As a non Spanish speaking person going to a restaurant here I was little scared. They were so nice and do speak English and help me with knowing what type of food they serve. They were only cash so I didn't have enough money for one of them item and they were so kind of enough to give it for free. I will go there again and the size was so generous. read more

Fritanga 505 - Juice Bars & Smoothies Near Me - Miami, Florida

I've been told that this is the best Fritanga spot so I had to visit. I think they definitely give the other Fritanga joints a run for their money. Their Gallo Pinto is outstanding. I've tried the Carne Asada and Grilled Ribs, which are both delicious. Their trays always display so much food that I don't know where to start. I aim to try a new item each time. Note: their portions are huge so you can get two meals from one order. read more

Well, I decided to come back because I guess they have new management. It seems a little bit cleaner now and less but I was there wasn't even treated right the cashier was rude. Plus she put more tips on the card but they have improved. I didn't like much the meat it had no flavor read more

The foood was delicious. I dont know how Nicaraguans season or cook their steaks, or if its flank steak of what cut of steak it is, but it's addicting, scrumptious and extremely affordable. Plus fried cheese and the salad. which always comes in a little plastic bag . Loved it. read more

As a Miamian woman who's had her fair share of Nicaraguan food, I can confidently say this spot is a gem. I stumbled upon it through a video on Instagram. The food looked so good, I literally got in my car and drove there the same day. And let me tell you, no regrets. The place is super clean, the girls working there are incredibly friendly, and the food? Hands down the best Nica food I've ever had. Flavorful, authentic, and clearly made with love. If you're craving Nicaraguan food that tastes like it came straight from someone's abuela's kitchen, this is it. 100% recommend. read more

This place is up there with caña brava . The portions are great . The food is great and the cacao is also great .

Nicaraguan here. This place is a C- at most and that's being generous. Fell into all the hype and decided to give it a try. Tried just about all the fritangas around the city and this one easily took the title for worst one. There's two other ones a couple of blocks down that you'd be better off trying and for sure enjoying over this one. La Chavala and Carneasada Tortillera Nica. Food was mid, the gallopinto was very greasy and the carneasada was dry and not even enjoyable. read more

Nicaraguan here. If these is nothing open the go. The gallopinto was soooo greasy! Do not go here if you have high cholesterol. The steak was OK didn't have that juicy sour orange taste. It was very basic even the juices were not that good overall, this place to me is a one star. read more

The food here is good but the prices have gone up so much. I got carne asada with gallo pinto and maduros. They ran out of queso frito and I also ordered the taquitos which come 3 in an order and a medium cacao and was charged 27$. I find this to be a bit too much compared to before. read more

Great little Fritanga spot in Sweetwater. They are located in a very small strip , no frills plaza. Don't be put off by the surroundings, this is as local as it gets when you're craving some genuine Nicaraguan food. Portions are huge, prices are awesome, and the staff is no nonsense. Their selections vary daily , but the best bets are their Carne Asada or Cerdo Asada. The side choices include boiled yuca, plantains, mashed potatoes or plantain chips. Make sure you grab some of their cabbage salad and picante sauce, which adds a nice zing to your meal. If you have a sweet tooth, pick up their rice pudding or one their pastries. All in all, it's a great little joint and an easy meal when you're just too tired to cook. Two combos were enough to feed our family of 5! read more

I ordered from this place on UberEats which I have done before with no problems. My order was incorrect and the meat was extremely overcooked and chewy which was already upsetting. Nearly finished with my meal and I find a small roach cooked into one of the beans in my plate! I called the restaurant and they insisted it was impossible but that thing was cooked! read more

I just realized I haven't written a review for this place and I've come here a few times already! One of my favorite fritanga places in Miami. It's close to FIU campus so drive over for a quick and filling lunch to go. For a great price, it's like you're paying for 2 meals. It's more of a to go restaurant since there's only like 2-3 small 2 seater tables inside. Parking can be very limited since it's in a very small plaza. The staff is friendly and I'm always greeted with a smile. I always get the Carne Asada with Maduros and rice/beans. Don't forget their side of their cabbage slaw! The acidity from the slaw balances nicely with the heaviness of the meal. Everything is flavorful and the meat is tender. Gotta get a side of their hot sauce too! Before I left for my clinical rotation outside of SoFlo, I knew I had to stop by here one more time because it'll be awhile for the next time I have some good fritanga food again. Go check this place out and you won't be disappointed! read more

Hidden in Sweetwater close to FIU you can find this Nicaraguan Fritanga place that really caught me by surprise. Don't be fooled by the looks of this place, the Nica ladies who run this spot provide amazing food and were super nice. It looks like a to go spot when you come in but you can eat the food there. As in a lot of Latin places most the food is already prepared for you & on display for you to choose what you want. The servings are generous and the prices are as cheap as it gets. I had your typical Nica combo. Carne Asada ( Grillled Beef Strips) ; Gallo Pinto ( Rice & Red Beans ) ; Ensalada Repollo ( a vinagre coleslaw ) ; Tajadas ( plantains like Tostones but more like long chips ) and may favorite part the Queso Frito ( a fried Cheese ). The carne asada beef had to be the most juiciest tender pieces of meat I've ever had at any Nica restaurant. The Gallo pinto was fire. If your ever in that neighborhood you should really try out the food here. read more

it's been hard finding a good fritanga lately, this place really hit the spot. Went in at around 8pm and the food was so fresh and delicious. I usually am not a fan of gallo pinto because it can be dry, but this one was perfect! The fried cheese pieces are HUUUGE ! This will be my go to spot when craving nica food. read more

