Additionally you can choose sauces to drizzle on top of the frites. I think they do the additional frying of the frites when ordered so were pretty hot. very inexpensive for the frites, AND if you order from them the bathrooms are free to use (unlike the Friterie). Yes finding a public bathroom where you don't have to pay is a pretty big hassle in Europe.

Chez Vincent lives up to the hype and offers traditional Belgian Friets just off the beaten path. If there is a crowd, check the upstairs seating, we did and it was perfect!

Great quality, a delightful place to get take away chips after wandering around the magnificent St Salvatore church.

I don't know if they were the best in Bruges or Belgium, but they were good and better than most I have had in the USA.

We took a seat by the window (may be to draw in more customers!) but it allowed us to people watch anyway. We asked what beer was on offer but the waiter spoke very quickly in a strong accent so just opted for 2 cokes! We ordered a burger with mozzarella & pesto & a classic. The burgers were homemade & so juicy & tender they began to fall apart. The chips were ok. Nice touch was the wooden boards used as placemats which were notched out to fit together. Good burger restaurant at about 16€ - 18€ each but did have options of steaks & pasta also.

TL;DR - Poor quality and service, high prices…read more Full story: Everyone said how crowded Bruges would be, and to make a reservation or suffer the consequences. It was all very dramatic, this "finding a place to eat in Bruges" business. So, when we saw that one of the spots on our list of recs, Burger & Burger, was virtually empty, we practically ran to the door to get a table. We happened to get there right when it opened at noon, so it was no problem and we were sat right away. I think that was the only good thing that happened :/ The server was really, really off. He stumbled over every interaction and couldn't answer basic questions (was the chicken burger breaded or grilled?) and brought me a prosecco instead of what I ordered (Montepuliciano - which I pointed to o the menu and *said by name* so find hard to give leeway there). He at least went to check on the chicken query, but came back with "It's just normal chicken." Which I took to mean grilled and was correct. So the burgers clocked in at €16 *and up* (the chicken was around €13-14). That included fries, at least, which came out in one big bowl instead of separately with our respective orders (not a huge deal, but awkward when one person at the table eats with the speed of a starved animal, and the other has been known to be such a slow eater she reheats her meal halfway through eating it). In any case, the quality was just not there for the prices. The buns were not fresh tasting at all, and disintegrated in our hands. It was not asked how we wanted to the meat cooked (for a place that specialises in burgers and steaks I find this absurd) and the service was super bumpy. One final pet peeve - the music. In what I assume was an attempt to embody the "posh burger" thing they're peddling, the music was jazz - but like a very frenetic style that was slightly too loud and put the whole experience on edge.
