My sons Alternator was bad, but instead of replacing the alternator, they installed a new battery (which they probably already had in the shop). Thereby making $200 on the deal. (Battery + Labor), plus keeping my perfectly fine $200 Sears Platinum battery. If they would have done the correct thing and just replaced the alternator, they would not have made much money on the deal. This is especially alarming because my son was a student at Colgate and the garage owner knew my son didn't have the automotive "know-how" to push back... and I was 300 miles away. I checked all my tires and at first all of them looked good, the TPMS in the Honda CRV 2016 EXL, only lights up and lets you know there is a loss of pressure from the tires. I started by checking the pressure with my tire gauge for all 4 tires, eventually finding the culprit to be my rear right passenger tire with a 2 inch screw which was actually not all the way into the tire. Oddly, i was on my way from Binghamton University and I had previously check my tires the day before. Anytime I take a trip that is greater than 100 miles, i always do a visual inspection of the tires and I also recalibrate the air pressure to maximize my MPG. So finding a screw embedded in the tire was upsetting but clearly unavoidable. When i got out at exit 84 off 17 East, i made a run to the gas station but they do not repair flats, instead my wife looked up a Napa Auto parts store and I walked in to ask if they could help. The attendant at the store sent me down the block to a repair shop and they were able to plug the tire without even taking the tire out. It took about 15 minutes as they removed the screw, the repair person showed it to me and he immediately plugged the tire as I watch. I paid him $20, as I paid cash! Greatly appreciated that they help me and that it was a quick fix. They were quick, friendly and efficient.

They contacted "Approved Towing" of Oneonta and they were there in about an hour. We need to tires for our Camper trailer due to the fact they both blew out at the same time. "Approved" went to get the tires and rims, all mounted, and came out with them in about 1 hour. Shortly there after we were on our way. "THANKS AGAIN APPROVED Towing".
