They went right to work on researching the periodic problem and have spent hours fixing it. True service, not sell it and forget it. I can say they back the products and services they sell 100%. Jon helped me out with my 10-year-old MacBook Pro, Ol' Bess. I took it in knowing that the battery was on its way out so Jon took a look inside. Turned out my battery was swelling and upon further examination my hard drive cable was also damaged. He was very upfront and honest about his recommendation to discontinue the repair and let Ol' Bess finish out her days in peace. He got it to where the trackpad was temporarily functioning again (it was sticking due to the swelling battery) and even re-adhered the loose glass to my screen (a separate issue) I appreciate his candor as previously I'd been given the run around by the Apple Store. I was charged a very reasonable price considering Jon was able to get Ol' Bess working just enough for me to retrieve some documents off of her. I ended up ordering a new MacBook Pro and if anything is to go wrong with that one, I'll surely SKIP THE APPLE STORE and go straight to Friendly PC. read more

Friendly computers "don't care" when you have issues with them. I wanted my computer ungraded. During the quoting process they were friendly and knowledgeable. I decided on a new motherboard, 16 gb DDR4 3200 Corsair Dominator Platinum RAM, a Samsung 512 nvme ssd drive, a new i7 7700 CPU and a new water cooler. Total quote price, $1,423.09. During our discussion I told them my computer was 5 years old and needed cleaning as well. They said there would be no cost since they were replacing so many of the computers components. They special ordered the parts, I waited for the parts to come in, and then made the appointment to have the work done. After doping off my computer, they called me to tell me they saved me $30 by getting the wrong ram. I ordered 3200, but they only had 3000 RAM. I know it's not a huge difference but I'm paying a lot of money, and have put a lot of thought and research into this build. I was not happy! Then I get a call saying that my case was dirty and had "smoke damage" (I smoke cigarettes) so if I wanted the computer done that day, I would need to buy a new case, or I could pay another $100 to have it cleaned and wait additional day/days (?) for the work to be done. Even though they said they would clean my 5 year old computer at no charge as part of the new build. I asked why they didn't mention this at the quote process, they said because they don't ask people if they smoke. So if it is not important enough to ask, then why would it be important enough to charge me $100 more? It felt like they were trying to up sell me, after the fact that they didn't have the correct ram that I ordered. When I informed the manager that I would cancel the work order if I was charged for cleaning, he said I could come pick it up. In the end, I told them I was un-happy with the way it was handled. I told them I would be giving them a negative review. The workers response of "do what ever you want I don't care" was not all that friendly. read more

I had Seth who works at Friendly PC transfer all info from a desktop to a laptop. As usual, my expectations were exceeded. Informing that it could take 1.5 days when I dropped it off, I actually was able to pick it up the same day. These folks are basically a computer help desk for the individual (I think they have business plans also), and can construct and sell actual desktops also. They are wonderful!!!! read more

Took a laptop in to have the hard drive replaced and the system updated with windows 10. Got it home turned it on and before I could do anything the Zeus virus was detected. Wasn't even connected to the Internet yet. Tried to use my virus protector, but it did nothing. Now all I have is a blue windows screen, nothing comes up on the start/windows button and I am out $310. read more

I had scammers that had put a red message screen on my computer that said if I didn't call the phone number provided my computer would be locked. I called and they wanted money to fix everything. Not trusting them, I took my laptop to Friendly's just to be checked out. Good thing I did because they diagnosed a bad hard drive that needed to be replaced and also installed software protection. If you search back, you will find my happy review for Friendly Computers back in the spring when they totally rescued my coffee-drenched laptop. Today I want to post how happy we are with the new desktop/tower we purchased from Dave recently. We have very specific (non-gaming) uses for this computer, and he designed and loaded exactly what we needed. Perfect! However, one little add-on was omitted (oops!) and naturally we ran into that problem right away. Wow, Matt took remote control of that computer and got that bit loaded in record time -- we are cooking with a full jet of gas now! Great products and great service set this company above all others we have tried. We can't praise them enough. read more

My 14 year old son and I took his computer in to get fixed. We told them that the SATA cable was taken out of it and they said that it was ok, they have one. We then explained the problem. Windows would not load after being installed. The guy at the counter was very friendly and said that it sounded like a software problem, so they weren't going to charge a shop fee up front. The next day they called and said that the problem was fixed and asked if I wanted them to install windows for an additional $160. I told them that we could install it and $160 is overpriced for not doing any work. My son picked up the computer and paid for the alleged repair. When he got it home, it still does the same thing. I called Friendly PC to find out what they fixed. I was told that they installed a SATA cable and that was all, because I didn't want them to install windows. Now my son is out $80 and his computer still doesn't work! read more

This is my third YELP post for Friendly Computer. As like the other two, it is 5 star. My old computer was damaged, and needed to be replaced. I called, and Dave helped me. He told me what to be sure and get in my new computer from NFM or Best Buy. After not wanting to go through the hassle at the big box stores, I decided to get my new computer through Friendly Computer. They told me, that they would be a little higher. I trust what they tell me, and believe they are honest and upfront. The thought of starting over with a new computer was overwhelming. Dave told me, he would try to set it up in the same way as my old computer. Dave did just that. The next morning, I was trying to download a photo to my photo album. It downloaded, but I could not find it. I called Dave, and he remoted into my computer , and in 3 minutes, the problem was resolved. I would, and have referred people to Friendly Computer. I my opinion, they are honest, competent, and care about their customers. read more
