Wow! Just wow! The flights to and from Friday Harbor from their location near Sea Tac were amazing! What a fun way to travel. We were flying low enough to see the scenery of the area including a good look at the Seattle skyline. There were some clouds so the mountain view was not as clear as it would be on a sunny day. Didn't really matter since there was so much else to see. Shane was the pilot both flights and he is very experienced and safety conscious. He also knows a tremendous amount about the area. I just wanted to say thank you for an amazing experience!! Our Delta airline flights were delayed by 8 hours and the first day of our trip to Friday Harbor was not what we had expected. We got stuck in Seattle and missed our original transportation by car and ferry but Friday Harbor Seaplanes came to our rescue. Michelle was absolutely amazing and got us booked on the first flight out the following morning so we didn't waste another moment of our trip. She arranged a shuttle to pick us up at the hotel we booked which was also quite the task as many hotels were completely booked up but we finally found one and Friday Harbor Seaplanes accommodated us and got us to the airport and flew us in to Orcas Island. I was really impressed by our pilot and how well he flew the plane. I was a bit nervous and I tend to get motion sickness and he made the flight very enjoyable and even checked in with me during the flight to see how I was feeling. I felt he took slight turns a bit more slow and careful with me in mind and it was very appreciated. My friend also had her baggage delayed by Delta Airlines for 2 days and Michelle was so kind to try and help us by arranging for the airport to deliver the luggage to them so they could bring it to the Friday Harbor dock on one of their daily flights. Unfortunately Delta was being lame and they wouldn't do it, but the fact that Friday Harbor Seaplanes was willing to help us went above and beyond our expectations. What amazing customer service! I hope to one day visit the islands again and without a doubt I will use Friday Harbor Seaplanes again. They treated us like family!! Thank you! I wholeheartedly recommend this business. Really disappointed.... had a trip booked and had to cancel because of the pandemic and Friday Harbor would not give any type of refund! Southwest Airlines gave full refund, Marriott have full refund, Wedding venue gave full refund, rehearsal dinner venue gave full refund, tuxedo rental company gave full refund, catering company gave full refund... BUT NOT FRIDAY HARBOR SEAPLANES! I guess they are in the business of profiting from a pandemic! Talk about taking advantage of a horrible situation that we are all in... I recommend you book with another company and avoid doing business with a company like this. read more

Our flight to the islands was so great, when it was time to leave the islands, we canceled our ferry out and booked another FH Seaplane. We misread our flight times for SeaTac and realized we had to be at the airport much earlier than anticipated. Friday Harbor Seaplanes did EVERYTHING in their power to get us off island and to the airport on time to catch our flight home. Odds were against us, but these people made it happen. They were incredibly accommodating, even returning my call the evening before when I realized our error (after hours). And seriously, taking their seaplane is the only way to go. The views are incredible and they share information along the way with a smooth landing. One of the best experiences ever! read more

This was my gift to myself to splurge on a plane ride to get to the San Juan Islands to see the orcas. It was worth every single dollar! Everything was amazing from beginning to the end. From the time was walked in and was greeted by Jen and Shane. Jason flew us to the island and Shane flew us back the flight was easy breezy & relaxing. The guys are super knowledgeable and point out things along the way. I highly recommend this company and next time we're on this side of the country we'll definately fly with them again! read more

These guys were awesome. They came to pick us up at the dock of the Mercer Island Beach Club so we didn't have to drive to Renton and, on the return, when it was too windy to use the Beach Club Dock, they instead used a residential dock that belonged to one of the guests on the plane. Who ever heard of an airline being so accommodating? And there was no extra charge! I've also flown on Kenmore Air, but these guys are now my go-to seaplane company. read more

I actually give this establishment a "0" rating!!!! I am most disappointed in their response to refunds during this time of devastation for all. Travel is restricted, events are cancelled, happenings are NOT happening. We all need to adjust- it sucks but we are all in it together. Our to to San Juan Islands kayak/camping trip, finalized with a Seaplane from Friday Harbor to Lake Renton + Shuttle to SeaTac. Our outbound trip was with a different Seaplane due to our own itinerary. The pilot was very nice and showing us different sites. The plane ride was spectacular, as expected. I would have given them 5 stars, but for the following two reasons I didn't. Upon arrival, my crew of 13 was booked for shuttles to SeaTac. But because of our size of our group, 9 of us were placed into a van and my other three were put into an Uber. However, they added 2 people from another reservation in the van I booked, still separating my group. I complained, but not much effort was made to adjust - because we were all going to the airport anyway. 2nd item, I was on the impression we were going to be dropped off at Departures of our airline (Alaska), but instead they have a policy to drop every passenger off at the end of the terminal near Cell phone area(?) then you have to walk to your terminal. Be sure to find out where the shuttles take you for your departure. read more

Once on the plane, this was a 5 star experience - the trip from Seattle to Friday Harbor was beautiful, fun, full of incredible views, and the commentary from the pilot was awesome. There were some bumps with logistics (picked us up more than an hour late from Seatac, airspace was closed due to Blue Angels practicing in the area,) but all in all a bucket-list type of experience. We were going to be visiting San Juan Island for a wedding, and decided to be adventurous and take a seaplane to the island instead of the ferry. We had a fabulous time! The driver that picked us up from Sea-Tac was extremely helpful and very friendly. The waiting area at the Renton airport was nicely decorated and had lots of interesting information, and the bathroom was spacious and clean. Our pilot (the owner) was efficient and knowledgeable, and treated us to a beautiful ride with many interesting details about what we were seeing. Would absolutely recommend! read more

One of the best experience on San Juan Islands. Took it from Friday harbor to Renton in less than an hour with free shuttle to SEATAC terminal in 10 min. Bonus was the pilot and commentary flying around Seattle. Very pleasant and gorgeous sightseeing of Mount Baker, multi-million dollar waterfront homes and downtown Seattle. Not to be missed! It's a small plane so keep your luggage to a minimum. read more
