I recently had some work done on my hard drive. AME got the job done in the time they stated and the price they quoted. It almost made me wish that I needed more to be done. Tony did a tremendous job in responding to our crisis situation. We had a situation where a computer with two years of work had water damage and the information needed to be recovered the same day. Tony, prioritized our situation and prioritized the most important files and recovered them in a couple of hours. He was calm and didn't overpromise, but really came through. The cost for his services were extremely reasonable given the importance and value of the information and sense of urgency to get that information back. Tony is great at what he does and provides reasonable prices. I had been meaning to get the photos off of my mother's old computer and kept putting it off. I went through some reviews and decided on AME by chance. I am so glad I did! Garbage to Gold: i stumbled onto AME computers using my trusty Yelp App. I saw they were locally owned, and after talking to the tech there knew they could help me. Despite only 1 Yelp review, I trusted my instincts and brought my 3 broken apple products to them. What was supposed to be trash, was able to be repaired by them in less than a day. 2 iPhone5's and an iTouch all had broken screens, cracked beyond the ability to use them. In particular, my wife's phone, which was a necessity, as all phones are. That was fixed the same day and we didnt miss a beat staying "connected". All three items, valued at roughly $800 current pricing are now repaired and fully usable. A great local business that deserves some attention for customer service and an honest demeanor. read more

Typically I do not post reviews but I feel that people should know what happened. i dropped my pc off two months ago due to needing my processor installed professionally. the chip was defective because I had messed with it. I ordered and replaced the following parts: Processor and a motherboard (because now it was bad according to the owner of the shop). Tony then proceeded to tell me that he was incapable of updating my bios on the new motherboard in order for it to be compatible with the new chip I had purchased. all parts were purchased under his suggestion. we sent all the links and pictures and descriptions of parts before bringing them to the shop. he then made an excuse saying that I should purchase another motherboard to update the bios. He doesn't have the appropriate tools and necessities to work on "Any" electronic. if you need specific work done that is more in depth than plugging in a power supply do not choose this place for your business. The final straw was when I came to pick up my pc he gave me the empty motherboard box and my pc. minus the new cooling fan that came with the new chip because he decided to keep my new one to save thermal paste. then told my bf that he was just busy and it was already on so he left it like that. he also tried to keep my old motherboard and my outtake fan was stolen off my pc as well. if you are truly desperate and need cheap unreliable services Tony is your man. not only will he keep your equipment for long periods of time with the most ridiculous excuses. he will also try to scam and steal your old "bad" parts and new ones if you're not careful and pay detailed attention to your equipment. A thousand percent do not recommend his services. he charged me $107.00 for the past two months of excuses, manipulation and at the very end theft. read more

Aug 4, 2018 1:30pm - Tony has agreed to pay price of broken lapotp today. I spoke with Tony yesterday. He has agreed to reimburse the $116 that was paid for the laptop a month before dropping it off at his shop. It is unfortunate having this draw out for I believe 3 months being that I dropped it off in May, have come in at least 4 times to between dropping it off, too discuss the damages, and then too pick it up in this condition just to have to go online to review in order to even get some accountability...go back in when Tony called just to have him haggle with me on how they can go about the repairs. When he finally agreed to pay for the cost after reviews are updates he said he'd also be keeping the damaged orignial. Meanwhile I'll be without while ordering another. Its a $100 laptop BRAND NEW. Its always been about the principle and I would think Tony would want to go above and beyond to actually provide the CONVENIENCE I originally brought it to him to receive AND possibly even retain a custom; while growing business by word of mouth advertising, and a 5 star rating. I tried to get my computer, an Ipad and a Bluetooth speaker fixed by this business. The computer was the priority. I had dropped the Ipad and speaker off in May and Tony said he would try but was unsure if he could fix them. Every time I called it was one excuse after another about how they had not gotten around to looking at them. I wasn't terribly concerned about them, so I really overlooked the excuses at the time, and when my laptop died, I took it to him because he seemed very nice and had fixed a minor issue with it one time prior. However, after 2 months went by with my laptop I was very frustrated. I told him I would come retrieve it so I could take it somewhere else to get it fixed. It was apparent he hadn't even ordered the part for it. He convinced me to give him one more week to order the part and get it installed and he wanted to "do right by me". I gave him another chance. When the new mother board arrived, it didn't work. I advised him I would pick up my computer unfixed and that my one of my biggest concerns was his total lack of communication with me during the whole process. When I arrived to pick up my computer, he had lost the brand new power cord I had dropped off with my computer. I was not happy, but left. I took my computer the next day to Special Touch Computer Repair. Guess what?? It wasn't even the mother board that was the problem. Not sure what Tony was doing this whole time, but Robert at Special Touch contacted me back in hours and fixed my computer in a day. Guess which one I'm recommending? Oh...and the Ipad and speaker that he had that he had for 5 months never got fixed either. read more

I have been using this company for almost 2 years now. I went to another place originally because suddenly my 3 year laptop wouldn't give me any access--unit powered up, but I couldn't use the mouse or touchpad to access anything. So--took it to another place--they wanted $100 just to take the back off & total of $300 to actually open it up & work on finding the problem. Was told my hard drive was probably going out & I would probably need a new one. So---went to AME & Tony took the back off ---it was in a small corner of the back---took less than 10 seconds for him to see that 2 of the screws holding the hard drive in place had fallen out!!!! He has a bowl with all sorts of different screw sizes --he found 2 screws & put them in--hard drive didn't move anymore!!! He only charged me a VERY minimal fee for this. I have since gone back 3-4 times--needed dvd player activated, needed ad blocking added & needed total reboot because had some BAD people try to get into my laptop. All costs have been very reasonable & laptop has been returned within 1 week. I have to drive to this location from 48 & Dodge in Omaha--it is a fair distance for me---but I know I DON'T have to worry about getting ripped off. read more

I took my Asus laptop to AME computers to have the digitizer (touch screen) replaced, because it had fallen and cracked. I was very unhappy with the way they handled my laptop, and their business. When I left my laptop with them, I left the adapter with it, and a wireless mouse USB on the laptop. When I picked my laptop up both the adapter and mouse USB were lost or misplaced. They were each returned to me with a trip back to their location for each of them. When I picked up my laptop, the new digitizer they put onto my laptop was barely on, they told me it was the best they could do with the adhesive left on the laptop. I assumed it would be OK, because they knew what they were doing, but I was wrong. The digitizer had come off enough within a couple of days, and when I opened the laptop, the digitizer fell down, as I lifted the top up, and the new digitizer- which costed $100 was once again cracked. I returned to AME computers hoping for more assistance in getting the digitizer fixed, and when they went to look at the digitizer, they cracked it more and caused it to spider out across the entire digitizer. At this point I had spent $190 for it to be fixed, and they said the best they could do would be to pay for 80% another new digitizer. I did not want to leave my laptop with them again, so I opted for them to remove the new, damaged digitizer. They returned $50 to me, of the $190 I spent there for the new digitizer and labor. I would not return here for any future computer/phone issues, and I would advise others to stay away. read more

I have always had good service with Tony and his group. I have had 3 laptops and 1 desktop that he has taken care of and he has always been quite honest with his diagnostics and what would be best for me in the long run.
