The quality and taste of the food this Friendly's serves is no different than others and popular food chains. HOWEVER, the appearances is very gourmet and the environment is VERY clean. i guess its because its HQ staff is popping in every now and then to make sure the place is running properly. read more

Disgusting!! Never in my many years as a loyal Friendly's customer have I witnessed the waitress/cooks using NO gloves, it is absolutely unacceptable. Cooks touching food with bare hands,I immediately lost my appetite. I believed sitting at the counter I'd be able to reminisce of this diner my husband and I used to go to in Worchester. That turned out to be a total bust!! I thought being next to corporate would give them a leg up guess not. If you would like to have a nice SANITARY meal definitely don't come to this establishment. Let's the phone ring and never answers it. I called 3 times to order sundaes and they never answered the phone.

We have chosen to avoid this Friendlys for some time now because of extremely slow service, rising prices and smaller portions. I wanted to treat the kids this morning to breakfast and wanted to stay close to home so Friendlys was my choice. Unfortunately, even at 7:30 in the morning, we were left waiting to be seated with only one front staff person who was helping someone with take out. He said he would be with us shortly a couple of times before we eventually left. I'll add that there were no other customers in the sit down section. NONE. What could possibly have been the delay? Had breakfast with the family today at this location. Service was very friendly. Food was ok, not bad but not excellent. It seems like they keep changing their menu and raising their prices and their portions keep getting smaller. We went for breakfast so it was fine. But why would I pay over $10 for a meal at friendlys when I can get a much better (not fried) meal at a restaurant? read more

I got the Apple Harvest Salad. The greens were not as fresh as I would've liked, but the apples and chicken went well together. The walnuts absorbed the dressing, which was a little salty. Service was on he slower side, but reasonable. read more

As lifelong Western Mass residents, Friendlys is an institution my husband and I know very well. In fact, we both have good memories of going there as kids with our families. And then... We grew up. And we realized that Friendlys really isn't (or wasn't) that great. In fact, the last time we went was over 5 years ago when we went for breakfast and it was utterly underwhelming. That, coupled with the financial crisis that the Friendlys Corporation was going through (and so many restaurants closing, the one closest to us included) was why we ultimately stopped going to Friendlys as a whole. In fact, I honestly thought that by now Friendlys as a whole would be gone. But alas, you guys seemed to turn things around, had some good marketing people try to convince everyone to give you guys another chance, so this morning my husband and I decided to do just that. We went to the Friendlys on Boston Road in Springfield (the one RIGHT next to the headquarters in Wilbraham -so one would imagine that it would be top notch) walked in just before 9 and were greeted by..... No one. A man who looked like a manager was standing at the ice cream register, and he didn't even say "Hey guys, we'll be with you in a few minutes". Nope, just did his thing there and walked away. There were also a couple waitresses filtering in and out of the dining room and the kitchen who didn't say anything to us either. Finally, after being there about 5-7 minutes and not being acknowledged at all, my husband said very audibly "Do we just sit down or what?" To try to get some attention. A seating hostess appeared and asked for a name and how many. When my husband answered "Nathan, 2" she then said it would be a few minutes. Now, ordinarily that would be fine, but there were clearly empty tables AND we had already been waiting for a "few minutes". (Also, she had a headphone in, why are you listening to music while you should be attending to customers, but whatever). When my husband asked exactly how long it would be, she said basically it would be at least 10 minutes. That's not a few minutes. I gotta say, I was more than willing to give Friendlys another chance, but a start like that wasn't worth it for us. We left and went Casa Cafe in East Longmeadow, a place some friends recommended, where we were seated right away, super friendly staff, and it was utterly delicious. Wow. Went on Saturday night 3/12/16. And can honestly say that we will NEVER go back! When we came in we were greeted by a young lady that said "Ya'll wanna sit?" (Umm no, we want to stand up right here.) So she seats us all the way to the far wall. Been here 500 times in my life and never sat there. No biggie tho. So as we walk down the isle there is a group of guys sitting there and they have a dog. Ok. We could careless about the pup as we are dog lovers. However, the dog smelled awful and that all we could smell. Gross. People if you want to bring your dog's to a restaurant, please remember that other people are paying for their meals too, and wash you animal. We grabbed our menu's. Two separate menu's and we both were greeted with slimy, sticky, surprises. completely gross and unacceptable. We almost just got up and left(we should have!). We ordered our drinks and it took about 20 minutes to get the drinks. It was not that busy for the time of day and the staff that they had. The cups come out dirty and chipped. We didn't touch them. My girl ordered a burger and I ordered the Munchie mania. He burger was under cooked and looked like slop on a bun. The sliders on my munchie mania were pink! How? They're little patties! Gross. I forgot to mention that all the empty stations were filty! And that one of the waitresses sat at the end of our row with a giant chocolate ice cream cake and a spoon! We watched her eating and eating until another waitress walked over and asked her wtf she was doing and to get up and do something! Wow Friendlies? Really? Come on. We won't even come back here for prepackaged cakes! Awful awful awful. Take the trip to Westfield. This place is bad to terrible. read more

To be honest, I have not been to a Friendlys in over a year after having a bad experience previously. This location was outstanding! I was greeted immediately and then taken care of by waitress Gianna. She was phenomenal! The last time I was in a Friendlys the menu was different and she did a great job being patient with me and helping me decide on lunch. The food came out fast and hot. I will most certainly be returning more frequently to this location. read more

Ordered 3 sundaes at the take out window. Ordering was difficult because the waitress at the counter had a hard time with the register. It took about 15 minutes to get the sundaes... very poor service. read more

I recently placed a to go order here and when I went to pick it up I was never greeted. I stood at the counter while a group of people stood talking in the back, they kept looking at me but never came to help me. This skinny looking male which seemed to be the manager moved the conversation to the podium where another group started talking and looking at me but no one came to help or to even say we'll be right with you. I got a lot of stares and no service. It was awful. I have worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years and I know awful service and this was it. I ended up leaving ,hungry and pissed off, without my order. This place needs to just give up and close. read more

Not sure what has happened to, what used to be one of my favorite lunch restaurants. When I walk in at 12 noon (lunch time) the tables are dirty and the servers all all standing around talking. The have clear a table for me. There are only 3 other tables in use at the time. Once I'm seated the servers have an argument about being off and not wanting to take me. In front of me. Where is the manager? It looks like the staff is running the place without a manager. Too bad..... read more

Ive stopped at this location frequently and the service varies on the time of day. If you go at night your service will most likely be slow, but if you go during the day you might just get the best service possible. The food always comes out just as great as expected, i always get the philly melt, or the bbq chicken melt. They also make a great fribble at this specific location. so my mother and daughter went in today to have a nice lunch after some weekend activities and was blown away by the awful experience that friendlys on boston rd had presented. the food was not cooked like ordered,the waitress jalida was completely way over her head and had horrible customer service experience,and to top it off my credit card was ran twice which of course i have to wait until monday to fix from my bank. other than the new store mangaer being very friendly and helpful the whole experience was a complete disaster. for people looking to have a family lunch...rethink your options before heading to friendlys. read more