This my local go to Fritanga. Let's just say I drive all the way from kendall to Fritanga 505 for my carne asada dinner or lunch. If you are in area and want to try authentic Nicaragua flavor this is your spot. My go to dish is carne asada, Gallo pinto, a queso frito, tajadas and ensalada de repollo. Just got two plates, one was cerdo asado (charbroiled pork strips) and the other was pollo al caldillo (kinda like chicken stew) , the pork was way over cooked and burnt in some parts. It comes with Gallo Pinto which was bland, fried plantains strips which were oily and dark like the oil needed to be changed before frying, also traditional Nica cole slaw which was good. The worst part was the price 14.00 dollars for Fritanga food. Out of curiosity I called Monimbo Fritanga and their price was 10.17 (actual price I was quoted over the phone). Don't really know how the chicken was as that was for a family member I don't live with and didn't ask them, but that was also 14.00 and basically same sides. The price at Monimbo was also 10.17 for that plate. I will never go back to Fritanga 505, plus the lady that served me was very upset that I asked not to be given any burnt pork, so that didn't help.... read more

Fairly large portions you can easily share with a loved one. Try the carne asada with gallo pinto (rice and beans) and maduros (fried yellow, sweet plantains! Add a slice of fried cheese if you're feeling naughty and aren't counting calories, it's SO worth it! The raspados are a nice refreshing ultra sweet treat on a hot day! They're basically shaved ice with different flavors. Try the caramel one it is delicious! Pick up some cuajada (very moist cheese) and tortillas to satisfy a Nica craving at home! read more

This was my friend's and I's first time trying Nicaraguan food or any Fritanga place and we vowed to come back. It's basically two meals worth of amazing food for only $9. I asked the lady at the counter what she recommended and immediately she said the carne asada. After my first bite of it I quickly realized why, it was DELICIOUS! So I got that obviously, with some mixed rice and beans (don't remember the name), plantains, pico de gallo, and fried cheese. Everything tasted great and again, this most likely will last you two meals! It's a small place but has seating if you want to eat inside. If you haven't tried Nicaraguan food yet, come to this place!! read more

Everytime I am in Miami for work, my first craving for food is Nicaraguan. I am so glad I was able to stumble upon this restaurant. Let me just say that from the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with a smile and immediate attention. The server explained to me the menu and how everything worked. I had carne asada, gallo pinto, maduros fritos y ensalada de repollo. OH MY GOD! The food is off the chain, on point, fire, off the hizzy..whatever you want to call it, it's it! I wish this restaurant was so much closer to home because I would eat there every SINGLE day. Thank you for the welcoming hospitality and the excellent food. Let me start by saying I am not Nicaraguan however I do speak Spanish but every time I have come to this location someone is available that speaks English. If you are accustomed to eating in any Fritanga the service is always the same this location is no different they treat you the same as everyone else. The food is always fresh and if they're at the end of the tray they're happy to bring out a fresh made item for your order. This is a no-frills mom-and-pop restaurant where the grandmother prepares a lot of the dishes and the grandkids work the counter so you know you're helping a local family when you eat here! The best part is that after all the Nica places I've eaten in Miami I have to say that they have the largest portions and the best tasting food and juices around !! read more

I really liked the food here it was fresh and given in big portions! So much food it's enough for two. Second I loved the respados which really have a good taste as well. Third I love the prices because it's reasonable and your getting your money's worth! I honestly have nothing bad to say, good staff, good natural drinks, and it gives you a homey feel to it. Especially if you want to know a little more about Latin America and their culture of good then you should come HERE! Hands down best nica food I have ever had! I had gallo pinto (rice and beans) with carne asada and platano Maduro (plantains) and queso frito (fried cheese) with a famous drink here called "cacao" it's kinda like chocolate but better! read more

Whether you're Nica or not, you NEED To try this place. Prices are great They cook and serve you like if they were your mom. The place is small, so it's better to order to go but you can also eat inside of you wanna feel in 1990's Nicaragua. read more

If you're ever in Miami - and interested in no frills Nicaraguan or Central American food - I HIGHLY recommend this place. Especially meet Julian, their amazing food ambassador! He was very friendly and took the time to patiently explain and help me pick vegetarian options, something that's not easy with this cuisine. We stopped by here during our vacation to Miami and ended up eating our weight in Nicaraguan food -- and at a minimal price! We ordered: gallo pinto, chicken jalapeno, guiso de zucchini, quesillo, some potato and cheese delicacy (can't remember the name), pico de gallo, and maduros. Also drank cacao on the side. Everything was delicious, and our food lasted us a whole 3 meals! I even went back to get my favorite Presto Coffee. Again, I would highly recommend this place if you're in the area! read more

I've even seen them cleaning the restaurant in front of me. Must try! They even put aside the last order of chicken jalapeño (which I love ! This place has amazing Nicaraguan food. I always get the rice steak and plantains and they give so much I split it into 2 meals. They have so much other options like chicken and other types of meats with other flavorings that I'm too stupid to remember.
