No frills easy eats close to the main highway. Went for a late lunch - they have parking on the lot. Ordered some poke and fries and ate there. There's a few indoor benches to eat at. Poke was good and the fries were pretty decent also. Would come back if feeling for poke around the area!
Food: Chicken was not that good. But of course, it is seafood based. Poke was the most delicious poke my husband's ever had. Pretty expensive. Service: It's okay. They were friendly. Ambiance: Deli like. Very clean.
Landed in the morning and came straight to Fresh Catch for some poke. They have plenty of parking and the restaurant is very spacious. You order downstairs and they have a lot of seating upstairs. Service is quick and efficient. I got their poke bowl which came with a scoop of rice and chose their shoyu poke. The poke was delicious and marinated to perfection. However, the rice was super mushy which was a bummer. I'd definitely come back and just get 1/2 pound of poke.
First time trying Fresh Catch. Always thought they were mostly poke until a friend said they have other cooked fish and other plates, too. They give you a buzzer after you order, but food was ready pretty quickly. Tried the Ahi Katsu and it was delicious! Not cooked until the ahi was dried out. Nice and crispy Only issue (and friend already knew) is they don't drizzle much sauce on and it could have used more. Would have been five stars otherwise for my plate. Another friend got the beef stew and she said it was weird tasting. Beef pieces weren't tender. Only the potatoes were. We got our food take out, but there's tables with benches to sit at. Tables are resin covered and pretty, but benches look hard, after all they are benches. Service is good, staff are friendly. They are patient with tourists walking in asking questions about the food.
Update after a few visits from the first visit,Fresh Catch is the real deal! Fresh fish is what you find here! Always consistent! You can pick up your food & catch the elevator upstairs to enjoy the views ( haven't done that yet) or take out! Fresh varieties of poke you can ask for made fresh and stored in their showcase commercial refrigerator! When ever you want fresh fish this is the spot! They have salmon & chicken plate lunches too!
One day i craved ahi katsu randomly out of the blue and searched on google places that had it , it brought me here to Fresh Catch and the rest is history lol ( literally ).. This is my second time at their Kaneohe location , I honestly prefer this location rather than the Kapahulu one. I always get the Spicy Ahi Katsu plate , it's literally the BOMB.COM!! The portion is big too , so you can always eat it for lunch and then dinner. They probably have the best Ahi katsu on island , in my opinion. Service is always great too! And food always comes out fast! ** also excuse my pic , the plate tilted in the car (my fault probably) but trust the plate looks much nicer than this in real life LOL **
Oh no ! Wat happened Fresh Catch??? We hate giving reviews like this but we have to be honest. Taking our order was a grouchy aunty who nevah cracked a welcoming smile. Hungry husband's beef stew plate was bland,no carrots & too thick. It seemed like it was a few days old. Potatoes were very salty. I ordered a combo plate with smoked meat & ahi katsu (sauce on da side). The smoked meat was very tasty but over cooked & dried out. The ahi katsu was cooked perfectly but not enough. Let's end on a good note...Mac salad was plentiful & ono ! Parking was busy & there's an empty lot next door.
Having ate here a lot at other locations I finally had time to stop in their new Kaneohe location! Service was great even though the cook forgot the sauces on our food... Ordered, and everything was ready quickly. Decided to eat in as cold food isn't great and was slightly saddened. The ahi katsu wasn't as good as it used to be. The fish was super thin and dry, and the sauce couldn't save it. The poke was ok, but one of them had a little too much sugar for my liking... Overall it wasn't bad, just not the same as it used to be...
Best poke we have had on the island, super fresh, delicious flavors. Not more you could ask for. Prices are double than what you pay at the grocery store. So it's pretty pricey. The shoyu poke was my favorite a little sweet, but not strong. The limu was salty/savory and not too salty like some places. Seasonings were really well balanced, fish was mild. We tried the Ahi salad and it was generous in portion, fish was good and the dressings were tasty. We had tried another location last time we were here and didn't have a good experience, but we got it at the end of the day. It was around dinner time and I wouldn't recommend doing that here. It wasn't as fresh. Maybe it was from the morning? Poke is typically a lunch thing. Never tastes as good if it sat all day. This location was good, we did get it in the morning and take it on the boat for lunch. So not an issue this time.
Great suggestion we received from the crew on our sand bar excursion. We ordered the pastele fries and furikake seared ahi and subbed out the carbs for salad. We at upstairs and enjoyed the beautiful view of the mountains. We can see why they raved about the pastele fries. What a flavor bomb! The pork stew had amazing flavor with chunks or pork and smothered with cheddar cheese. So good! The furikake ahi was good but was hoping it was more rare than was served and the salad wasn't much but greens with few tomatoes and onions. Dressings were ok. Definitely give it a shot and the fires are a must.
Arrived here for a quick lunch. Fresh Catch from what i've heard is most known for their ahi katsu plate lunches. Went on a Saturday so it was busy with all the stalls occupied but we got a parking pretty quick after patiently waiting. I at first wanted to get ahi katsu but i had katsu the night before so I went with a poke bowl instead. Got 2 poke bowls two scoop rice with spicy ahi and shoyu. Other poke bowl with spicy ahi and kitchen sink. Total came out to $50. Now did I wish then and there to get ahi katsu? yeah i wish i did. Poke bowl is good! fresh! but the spicy ahi taste just like straight mayonnaise and I love mayonnaise but i've tried better spicy ahi at other places. Their shoyu poke is really good tho! Would come back again, but for ahi katsu. Used to always drive up to Waialua lunch wagon for ahi katsu but I'll try it here next time.
Customer service is fantastic! The teriyaki ahi tuna(poke) is very fresh and tasty! I got katsu salmon which I absolutely loved. Tuesday and Wednesday I'll have to go back because the specials those days are very special. Monday they are closed. The upper deck was closed today for a special event. The ladies and men's rooms are locked, so ask for a key. There are dining tables inside large enough for a big family or to meet some new friends! There's a little music playing too. Loved it! I'll be going back!
First time here. Had just landed at HNL and was starving! My boyfriend took me for lunch and it was so damn yummy! I ended up with the furikake salmon and I'd order this again. It was cooked perfectly.
The plates took a minute but in the new clean tidy location, it was worth. We got Ahi Katsu and The Poke Bowl. For the Poke we got Ahi Limu and Spicy Ahi. All of it was good! The food tasted fresh. The Furikake on the Ahi Katsu went well. Yum! Parking lot on the side. Decent amount of inside seating too, or you can always take out. Service was nice and super friendly! Would for sure be back at one of the locations read more

