The foood was delicious. I dont know how Nicaraguans season or cook their steaks, or if its flank steak of what cut of steak it is, but it's addicting, scrumptious and extremely affordable. Plus fried cheese and the salad. which always comes in a little plastic bag . Loved it.

Great little Fritanga spot in Sweetwater. They are located in a very small strip , no frills plaza. Don't be put off by the surroundings, this is as local as it gets when you're craving some genuine Nicaraguan food. Portions are huge, prices are awesome, and the staff is no nonsense. Their selections vary daily , but the best bets are their Carne Asada or Cerdo Asada. The side choices include boiled yuca, plantains, mashed potatoes or plantain chips. Make sure you grab some of their cabbage salad and picante sauce, which adds a nice zing to your meal. If you have a sweet tooth, pick up their rice pudding or one their pastries. All in all, it's a great little joint and an easy meal when you're just too tired to cook. Two combos were enough to feed our family of 5!

I ordered from this place on UberEats which I have done before with no problems. My order was incorrect and the meat was extremely overcooked and chewy which was already upsetting. Nearly finished with my meal and I find a small roach cooked into one of the beans in my plate! I called the restaurant and they insisted it was impossible but that thing was cooked!

I just realized I haven't written a review for this place and I've come here a few times already! One of my favorite fritanga places in Miami. It's close to FIU campus so drive over for a quick and filling lunch to go. For a great price, it's like you're paying for 2 meals. It's more of a to go restaurant since there's only like 2-3 small 2 seater tables inside. Parking can be very limited since it's in a very small plaza. The staff is friendly and I'm always greeted with a smile. I always get the Carne Asada with Maduros and rice/beans. Don't forget their side of their cabbage slaw! The acidity from the slaw balances nicely with the heaviness of the meal. Everything is flavorful and the meat is tender. Gotta get a side of their hot sauce too! Before I left for my clinical rotation outside of SoFlo, I knew I had to stop by here one more time because it'll be awhile for the next time I have some good fritanga food again. Go check this place out and you won't be disappointed!

    Fritanga Nica in Sweetwater

Hidden in Sweetwater close to FIU you can find this Nicaraguan Fritanga place that really caught me by surprise. Don't be fooled by the looks of this place, the Nica ladies who run this spot provide amazing food and were super nice. It looks like a to go spot when you come in but you can eat the food there. As in a lot of Latin places most the food is already prepared for you & on display for you to choose what you want. The servings are generous and the prices are as cheap as it gets. I had your typical Nica combo. Carne Asada ( Grillled Beef Strips) ; Gallo Pinto ( Rice & Red Beans ) ; Ensalada Repollo ( a vinagre coleslaw ) ; Tajadas ( plantains like Tostones but more like long chips ) and may favorite part the Queso Frito ( a fried Cheese ). The carne asada beef had to be the most juiciest tender pieces of meat I've ever had at any Nica restaurant. The Gallo pinto was fire. If your ever in that neighborhood you should really try out the food here.

it's been hard finding a good fritanga lately, this place really hit the spot. Went in at around 8pm and the food was so fresh and delicious. I usually am not a fan of gallo pinto because it can be dry, but this one was perfect! The fried cheese pieces are HUUUGE ! This will be my go to spot when craving nica food.

This my local go to Fritanga. Let's just say I drive all the way from kendall to Fritanga 505 for my carne asada dinner or lunch. If you are in area and want to try authentic Nicaragua flavor this is your spot. My go to dish is carne asada, Gallo pinto, a queso frito, tajadas and ensalada de repollo. My brother enjoys the cerdo asado with white rice. Oh and I almost forgot to mention to always make sure you have Chile.

Fast and easy delicious food on the go. I don't come here often but when I do is to cure a cold with their yummy soup up filled with delicious vegetables.

Best Fritanga in my opinion. Everything is good here. Their tacos, carne asada, quesillos, and nacatamal es!

The music selection is fire though and I was jamming out the whole time while waiting for my food. I complimented them on the music selection and they mentioned the owner is dominican and puerto rican which explained the great music selection. I was helped out by Adrian and his service was helpful in finding what dishes to order. I took my food to go and it was piping hot, definitely made fresh to order which I enjoyed. The nachos were what I was most eager to try as they are all the rage on social media. They lived up to the hype and that nacho cheese is absolute gold. I love that it's served in a pizza box. It just makes it iconic. It travels well and everything was still hot when I got home. The Al Pastor taco was just okay, nothing to write home about but now the steak burrito was really really good. I love that they don't have rice in their burritos and instead replace it with potatoes, which is absolutely delicious. They give two different types of salsas with your order plus limes and the green salsa is unreal. Add it to everything for a flavor boost! All in all this place is fire and if you're craving nachos, this is definitely the place you should come to get your fix!

We are very disappointed that the chicken and steak burritos were not seasoned very well (bland) and both were so dry. I couldn't even taste any cheese in the chicken burrito either. I took a few bites and had to give the rest to our dogs. What a shame. My daughter couldn't finish her burrito either. I tasted her steak burrito and it didn't taste like any steak that I have ever tried. So disappointing. The guac and chips were good but they were like a little side dish. So, there went a wasted $50 for lunch. We were still hungry. Since it was a to-go order, we didn't feel like going back all that way again. It was a very hot day. Service was strange. I sat in the car but my daughter went up to the counter to pick up our order. She stood there for a long time in the hot sun and no one helped her. There was a bag sitting on the counter already. Finally when she was helped, the guy said that the bag sitting there was ours!! She was highly irritated fir the poor service. He should have checked to see if his customer was there to pick up the only bag on the counter. In retrospect, we should have tasted our burritos before driving home to taste them but we trusted them. Sorry to say, we won't be going back.

My dinner plans changed last minute due to the weather, which was heavily raining and decided on Lolita despite not having reservations. Upon arrival we were instructed to go upstairs where the very young and inexperienced host could not figure out the system and said sorry there was no availability to accommodate us. We left disappointed and while going downstairs I decided to pull uo their booking site to confirm availability. The system reflected several available time slots for dinner. Kudos to the downstairs host that accommodated us immediately once I showed her the system reflected availability. The servers were truly incredible downstairs and I appreciate the very attentive and charming service provided throughout the evening! I ordered a beet salad which was almost perfect but was lacking feta or goat cheese which I highly recommend they consider having in the kitchen. The oxtails tacos were delicious and very filing. I also enjoyed the brown dessert. Thank you for a yummy evening with fantastic service!
