Vic's Service - Second repair - parts

Our son's car broke down on on our way to bring him to his freshman year in college (which is 5…read morehours away from home for us). Being from out of the area, we weren't sure where to go or what to do. After calling the Jeep dealer and being told that they couldn't even look at his car for three weeks, my husband did a Google search and found Vic's Service. He called and was immediately impressed with their customer service and willingness to help us. Even though they said they might not be able to look at it for a day or two, they looked at his Jeep as soon as the tow truck dropped it off and we had a diagnosis that morning. From there, we continued to be impressed and satisfied with their service. Christina got on the phone and found us a new engine and gave us a reasonable estimate that afternoon. They had the parts and began working on his Jeep within two days and were very thorough. They communicated with us during the whole process and made sure that everything was running well and that there were no other underlying issues before they returned the car to my son. We were kept up to speed with how things were going and they checked in with us when they found other issues, telling us up front what the costs would be before they made the repairs. We truly appreciate the service and care that we received at Vic's and I am very grateful to Christina for her care and concern. Dropping our son off to college 5 hours from home was stressful on its own. The car issue had the potential to send me over the edge, but the staff at Vic's was so helpful and accommodating and made the experience so much better. My son has had the car back for over a week and it's running great, just like they promised. Thank you so much!

I went here for a particular issue which was small and affordable to fix but while they were under…read morethe car they "discovered" a completely unrelated issue that was expensive. I was surprised and not confident about their recommendation, but in the end I ignored my intuition and went ahead with the additional $1,400 repair. That was my bad, I should've taken a step back and gotten a second opinion and I did not. A couple weeks later the person that recommended Vic's to me took her own car there. There was a check engine light on that seemed to be related to tire pressure. Vic's assessed and told her the all four sensors on her tires were bad and needed to be replaced for about $700. She was bummed, but trusted them completely. I told her my reservations and urged her to get a second opinion. The second opinion: all sensors were good, there was a nail in the tire that needed to be removed and patched, $40 max. I'm not sure if there was any dishonesty or just ineptitude, but it's enough for me not to go back.

And I mean RUDE! The disgruntled tow driver was rolling his eyes, sighing, and acting like a grumpy 5 year old the entire time. I try to give the benefit of the doubt and have patience. Maybe he was having a bad day. But even after I paid him and thanked him repeatedly, he had the nerve to take up more of my time and complain about the sound of my truck, among other things. Basically the business is run by an annoying boomer who enjoys price gouging and thinks he knows everything. Next time I will call the guy on 220 in Oxford who was incredibly pleasant (even in 10 degree weather and icy roads at midnight) and charges $50 less to tow 20 miles longer!! Forget this place.

They threatened me multiple times stating that I no longer own the vehicle unless I payed and they would ramp up prices until they get the money, straight wicked. The man talked with no empathy unless getting the money so messed up to do to a student with barely enough to get by. Please do something else that doesn't even include these disgusting folk that care about nothing but money, I tried to get my receipt after and he talked to me like I was an enemy, straight up mad that I was even on the phone with him after the transaction. Dismissing any of my worries on where my money went saying I would "just have to deal with it" WHO SAYS THAT IN A BUSINESS SETTING?? in what world?? He doesn't even take my email down saying "that's your fault for saying it wrong oh well" this is something you read out of a book how unbelievable it is he says I would have to call back and will send it if I'm lucky. Don't.go.here. -- it doesn't let me reply to their response but if you think this is due to insurance your insane. I know what I was told. And I was given a rate of 700 before the day I called to get my vehicle out of there. I even called on that Monday to no response but only a dismissive "we where busy" I surely do understand that, but when your charging 95 a day YOU DONT GET TO BRUSH OFF CALLS OF SOMEONE TRYING TO GET THEIR CAR OFF YOUR LOT. This all with the most rude person on this earth on the phone with me still making threats. I'm not so silly to just come and drop a one star just because it's so fun, every thing has a reason. Another reason being the mechanic you brought it too says that you guys caused more damage to my cars frame due to you guys NOT KNOWING how to do your jobs, you think someone is going to go for that? You must be on something strong. Craziest part is I was asking so politely to just leave my car somewhere else that weekend if they would charge that much a day but they refused. And what you guys did after I tried to get my receipt was what tipped me over enjoy this one star.

I don't normally write reviews online. In fact, I believe that this is my first. However, the…read moreservice I received from this business was more than satisfactory, and felt inclined to share. Over Easter weekend, in fact during the early morning hours of, I was on a trip with a friend and everything underneath my car's hood sounded like it was grinding itself into pieces. I was able to pull over on the side of the road and called this 24 hour towing service. The driver, whom I believe his name to be Brian, arrived shortly thereafter and assisted myself and my friend. He towed the car, which was a few miles outside of a town I learned to be Greene, as I was not familiar with the area at all. He gave us a ride along with my vehicle to the garage, and did his best to help us. He called us a cab from Binghampton to pick us up at 2am to bring us to the closest hotel. He even brought us to a 24 hour gas station to wait for the cab, which we were grateful for since it was freezing, and we didnt know where we were. He was very kind helpful, and professional. Then, by Monday, the mechanics were able to look at my vehicle, diagnose the damage, give me an estimate on repairs, and order the parts needed by early that afternoon. The vehicle was repaired and they kept in regular contact with me throughout. They called me Wednesday mornign and told me the vehicle was repaired and ready for when I could pick it up, which unfortunately, since I was back home two hours away at this point, I had to wait until Thursday to do when I could get a ride after work. So I made arrangements to come later Thursday, but could only make it there after business hours. They agreed to leave my key in a concealed place so that I could come at my earliest convenience even if they were closed. By the time I got there Thursday evening, my car was pulled up and ready to drive out. I was also pleased to see they had taken the time to wash it, and while that was a small and unneccessary thing, it made me happy to see the care put into the work they do here. When I turned my key, you would never had known that just days before it had sounded like a metal concert under my hood. Everthing from the helpful towtruck driver, to the speedy repair, being kept updated, friendly employees, and yes, even the clean car, was so outstanding, when I had been working 80 hours per week for the last month at the two jobs I have, and the last thing I needed in my life was a lack of transportation. Tri County Collision helped turn an awful car experience into some faith that there are businesses out there that care about their customers and working two customer service jobs myself, I know that positive feedback should be given when it's due. To end this long review I just want to say thank you so much for being amazing at what you do and I would recommend this establishment to everyone.