First time back since it moved locations now occupied by "Whisky Smoke 808". Still most of the same dishes and still taste amazing, just love the Spicy Ahi Tonkatsu available with both white or brown rice. The food quality and quantity was just a good as I remembered from the last location. The new location has not yet been fully completed yet with only a small downstairs dining area with three long benches. The upper dining area is not yet accessible. Plenty of room for parking at the new location. The order was taken quickly, I would recommend phoning it in ahead if you don't want to wait 10-15 minutes while it is cooked. We will definitely be back soon to enjoy this local seafood restaurant and looking forward to when the top floor dining area is completed. read more

have somehow never tried fresh catch and finally got a chance to today! I like that the rice is not hot so it doesn't cook the poke, and the poke itself was fresh and well seasoned with decent sized chunks. The limu ahi poke was a little too salty for my liking. Service was quick and courteous, and there is plenty of seating inside. Casual atmosphere. Four stars mainly because it is a bit pricey, ($47 for two bowls), but the fish is so fresh! read more

Service was very quick and we were super excited to try this place since we've heard good things. We got the Hawaiian, spicy ahi and spicy salmon. The Hawaiian was tasty but super salty and the spicy ahi/salmon were even more salty. The rice was also super dry. Definitely won't be coming back. read more

Place was clean and well lit. Menu was easy to read and the pictures make your opu more hungry! I had the fried ahi lechon which was broke da mouth! Hubby had the spicy ahi Katsu which he also whacked! Service was nice and fast and counter assistants friendly and happy. Can't wait until the 2nd floor is ready! Oh, and the parking was ample and easy to maneuver in and out of the driveway. read more

Today my food was on point! My Seared Ahi Salad was so fresh! the slab of ahi they used melted in my mouth & was so perfectly seasoned & seared! not overcooked at all! My Garlic Chicken was crispy and fresh! Not one chicken was soggy! anytime i'm near fresh catch in kaneohe i will be buying both of these plates! Worth the drive! Worth the money! Great quality of fish. Katsu was little bit over done. Garlic chicken was the fckn winner for me! Tastes like Fatboys' garlic chicken when it used to be good. Fast service. Our food came out hot and fast. Can't wait til they build a bigger seating area! I would recommend this place if you're looking for fresh fish. Try the Hawaiian style poke. We ordered some for our laulau, poi and pickled onion dinner tonight! read more

