a plate of cooked crab legs
Wil S.

When I am unable to get down to south Florida and craving the sweet stone crabs, I look to this business for satisfying my indulgence. There is a minimum order of 5lbs. I contacted the owner and place an order late afternoon and received before 10:30am in the northeast the following day. Fresh stone crabs as the name states!!! I have been satisfied with size and freshness of the crabs each and every time. Expensive but worth the splurge once in awhile.

Quite possibly Miami's best-kept secret. Then again, judging by how many people seem to have…read morediscovered it, perhaps "best-kept" is no longer accurate. Having dined at Mastro's in Las Vegas several times, I arrived with high expectations. The Miami location met them with ease. Set along the waterway, the views are mesmerizing. Boats drift by like they're part of the evening's entertainment, providing a spectacle that competes admirably with what's on the plate. The restaurant itself is beautiful, polished, and effortlessly inviting. Service was exceptional. The staff struck that perfect balance of attentiveness without hovering. We enjoyed prime rib and cocktails, both outstanding, delivered with warmth, professionalism, and the increasingly rare art of making guests feel genuinely welcome. Excellent food, beautiful surroundings, and service that never misses a beat. A memorable evening and one I'd happily repeat.

Unfortunately, my birthday dinner at Mastro's was extremely disappointing, especially considering…read morehow much money my party spent. Some of the food we were served appeared to be undercooked, and afterward, multiple people in my party, including myself, experienced symptoms consistent with food poisoning. This was very concerning and definitely not the experience we expected from a restaurant of this caliber. I called the restaurant afterward and spoke with a manager named Adam to explain what happened. His response was that he "can't do anything for me." I found that extremely unfortunate and disappointing. When guests are reporting becoming sick after dining at your establishment, I would expect the situation to at least be taken seriously and handled with care and concern. We spent a significant amount of money celebrating a special occasion here, and the combination of the food quality, several members of our party becoming ill afterward, and the way my concerns were handled left a very negative impression. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously and looks into what happened so another group does not have the same experience.

We all ended up deciding to make reservations at CVI.CHE 105. Let me tell you, this place did not disappoint! All of us agreed this place left a huge impression and made us want to come back! As in, we came back here three different occasions every time we visit Miami and go on our cruise. Every visit, this place has always been busy! We're always greeted warmly and get seated right away. It's highly recommended to make reservations ahead of time! In addition, the service has been excellent time and time again! The menu is thoughtfully curated with small plates, everything from fresh ceviche, tiraditos, sushi, etc. The main focal point though is quality and they SERVE! They know what they're doing when it comes to good Peruvian food. Ceviche Orga de Mariscos, Mojadito Marino, Pescado a lo Macho, Pargo Entero, etc. We've had tried different things and not a single thing lacked any flavors. All of it was absolutely delicious! We left nothing on the plates! Everything we've had were fantastic! We'll definitely be back again to explore more of the menu! If anyone were to ask where to eat in Miami, this place is a key winner!

The food and staff are excellent. The ambiance is cool and interesting. Kevin was our server. Great service and personality. Our meal: -Started with a Manhattan cocktail. It was perfectly prepared. -Spicy Edamame spicy and sweet very good. -Duck Lettuce Wraps a nice piece of duck breast with crispy skin on butter leaf lettuce. It was very good. -King Crab California Roll excellent -Brussels Sprouts with crispy pork belly. Also very good. We finished with the chocolate lava cake. I would have liked the cake to be a little more cooked. It was like a brownie sitting on top of chocolate soup. The flavor was good. The ginger ice cream that came with it was more ice than cream and the ginger flavor was very subtle. Valet parking is available.

