Came here in the afternoon on a summer day and unfortunately if you don't have reservations you'd be seating right at the front by the bar area / door. Weekends do get crowded so I'd recommend making a reservation if you can. We had the fish and chips & a chicken club sandwich. Both were good but not amazing. Good brunch spot to go with a group & prices are about average. They do have other locations in the city so no worries if you're not in the area by this one. Not really much other to say than that tbh lol

The customer service was great. Both bathrooms were occupied but my friend and I just needed to wash our hands, so a friendly employee offered to let us wash our hands behind the bar up front. Our server was also kind and helpful with answering questions. Unfortunately I wasn't super impressed with my food though. I got the lemon ricotta pancakes but I thought they could have been more lemony. The texture of the pancakes was a little stodgy and crumbly at the same time? I assume it was due to the ricotta. And I really only tasted lemon when I got bits of the candied lemon zest. I also got a side of potato hash and it was really quite flavorless. I added salt and pepper but I guess I would suggest adding onion or garlic or peppers or something else to it because it was pretty underwhelming.

decent gluten free diner spot! we waited 15 minutes for a group of five - and there's a decent amount of seating that was pretty comfortable + cozy. it was a bit expensive for the quality and amount of food received, and the service was a bit slow but friendly. I enjoyed the lemon ricotta pancakes - noting that the batter itself was just a regular pancake with some garnish that was a lemon ricotta flavor.

What a wonderful experience! We sat at the bar.. it was a great view overall of the restaurant and ability see the singers! Amazing performances! I'm gluten free and their selection was killer! Even carrot cake for dessert! Our bartender was great! And he didn't rush us through our meal at all! I will be back the next time I'm in turn for a show!

Friedman's: Brunch Without the Buzz Stopped into Friedman's in Hell's Kitchen for a Friday morning brunch, and while the space wasn't crowded, the service stood out--warm, attentive, and quick to check in. We ordered the chicken chilaquiles, a breakfast burrito, and a side of tomato bisque. Everything arrived fresh and as described, but the flavors didn't spark much excitement. The food felt more functional than memorable, leaning into consistency rather than creativity. Given Friedman's reputation and the buzz around its various locations, I expected something with a little more personality--something that would make it feel worth the hype. Instead, the experience felt more like a polished franchise than a neighborhood gem. Reliable? Absolutely. Special? Not so much. A good stop if you're in the area and need a comfortable brunch option with solid service, but don't expect it to linger in your memory after the meal. #HellsKitchenEats #NYCBrunch #FriedmansNYC #FoodReview

This is an awesome local gem in Hell's Kitchen. Cozy and warm, with lots of wood and charm. Great atmosphere. The menu is extensive, reasonable and covers lots of tastes. We came for lunch and enjoyed great cocktails like the Bee Sting (bourbon with ginger, honey & lemon -delicious!) and Hudson Margarita (frothy and tasty!) The matzo ball soup was very fresh, the vegetable potstickers were a great appetizer, and the pastrami hash (served with two sunnyside up eggs) was so flavorful and filling I skipped dinner!) Their NY cheesecake was also fresh and very light. Mahayla was a delightful server and the food and drinks were excellent! We'll definitely be back!

I stopped by after work with some colleagues and it was about a group of 9 , the place is quite small but they accommodated us! We sat down and had some great drinks! The appetizers are GREAT, my fav was the Korean wings! I ordered the steak frites, and they didn't have one of the sides so I opted for Brussels sprouts. A great spot for a quick dinner and great drinks!

This restaurant exceeded my expectations and was delicious with every bite. The staff was friendly, attentive, sweet and took great care of our group. I enjoyed the location and the environment was perfect. I began with a dirty chai and almond milk and I enjoyed this very much. Then we ordered the Korean wings and I unfortunately did got get a picture because we all grabbed them quick. They were crispy, flavorful, and delicious. Next I had a bite of my cousins mac n cheese and this was also delicious! Crispy on top and very cheesy/flavorful in the bottom. Next I enjoyed my chilaquiles and these were terrific. Crispy with a really nice tomatillo sauce and the perfect balance with the crema, queso freso, and avocado. Lastly I tried a few bites of the chicken and waffle and the lemon ricotta pancakes, not pictured. The chicken was incredibly crispy, flavorful, and tender in the middle. And the cheddar waffle was fluffy and delicious with the touch of syrup. And the habanero sauce was great! And to end it all the lemon ricotta was incredible. Seriously, everything was amazing! I hope to go back someday and try everything I can. Thank you for the incredible experience!