Fresh Catch has a new location In Kaneohe. We picked up lunch today and the place looks really nice. Eventually there will be a dine in restaurant on the second level that is coming soon. We ordered a spicy ahi poke bowl, fried chicken plate and Dorito salad. The fish is fresh and so delicious. The Dorito salad was yummy with their special dressing. However we waited over 30 minutes for the fried chicken plate. Apparently there was a huge order before us so it took longer than expected. The staff was very apologetic and even gave me a complimentary small container of ahi limu poke which was ono. There is a small dine in area if you choose to dine in. The blue colored walls, pictures and wall decor are really nice. Can't wait for the upstairs to be completed. read more

EVERYTHING went well! Food was amazing. The bar upstairs was beautiful & the bartender couldn't have been nicer. We were able to taste ALL the poke before ordering. Mac Salad was 2nd best on the island. Seared ahi was legendary. Garlic chicken was perfectly done with a slightly sweet crunch. Not sure which poke was the best - old school (slightly sweet), kitchen sink or spicy shoyu. And if you like salmon poke, this is the place to eat it! read more

Ordered the Spicy Ahi Katsu plate and a pound of the Spicy Ahi. The Katsu plate was amazing - so Ono. Comes with a layer of spicy ahi katsu with mayo and furikake over lettuce leaf for color. As for the pound of spicy ahi - I'm glad I brought to share because salt was heavy on dis one. Either that or it wasn't lomi'd enough in da poke. I caught a pocket of Hawaiian salt and my tongue was pau - but everything else was Ono. I will still come back but I'll ask for a sample next time. Service was fast with talking story small kine since was busy but very efficient and didn't keep people waiting to long. Over to the right of the restaurant is a long bench - cafeteria style where you rub elbows with new friends. We chose to eat on the run since our party was big. Fried "salmon bones": crispy breading on what's left on a salmon after the meat has been filleted. Good taste and some salmon meat. Just have to be vigilant to not include a fish bone with any bite. Counter order and a five-ten minute wait for the order. A few community tables available. Clean restrooms accessible with a key. read more

Ventured out to Kaneohe intending to go to the mall to eat. On the way, husband saw Fresh Catch and mentioned how much he enjoyed it. I said I'd never been and neither had my daughter so we decided to give it a try. Inside was a tad chaotic with people in a line to order at the register. A worker then explained to order your poke first (if you were ordering poke)then move along to order plate lunches (there were two lines). There aren't any lines on the floor, area roped off, or instructions on a wall to explain how to order so it was a little confusing if you're not familiar with the process. They also had some red velvet desserts next to the register that looked good. We decided to dine-in upstairs. Paid for our food, got a pager, was told to go upstairs, then come back when our pager beeps. The dining room is newly renovated and absolutely beautiful with open windows showcasing the beauty of Kaneohe. One gal was tending the upstairs and was very friendly and warm. She brought us cups of ice water and explained how they're waiting on some other items before they can open up the dining room. It's extremely clean and spacious. There's a long bar and she said they can hold private parties, too. If I lived on that side I'd consider it for a birthday party or small celebration. Husband and I shared the furikake salmon and daughter had the garlic chicken. The salmon was fresh, a decent size, moist, and flavorful with two scoops rice. However, the surprising star of the day was the garlic chicken-it stole the show! The chicken was tender, crunch was perfect; as well as the yummy sauce. Hands down beats any garlic chicken we've ever had. Husband said he could eat it every week! The garlic chicken came with mac salad which was also very good. No crumbs left on either plate. *All staff from register to dining room were very welcoming and full of the aloha spirit. Support local! Will definitely eat at Fresh Catch again. read more

I cannot say better things about Fresh Catch! The poke is super fresh and super flavorful! We tried at least 6 different kinds of poke and all of them have distinct flavors and are all super delicious. The poke is also priced by weight so you can decide your own portion size. Staff there are super friendly and let us sample a few to help us decide. The place itself is very clean. Def stop by if you're looking for good poke! read more
Spicy Ahi Katsu. That's it. Whether you are Catholic during Lent, or you just want something delicious and light....... I'd try Fresh Catch's Spicy Ahi Katsu. I'll admit, I was surprised. This gets a 5/5 from me because I liked the sauce FIRST. The location in Kaneohe did not disappoint. It was very clean and well decorated, yet simple. The host was very accommodating and also provided suggestions! It was a good first visit! I will certainly be back. read more

Super fresh poke served at a deli-style counter! I ordered a half pound of the spicy ahi and another half pound of the hawaiian blend, each with an extra scoop of rice and here are my thoughts: - Spicy ahi: This is my go-to order at any poke shop and I was really disappointed with this. It was so mayo forward, lacked spice, and overall felt like it was ahi covered in mayo. Couldn't finish it :-( Knocking a few stars off for this disappointing poke flavor - Hawaiian blend: This was super super good! The flavors were so reminiscent of Korean dishes and instantly made me think of spicy rice cakes. Not sure if they put gochujang or gochugaru in it, but it was sooo good and I would 100% come back to get this. Overall, out of all of the poke shops I've visited so far Fresh Catch was mid but has potential for a few standout flavors. I would consider coming back to try the other poke flavors read more

