(0/5 Stars) I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience today with this location was extremely disappointing. My husband and I purchased a suit and also rented another suit fofrom this store. Unfortunately, the employee who measured my husband did not measure him correctly. As a result, we had to make the hour-and-a-half drive to this location not once, not twice, but three separate times to exchange items because the shirt and vest were the wrong size due to incorrect measurements. When I arrived for the third visit, instead of receiving an apology for the inconvenience, I was greeted by an employee who immediately had an attitude. He was shaking his head before even helping me because I needed to exchange the shirt and vest again. He stated the second return was them just being courteous and that I needed to pay if I wanted another shirt .He then pointed to the receipt and told me he didn't have to exchange the items because they weren't in their original packaging. At that point, after making three long trips for mistakes that were not ours, I simply told him, "Then don't do it," took my items, and left. The responsibility for proper sizing falls on the employee taking the measurements. Customers should not have to repeatedly drive long distances, waste their time, and then be treated with disrespect because the store made the mistake. Customer service is about taking ownership of errors and making things right. Instead, I was met with a dismissive attitude, poor professionalism, and no concern for the inconvenience this caused. I cannot recommend this location based on my experience. If you're considering getting measured or renting a suit here, I would strongly encourage you to think twice. Accuracy, accountability, and customer service were all lacking, and after three trips and hours spent driving, I left feeling completely disappointed. read more

MONTCLAIR TEAM WAS EXCELLENT. Tyrone and Loralee helped us with issues on my husband's suit for our wedding day. They made sure he liked what they were doing and fixed some missed sewing parts on his pants. I can't explain how great this place is. Every time I get a tux here they never fail. All the workers here are very professional. I couldn't return my tux for a week but I called them to let them know that and Daniel was understanding and polite to the fullest. I highly recommend this place. We only had 3 weeks until prom and my son was ready to pick out his tux. He choose the Black on Black Michael Coors Tux and the CSR gave us some kind of Spring discount with us even asking. Total was just about $125, which included everything he needed. Cool! He was fitted and we paid and were out the door within 1 hour. On pickup day, the Thursday before the Prom, there was about 8 people ahead of us. The wait time was over an hour but I could see they were working as fast as possible. Great customer service, quality and rates. Glad we choose this Montclair Friar Tux location. A 48-hr return policy would be even nicer. read more

As a wedding photographer, I have worked with the FT Montclair location on a professional level before, but this was my first time experiencing their staff as a customer. I came in with just 7 days left before our son's prom and I was in fear that I wasn't going to get anything for him in time. That was SO far from the truth. There was over 10 customers either being served or waiting their turn and I watched Stacey, Leticia, Andres, Zen and Daniel working so fast and efficient in getting all of us taken care of... and with kindness and smiles the entire time. After a Walk-Around Santa Anita Mall on 12/30/2022, I found few stores with ties, and at a price I was more than my comfortable with. Many stores that provide business-casual & suits did not have ties. Express has ties, but a Full Black Tie at time of visit came to $45.00 pre-tax. Therefore after a quick search and confirmation call, I went to the nearby Friar Tux location for their available black-ties for near $29.99 pre-tax. I was looking for Standard-Size Ties. While the ties available were labeled "Skinny" they were sufficient with an appropriate width. The Ties also came with a Hankerchief, which became convenient for an emotional guy like me. I got 2 ties, both same size. Hopefully it will suit my father's figure, relatively 1 size larger than I. The other tie was not yet used. Nevertheless, I will not be returning the ties. I will be returning to Friar Tux in the future. Reasonable price, great interior shop for Arcadia business, proper service. read more

Another great experience at a different Friar Tux Shop. Two friends rented their wedding suits at the Long Beach location and since they are on their honeymoon still, I was given the task of returning their rentals. Thankfully you are able to return anything you rent at any location (which is so extremely convenient). You also don't need any paperwork because they are able to scan each individual item to check it back in. Once each item is scanned, they hand you back a receipt with proof all items have been returned. Too easy! I will never bother looking elsewhere for suit or tux rentals and will always recommend Friar Tux. Their prices are great, the selection is extensive, and I've always appreciated the level of customer service. The Montclair location has great hours and plenty of parking in front. We went to Friar Tux last night to set up tux rentals for a wedding party of 7 groomsmen plus the groom, most of whom are coming from areas and states outside our local area. Jenna, the assistant manager was the one who helped us and she was extremely friendly and willing to work to help us find just the right combos of Tux's and accessories. She went out her way and took the time to make sure that my daughter and her fiancee were very happy with their choices.....repeatedly changing out different combinations of Jackets, shirts, ties...etc on the mannequins. By the time we had all arrangements made for all the groomsmen not living in the area, it was 20 minutes after closing...and Jenna remained patient until all the details were complete and we left feeling very good about the whole experience....all due to the professionalism of Jenna. read more

The product quality is subpar. My pants ripped as I was putting on my socks and another groomsmen pants ripped just wearing them. I couldn't even wear them to the wedding so I didn't match the rest of the wedding party. Then I was charged 100.00 for their shotty materials. I will never rent from them again. read more

Kristy C showed me all the different options I have for a rental including there great prices. So I choose a Tuxedo and then she did my measurements and I tried on a Tuxedo to see how it looks and feels. Kristy C made everything so easy for me and I will definitely be back for any of my Tuxedo rental needs. They even offer great prices on suits so I will pick up a couple of them from here. My husband, son and myself walked in today to get a suit for my sons prom, there was about 3 other families ahead of us waiting so we sat down and waited our turn. No one greeted us or said anything to us, as we sat about 4 other families walked in, about 20 minutes into our wait a customer asked me if i was waiting in line, I said no, I'm just waiting, then another customer proceeded to tell us we were supposed to use a QR scanner at the front door to be placed on a list. So we did but now we were last on the list. I went up to the young man who was working and asked him if we could be next because we had been waiting he said, "no we have to go in order of the list and that's why we tell everyone to sign in" I explained to him that no one told us to sign in And he said "thats unfortunate but we have to go by the list because if I don't then i would be taking your word over theirs." I walked away pissed off, he was so rude, like why would we lie? They never mentioned a QR code, never greeted anyone at the door, I'm sure other people didn't use the QR code as well. I will never return, we ended up going to Men's suits king fashion in Montclair and had a COMPLETELY different experience, very kind and welcoming and 2 people were able to help everyone at the same time. For some reason 3 people at Friar Tux are only capable of helping one family at a time. read more
