I can't really say I would recommend Friday's Harbor Inn, but I can't really say I wouldn't recommend it either. It could be because it's the only place I've stayed in Friday Harbor, so I don't have a lot to compare it with.
We stayed in the room with a Jacuzzi on the patio. They did a good job of building a high fence around it, so as to let you have your privacy. They also got a little carried away with the chlorine. You could smell it walking past the tub, feel it burning your skin in the tub, and suffered from the dry skin after the tub. And that's including a nice long shower after to wash it off. We actually kept hoping it would rain, so we could let it water down the tub a bit. But on the plus side, we weren't worried about any water born nastiness.
The room was awkward in the layout (you'll see what I mean if you stay there). It did have a nice gas powered fireplace. The bedroom was ok, and the bed comfortable enough. The room was also old people friendly, with a fold down seat in the shower, and an extra shower head. We enjoyed both these items but probably not in the way they were intended. Also, they had a heated floor in the bathroom; this I would definitely say is a plus.
The real advantage to staying at Friday's Harbor Inn, is its proximity to downtown Friday Harbor. It is a couple minute walk to the ferry, restaurants, and shopping. Which is great, after a night at one of the local bars. read more
