I appreciate that Dr. Friedman took the time to answer all my LASIK related questions even though his office was extremely busy. I returned today to pick out glasses and sunglasses. They have an office puppy. Enough said, 20/10 will come back again . I have never had an eye appointment as an adult and this was a great experience! Emily, Sandra (I think), and Dr. Friedman were all super nice and incredibly helpful. So of course as soon as we all need to stay inside because of COVID-19 my eyes starting feeling strained and we. Turns out I need glasses. Making an appointment was easy and someone answered quickly. The wait at the office was longer than usual, but I am fine with that because they are sanitizing everything and letting in a limited number of patients at a time. Despite being really busy the everything was managed very well and everyone was really nice to me. I didn't feel rushed at all, even though I took awhile choosing my glasses. Sandra, who helped me choose glasses, was able to tune into the style I was looking for really quickly and found me all the pairs that suited my style (I would have just been staring blankly at a million pairs without her). Review 1) originally 3 stars- Dr Friedman is great. However, I was right on time and waited 30 min to be seen. Then I wasn't given my contact lens prescription before leaving, even though I said I would end up purchasing online because it was significantly cheaper. So I called them while on my way home asking if the prescription could be emailed or something and they said no due to HIPAA laws of course- but you know it would've been nice for the staff to just hand me my prescription before leaving just like every other optometrist I've ever been to. Now I have to go back. Review 2) edited- now 5 stars. I received a call from Jacqueline the general manager there the day after my appt profusely apologizing for my experience. First off, honestly the reason I chose this provider was due to the all the great yelp reviews (yes I do actually read them to see if they are authentic and valid ) My appointment was on a Friday at 3:45pm which understandable is a busy time as the office was really busy when I arrived. The front desk staff was personable, friendly, and calm despite how busy they were. They were incredibly knowledgeable, provided initial visit paperwork with clear and precise instructions and had answers for every question I had. This was impressive to me because i've been to some offices that lack this. The young girl that administered my eye tests (for Glaucoma, etc), was great also and super friendly. The Optician I saw (didn't catch his name) was great, had a good personality, very jovial. After the Optician with I sat with Jennifer (actually did get her name ). She also was super friendly, outgoing and had a great personality. Very knowledgable about my benefits, well prepared for any questions I had and thoroughly explained my upfront costs and copays. Staff really can make or break an office and can be an asset or a liability. I've read numerous reviews on here where the actual Dr was incredible but the staff was rude, disrespectful, and outright mean and the reviewer said they would never go back because of the staff. It had been years since I had an eye exam or got new glasses, so I was really looking forward to getting some new lenses and checking on my eyes. Upon arriving, they were a little busy, and I felt a little nervous about the service I would get because I felt a little rushed by the girl who checked me in. But I sat down and completed my paperwork, and from there, everyone was really nice and helpful. My appt was on time, the facility was clean and had a nice ambiance, and the eye doctor was very friendly and patient. When it came time to pick my lenses, Jennifer, in particular, went out of her way to make me feel really great about my new glasses. She provided me with various options for my somewhat restrictive budget and ultimately helped me decide on a really great pair that I cannot wait to pick up! Dr. Friedman and his staff (especially Alma) are really nice and friendly, they all do a pretty good job at a comprehensive eye exam. However, I was disappointed at how difficult it was to maneuver a wheelchair through the office. Even while trying to sit at the three machines that examine the eye, there was no space for a handicapped person to be comfortable. Despite being a Medicare accepting office, the layout of the office wasn't designed with the disabled in mind. It was clear that the doorways and walkways were JUST barely ADA compliant. I would have also appreciated some help opening the door and wheeling my passenger through. The staff was accommodating and tried their best to help us out (we eventually did get all the pictures taken) and Dr. Friedman was really nice as well and honest in his assessment. One thing I found refreshing was his frankness and willingness to do the best for the patient despite trying to run a business. For that reason alone, I would probably return if I need a follow up in the future. There's tons of street parking out front so that wasn't an issue. There is an office dog that's sweet and non-intrusive. read more

My eyeglasses were sitting on my face completely crooked for about a month now, and I finally decided to see if I can get them fixed. I happen to call them though right at the end of their workday and I ran down the street and got there maybe five minutes before they closed. The godly welcome to me and I sat down and talked with one of the employees there for a few minutes when the tech came back had me put them on my face they were a little better. So she went back and adjusted them two more times to make sure that they were just right on my face. I was so thankful because I didn't realize how loose everything was on my glasses as well. Lupe is nothing short of a magical frame fitting wizard!!! I feel so lucky I was able to have her help finding new frames. This is literally the WORST event for me because I have a narrow face and little hateful nose due to multiple sinus and reconstructive surgeries. Looking at frames and having some lackluster helper just agree with whatever I say so that they can get my indecisive self outta there is my normal experience. But NOT LUPE! Despite my visit taking over an hour and a half to purchase glasses, I have to say I left w a big smile on my face. I prob experienced one of the best customer service experiences in a while. Emily greeted me when I arrived and when I mentioned I needed to replace my glasses that broke she asked if I had the old pair. On her own she asked if I would like the technician to see if there are any frames that would fit my lenses. I appreciated her trying to help me since I had actually just replaced those lenses a few months prior. She didn't have to do that and could have just tried to sell me a brand new pair. Tim, the technician, came out immediately and started searching shelf by shelf popping out lens after lens to see if mine would fit. He brought over a couple of pairs of colorful frames and took a look at my more masculine/butchy style and then said he would keep looking for more options! Lol. I'm pretty sure he gave me every option in the store. Meanwhile, Emily patiently priced out every lens for me so I could eliminate ones out of my price range. At no point did I get the feeling that I was irritating her even though I had what seemed like a bucket of lenses in my tray. While I was trying on glasses I asked if I could remove my mask to see what it would look like without steaming up my glasses and without a mask. Lupe said I couldn't (which is where I feel most places of business leave it these days). But she then offered for me to use the back room when no one is in there. She said there is a mirror and a counter I can put my glasses and take my mask off there. As soon as the patients left she let me know I could go in. I thought that was really nice of her. Finally, Lupe helped me check out. She sat with me help make the final decision on my frames and work out what combo would work best with my insurance and which I should buy with cash since I wanted to get one pair of frames for my lenses and one pair of sunglasses. She also made sure it was something I could afford. Everyone was super helpful and friendly. I've been going here for about 10 years now and have always had a great experience. But this was the first time during covid and they were fantastic! read more