High 3s and low 4s. We were on the hunt to try a new poke place on this specific trip to Hawaii and Fresh Catch seemed like a good spot. First of all, do know that they only do to gos. Would've been great if we knew beforehand and saved on Uber We ordered their spicy ahi poke by the pound, a side of white furikake rice and their spicy ahi katsu which is a popular item based on reviews here. The spicy is ahi is good but nothing special compared to other competing poke places. I would say they do it textbook perfect though. The spicy ahi katsu is an interesting item since I feel like we don't often see it in other places. It's huge with two servings of katsu. The only downside is I feel like the sauces are overwhelming and this paired with the poke might give you flavor fatigue. The great news is, both orders only cost us $35 which I think is such a good deal for fresh seafood! I know one spot that can easily charge you $35 for MP of a small amount of poke. Is it the best poke in Oahu? Probably not. Would we eat here again? Maybe if we're in the area and we happen to be close by but we wouldn't go out of our way for it. read more

There was no line but food took quite a while to prepare. The new location is just down the street from the previous. Kids loved the furikake salmon and the fish and chips. First time having Dorito green salad which was interesting. Not sure if we just went on an off day but there were very few poke selections. read more
Been a few years since we've been here. Omg so good! I got the spicy ahi katsu. Don't let anyone tell you raw or seared is the only way to eat Ahi. One of the best things I have eaten on vacation! Literally amazing. Just think of chicken katsu with Ahi Tuna! They put their mayo sauce along with a spicy Sriracha sauce and furikake- omg. So good! The potato mac salad was great too! Wowowow! The spicy ahi katsu is unlike anything I've ever tried before. How do they get it so crispy?! And yet so tender?? It's just a mystery. The sauce on top comes PACKING with flavor. If you like strong salty-creamy flavors with your katsu, you would love this. The poke was decent but nothing crazy so I'd pass on that next time. But man I will think about this ahi katsu for a long time :') read more

Came with the family for lunch, great awesome food. Fresh and delicious. Cashier was patient with us, friendly staff. Cool pictures on the wall, cool and casual vibe. Could use more seating for people who want to dine in, just a suggestion. Would have given 4.5... But overall place is great. read more
I've heard about this place from several different ways and I also seen it on an episode of DDD so been wanting to try for a while now. The place is in a more modern building and there are a couple locations. I decided I would order just straight up poke like real Hawaiian style. I got 1/2 lb. both of Hawaiian style poke and Hawaiian style spicy poke. Both were very good as the Hawaiian style poke had a very rich and strong flavor which definitely could of used some rice or salad to cut down the rich flavor some. Think it has shoyu and oyster sauce in it so it's on the saltier side. I'd like it more if the sauce was thinned out some. It would be good for salad as no dressing would be needed. The spicy poke was very good and I like the chopped up Ogo (seaweed) mixed in the poke as it adds a little texture. It's not very spicy and would like more of a kick. The fish itself is definitely fresh as the name implies and quality of the cubes were excellent as it melts like butter as you eat. I'd like to return to try the other kinds of poke along with some of their daily specials. There was no dine-in due to Covid so just take your to-go order and eat it in the car. read more

Went searching for a healthy meal such as a poke salad and Fresh Catch in Kaneohe came up. Kept in mind Kuuipo's review about plates being hit or miss. We ordered seared ahi salad and steak plate (with salad instead of rice - liw carb diet here). Somehow I didn't get the aloha feeling when I walked into FC. Interior was beyond neglected. Person who took my order seemed friendly enough, whereas the person who served up our order wasn't very pleasant. Maybe she didn't like me taking photos. After I left, I looked at my receipt. There was 0.03 charge for "bag". Now it's not much but I would appreciate being informed about an extra charge, especially since it was a paper bag which was useless due to natural juices or condensation seeping from styrofoam container. Ahi was fresh, served with raw onions and unripe tomato pieces which was unexpected and unappetizing. Ample parking available. read more

Poke slaps harder in Hawaii. It hits different. And Fresh Catch might slap the hardest in Oahu. I tried several of their pokes. All of them were great but I'm order of my preference it goes Creamy Wasabi, Hawaiian Blend, Kitchen Sink and lastly Spicy Ahi. The service is great too. When we asked if we could try several of their pokes they said "We can do whatever you'd like." It doesn't get much better than that as a customer. read more
