We came on wednesday, late afternoon. Not many people. Loud heavy metal music playing.oh boy (eyeroll). It's a sports bar really. Mostly burgers and other sandwhichs. Me and my boyfriend sat at the bar here last Friday or (March 13th), and the atmosphere was good and I enjoyed my food, but the bartender that served us would make creepy comments to some of the customers and I think the other staff as well. Ok, I went back and spoke with a different manager. Explained the fun I had with Amani and he offered to prepare the meal for free. Ok. The steak salad came out and was a steak AND a salad, not a "black and blue" salad which is a wedge salad with blackened steak and blue cheese dressing. Ok, I told the manager about the error and he says he will fix it. This time, the owner came over and assured me that he would make CERTAIN it was correct this time. Since discovering the meatless deliciousness of the Impossible Burger, I have been far more willing to try vegan options. So tonight, during a party for a friend here at Friends I ordered the beyond burger, which I hoped would be similar to the Impossible Burger. But the only similarity between the two is they are both meatless! The Beyond Burger is proof that two companies can have the same idea and come up with totally different results, and not in a good way! While the Impossible Burger is indeed beefy in flavor, the Beyond Burger tastes and looks more like Spam, which I absolutely hate! SIDE NOTE: it also smells like animal food. I hated it so much that I did something I rarely ever do, I sent it back!!! The owner stopped by my table and joked about my sending back the burger, but ultimately replaced it with their Dad's Fish n' Chips. The flavor of the Beyond Burger was so gross that I totally lost my appetite for a burger. Overall Friends is a decent little neighborhood joint to come hang out, chow on typical bar foods, have a drink and/or watch a game! I love the owners heart! They're super sweet people that really try to give back to the community, so for that reason I won't give this review any less than three stars. We will NEVER return to this location and we have been there many times with VERY large parties. #1 We asked our waitress, "why our children were charged for their drinks?" she said, "because our kids didn't specify they wanted kids drinks when they ordered their drinks. If we don't specify that we want kid cups she gives them big cups and we have to pay for them." --Wtf our kids ordered kids meals!! -- #2 we asked, "why the menu stated that the kids could choose between tots or fries as a side but we were charged for the tots?" and she said, " we ordered off the old menu and now it's only fries so we have to pay for the tots with the kids meals now." #3 WORST OF ALL 3 servers and the manager proceeded to gossip, laugh, point and be all around completely disrespectful! So I've been looking for a new close bar OTP and I have a few things that I'm looking for. A friendly staff, good drinks, and a sense of community from patrons. Friends has been knocking it out of the park so far. The biggest surprise so far is how good the food has been. The smoked wings are absolutely amazing. I'm a firm believer in who the best wings in Atlanta are but the wings here are firmly in contention. Every burger I've seen looks amazing as well. And how can I not mention that pretzel tho! Friends is our local home away from home for us and our baseball team. The service is always awesome but tonight Hands down we had an amazing server.