Great chicken and waffles here but no normal waffles available, the cheese one was good but would've liked something plain. All in all a good time but not sure if I'd come back with all the other choices. Happy we came and saw this place though and would recommend to try it at least once.

My friend and I went to Friedman's on a recommendation for brunch. It was busy but didn't feel too crowded. We made reservations and was able to sit right away. We both got the steak and eggs and fries. The steak was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. Solid brunch place if you're trying to get a good meal.

A great option when anyone in your party is gluten free. Almost everything on the menu could be substituted and my friend that is gluten free loved her meal. I loved my dirty chai latte and the breakfast burrito was exactly as described. The service was really friendly and we were well taken care of during the meal

We were invited to dinner by a friend. This restaurant located at the corner of the street 8 minutes from the Jacob Javits Center is a natural place to go to after a convention. Inside was small but enough room for 10 people although they originally had only 8 people they managed to squeeze in two more. The atmosphere was lively and they had plenty of drinks to choose from on the menu. They had a variety of meals to choose from including vegan. I ordered the brick chicken and my husband chose a pastrami sandwich. My brick chicken was moist, well-seasoned and its skin was crispy. The brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes was seeping in the delicious essence of the chicken. My husbands pastrami sandwich wasn't very big but the meat was tender and delicious. He liked it. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Our water cups were filled and empty dishes were removed right away. Highly recommend.

Friedman's d/b/a Gayle's Broadway Rose where there are singing servers who are struggling actors/actresses attempting to get into the acting/stage/film industry while working in the food service restaurant business. I did not experience the singing servers during my patronized visit. Upon entering the Maître d' announced "right now, we're only seating at the bar counter not at tables," so why do I see patrons sitting at booth tables? Oh! It was somewhat busy but not at full capacity for full-on hustle bustle busy. Seating for one, please. Me, myself and I. Friedman's is located adjacent to Hotel Edison and restroom facility is in the hotel's lobby. Access to Hotel Edison's facility is limited as the hotel's staff will stop all who enter as I am not a hotel guest. I believe Friedman's is very overhype, and overrated. My male server/waiter calls all the female patrons "love" which does not bother me and does not irk me at all. But please do not call me "babe", "baby", "mamma" or "mommy" as these are too sexist, outdated and stereotype in some cultures/race directed at women. Friedman's is certainly a modern American luncheonette. No comment for alcohol as I not order any. There are no business cards for keepsake. Pastrami on rye $26.00 Mustard, pickle and vinegar chips The meat heavily embedded with a lot of white fat stretched and stuck together when bitten. The meat tasted very bland lacking flavor. The pastrami is NOT brined, seasoned certainly not smoked and not a hot sandwich. It is not cured pastrami. The mustard was mild spicy which gave the meat a zesty kick for aliveness, but very minimally applied. The pickle was average. The vinegar chips were very stale and harden. The rye bread was average with caraway seeds which was blah. I am uninterested in caraway seeds. Katz's Delicatessen continues to reign supreme in pastrami on rye as the meat is excessively abundant quantity piled high and very flavorful taste without the need of mustard or mayo condiment. I prefer this sandwich accompanied with fries like Katz's Delicatessen offers. At the bottom of the sales receipt there is a suggested gratuity in intervals of 20%, 22% and 25% where customers do not have to perform math calculation. I was able to obtain my sales receipt as keepsake.

But when we opened the sandwiches our bacon was just 3, maybe 4 fatty pieces when we specifically asked for crispy bacon. My husband settled for his, but I requested a reorder where they corrected the bacon issue, and even put more slices. Besides that snafu, I was excited for my latte, but was also underwhelmed by the taste. I assumed since it was a biscoff cookie latte (which I love) that it would be sweeter...