So I really wanted to love this place. I have heard about their ladies night and happy hour…read morespecials for a couple years now. My friend suggested we go here before a movie on a Wednesday afternoon. I got there early, as we were to be at the movies, at the Silverspot by 6pm. And ladies night/happy hour starts at 5pm. Upon arrival I was greeted warmly by the hostesses and asked if I was there for ladies night. Then I was given two drink tickets. I sat at an empty bar. There was only one other person seated on the other side. At 5:15 a pack of women (5-6 ppl) walked in and started claiming seats and moving barstools around. I was saving one for my friend who was parking the car. When out of nowhere a manager (or someone who appeared to be in charge) ripped over to where we were seated and started talking to me sternly about moving chairs and saving seats. Never have I been reprimanded for saving one seat at a bar when there were other seats open. But I communicated with her that my friend was parking, and that I hadn't moved any seats. She reiterated again, no saving seats and then addressed the girls who moved the bar stools. Her tone was abrasive and honestly given what had occurred seemed out of place, especially that the bar wasn't packed and the restaurant was empty. Unfortunately, this interaction really just tinted the whole experience for me. I was scolded for something benign and also for something I had not done. Before I was admonished, I managed to order a roll (spicy tuna maki) and a drink, the agave picante. Neither was outstanding but neither were bad either. However, given the fact that it was happy hour food/free drinks it was perfectly adequate, nice presentation on both. The bartender was sweet enough and given how the manager treated us I figured he probably received similar treatment from both management and customers, or either or. So I wanted to tip him well. However, when I went to pay, the gratuity was already included and I said to him I wanted to tip him more than $2.40, because honestly he wasn't at fault at all, for how I was treated by his coworker/superior. But I guess whatever system they use makes it difficult to change because he didn't make the effort to let me pay him more. (It took very long to get our check because of said system, not sure why, but the poor man had to go hunt something down to do so. I paid with a normal card, nothing out of the ordinary as did all the people in my party.) My friend who chose the place and the other patron who was sitting at the bar both commiserated with me about the interesting treatment, and said they never saw or experienced what I did. So I hope it was a one off and maybe I was just unlucky to be seated next to a large group of ladies. But overall, if I had to recommend a place for happy hour, this wouldn't be it. Plenty of other places have better options for food/drinks and better service in the area. But I guess if you can't afford to buy yourself 2 drinks at happy hour prices and you happen to be a female, I understand its appeal.

We weren't dressed appropriately for the dining room but they were gracious enough to let us sit in the bar area and I'm so glad they did. First, service was impeccable. Everyone was kind and friendly and super helpful in sharing places to eat and things to do during our stay, especially Mickey, the GM. I started with the Spicy blackberry margarita and it was an excellent choice. It was the perfect blend of sweet with a touch of heat/spice at the end. It was so good that I had two during LUNCH! The King crab linguine caught my eye on the menu. I typically don't do pasta dishes because of the carbs but I couldn't resist today. And I'm so glad I did. The huge pieces of king crab were probably some of the best I've ever had. The capers added a nice touch. The linguine was cooked and seasoned to perfection. My husband loves Key lime pie. I didn't think we had room in our tummies to hold it but thankfully they have a petite version. That size was perfect. I'm not a fan of key lime pie because it's so dense and tart to me. That was until I had key lime pie at Truluck's! Their version is light and airy and not lip puckering tart. It was amazing. I think we are going to go back to this spot before we leave! It was just that good.

I tried a bunch of things! Before I get you excited, please make sure to get a reservation, the place was PACKED! And we were glad we had a reservation as they were not accepting walk ins at the time we arrived 6pm Saturday. On to the food... The scallop crudo was absolutely delicious! Creamy coconut flavors with delicious savory and herbaceous Thai basil, creamy scallop and the fresh pomelo bursting as you bite through it. Absolutely craveable and simply perfect! The grilled oyster were completely different than I expected! The salted egg hollandaise was something I had never tasted before, the richness and thickness of the sauce coating the oyster completely blew my mind! Don't have 1, you must have at least 2! The second was even better than the first! And the tam tam tam wings! Perfect combination of sweet and spice! I did order extra hot sauces on the side (because I wanted more kick, but not because they lacked flavor, they were perfect and simply elevated by the green sauce that's typically on the prawns apparently). Lastly, the lamb curry, with the egg noodles. The perfect ending to our meal. I loved the texture of the noodles, they had a perfect bite and the lamb was super tender! I would recommend to mix it all up and add a splash of lime. Just perfect! If you can get a seat at the bar, you'll love the hustle and bustle of the kitchen, although the seats are not as comfortable as being at the table, but the friendliness of the staff will make it well worth it!

They oysters were delicious and the beef tartare was good - I wish it had more seasoning or flavor. For our entree, we shared a porterhouse steak with mashed potatoes and the steak was divine - cooked perfectly to our likely, served with flaky sea salt and cut for us already. The mashed potatoes were good. We also got the truffle mushroom sauce on the side which was good - but the steak certainly did not need it. Overall, a good date night spot with a great view of the water. We wish we could have tried the rooftop bar but it is under construction until December 2026.
