I was excited to try a new smoothie place especially after seeing the positive reviews on here. My boyfriend and I ordered a classic açaí bowl, a hum-v sandwich, and a what-the-hell smoothie. The ordering process was comically slow...there were only 3 customers in the place. We waited 30 minutes for our order!! My açaí bowl tasted like awful applesauce the banana on the top was overripe and brown in the center. My boyfriend (who eats everything) took a bite and agreed with me that it was terrible. This place is near my studio so I decided to check it out. Got the mango cleanser smoothie without dates. I have to say it's the most unbalanced smoothie I've ever had. With each sip through a straw I'm getting some kind of strings, I think of ginger--which is confusing because they should have juiced the ginger. And the whole thing just tastes like ginger and almond milk, I don't taste the mango or tumeric whatsoever. Still making a disgusted face trying to drink it. Not worth the pricey $9 something after tax. Yikes. Go to Liquiteria or even starbucks where they actually follow a (good) recipe. Was hoping this would be better. read more

The butternut squash soup is my favorite thing on the menu - I could eat it every day. My advice to anyone in a rush or ordering for a group (even small) is to call ahead so they can start your order. I've tried many things off the menu, but I'd have to say my number one is the cashew cream cheese bagel with marinated cucumbers. Seriously one of the most delicious things I have ever had, and I unfortunately have to move away but I will go out of my way to come here and visit this spot. Also, something I really is that unlike many of the big juice and smoothie chains, they make everything right on the spot and they also make there own almond milk. Just ordered from this place and I'm still enjoying my lunch but I felt like posting a review. I'm sick at home, laid up and didn't want to go out. The owner had the stuff delivered straight to me so I wouldn't have to deal with Seamless -- this is why neighborhood places are so great - the owners care. But also, the food is great. The soups were all good old standbys but really well executed: the tomato cheddar is creamy and bright without being acidic; the squash soup is just a little spicey, and the mixed veggie is just big chunks of veggies and beans in a clear broth-- JUST what I need for my cold. The sandwiches look good, but I wouldn't recommend an Acai bowl from here. I've never had an acai bowl that wasn't frozen before. This one was liquid, not the thick smoothie like consistency that I love. Also, it was so warm which was odd and disappointing since I was really wanting a cool treat. There were barely any toppings at all, and the bowl didn't even remotely taste like acai--I saw the guy making it blend up probably 3 apples with it, and it ended up tasting more like warm applesauce. And at over $9, that's even more reason to skip it. Really wanted to like this place since it's so close to my office. read more
