Verve Bowls -- Downtown Seattle…read more Location? Elite. Walking distance from Pike Place Market, dodging airborne fish and narrowly avoiding a shoulder-check into the Gum Wall. If you're going to refuel in Seattle, this is prime territory. Now let's talk bowl. I'll be honest -- walking in, it felt a little... franchisey. Order-from-a-screen energy. Minimal small talk. Not quite the warm hug of a family-owned neighborhood gem. I was concerned. Then the bowl arrived. Ordered the Vervacious Bowl (Large, obviously -- I refuse to learn). And I LOVED it. Generous toppings. Not a sprinkle situation. A commitment. Peanut butter and açaí together? That combo continues to be undefeated. Jordan & Pippen. PB & Açaí. Some partnerships just work. Ingredients were fresh. Clean. Post-meal feeling? Light, energized, no regrets. That matters. Now for the structural critique. Why are we still building bowls vertically like we're constructing a downtown condo tower? These tall bowls make mixing a tactical challenge. I'm in there trying to integrate layers like I'm coaching a zone offense. Flavor? Great. Execution? Strong. Engineering? We can improve. Great company. Great location. Great variety of options. This place knows what it's doing -- even if I'd love a little more personal touch in the experience. Would I go back? Absolutely. Especially if I'm anywhere near Pike Place and need to restore order after tourist cardio. Rating 4.2 / 5 Açaí Berries Breakdown Taste: 4.5/5 Ingredients: 4.5/5 Ratios: 3.8/5 (vertical bowl tax) Service Experience: 3.8/5 Location: 5/5 Current Status: Tourist Zone Approved Mission Continues: The perfect mix still exists somewhere. -- The Açaí Guy

I stopped by Kitanda early in the morning right before the Christmas holidays. It was the only…read morecoffee shop in downtown open that early, yet the display case was already full of fresh baked goods! Since it is a Brazilian bakery, most of the options are savory (and look very interesting), but I was in the mood for a sweet breakfast, so my choices were a bit limited. I decided on the coconut bun. It was served warm (thanks for warming up for me!) and reminded me of a cinnamon bun, but with a sweet coconut filling instead of cinnamon. It was delicious and the bread wasn't dry at all.

We were looking for someplace to grab a quick breakfast for our long drive ahead. The Brazilian…read morecheese bread sounded so good, and they had açai bowls too. Ok, healthy is good too. Haha We ordered the energy bowl, regular cheeseball, and the Romeo & Juliet. Their cheese breads are delicious! I could eat a bunch of these in one sitting, but my belly would be quite upset (lactose intolerant). The guava and mozzerrella paring on the Romeo & Juliet was very nice! I really enjoyed that. The guava wasn't spread evenly, so I really only had a few bites that actually had both the guava and cheese. I'm thinking of going back to bring home a bag of frozen cheesballs. The açai bowl was hearty and sweet. I would suggest less honey. It was pretty good too. Some bites actually tasted like peanut butter and jelly. Must be the peanut butter, strawberry, and honey combo.
