We were on our way to the botanical gardens and wanted something quick for lunch. We got to Got'z Grindz just before they closed. There was some masubis left this late in the day. The staff were so nice! Even though they were were about to close, they informed me they could also make some if I was looking for a specific masubi. We got 5 masubis and some drinks. The masubis were great! They sizes were decent and each one was flavorful. I loved the combo of spam with the radish. And the tuna masubis were great too. Definitely perfect for our picnic!

Adorable display! Pro tip: Take a hanky to soak up your drool as you look at all the flavor offerings.

As we drove towards Kaneohe's Windward Mall from Kailua, we realized that we were in the mood for a mid-day snack. My wife did a quick internet search to see if she could find a place that has good musubi (breakfast of champions, and a perfect hunger-crusher in Hawaii). As it turns out, one of the more highly rated places was basically pretty-much exactly across the street from us as we drove. We looked over, but didn't immediately spot it. The store is actually kind-of unassuming--almost camouflaged. We whipped a U-ee , and started looking. Then, like an ancient pacific mariner, on a historic voyage, I raised Got'z Grindz from the Kamehameha highway. Our finding it was not exactly epic, but travelers are cautioned in their quest to find it, that the store's location happens to be on a turn in the road where the building next to it keeps it hidden from view until the very last second. As soon as we opened their front door I felt like Charlie entering Wonka's candy factory--except, instead of chocolates and gobstoppers, my eyes beheld a dizzying array of inari, fluffy rice, savory meats, soy sauces, and shiso spam. (Sing this next part to the tune of the Candyman by Sammy Davis Jr.) : "Who can take the sunrise?... sprinkle it with furikake. Cover it with Nori and a miracle or two? The musubi man! The musibi man at Got'z Grindz can, cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good. " (catchy, huh? I hereby give Gotz Grindz permission to use that song in any future commercials. ha.) We got the sampler pack (see photo below) and it was the perfect combination of both old favorites and of new flavor and texture combinations. This allowed our taste buds to boldly go where they had not gone before. My wife's favorite was the spicy tuna. I also very much liked it, but have a sweet spot in my heart reserved for the one with ume (pickled salted plum) in it. (My mom used to make rice balls with ume in them when I was a kid.) I thought the price for our 6 sampler's was pretty reasonable. The staff was super friendly and I really enjoyed the whole experience. It is especially fun when one discovers a place that you know you will be coming back to over and over again. This defiantly is a "hidden pearl" in the food world of Oahu's windward side.

The place to go, to grab & go for a variety of Musubi's , fried noodles , packaged snacks bento's , drinks & hot curry & stew. Love that you can park & pickup & on your way. Located across St Marks School . Friendly staff, no pressure staff & older building. Highly recommend!

While visiting Hawaii, my husband and I decided to explore the less touristy side of Oahu and was ready for lunch and stumbled upon Got'z Grindz online! It was a bit difficult to find, you really have to drive slow when you're on the street so you don't miss the building. Seeing the exterior you wouldn't expect to find so many different kinds of musubis neatly organized and displayed, plus we were greeted by a wonderful aroma and friendly staff! There were SO many musubis to choose from, not to mention the amazing smell coming from their beef stew, beef curry, gyudon, and more! We finally decided on Gyudon (Beef bowl), Spicy Tuna Musubi, and Tuna Takuan Furikake Inari. The beef in the gyudon was so soft and tender, the spicy tuna musubi was just the right amount of spicy and had nice soft fluffy rice, and the tuna inari was something new that I tried, and had some interesting flavors but all in all tastes great! Everything was so flavorful, so delicious, the portions were very generous and the prices were super affordable! Not to mention there's so many different options that you'll have to go back a few more times to try everything! Since the spot is more of a grab and go kind of place, the lady who helped us kindly recommended a nearby botanical garden which was great because musubis are the perfect for picnics! We will definitely be back next time we visit Hawaii, Got'z Grindz is a must visit for musubi lovers or anyone looking to try local comfort food.

Got'z Grindz is tucked just off the main road & easy to miss if you're not paying attention, so drive slow as you approach. When I walked in, I was immediately struck by the sheer variety: around 30 different kinds of musubis lined the counter. It was a bit overwhelming to browse through each flavor, but definitely fun to explore. What We Tried - Variety pack with 6 different half musubis - A variety of random musubis - Cold ginger chicken - Karaage chicken - Salmon patty - Fish cake sticks - Salmon skin snack The rice was cooked perfectly - soft but not mushy. That said, I found the musubi fillings a bit too intense. The flavors were bold and layered, but sometimes felt muddled, making it hard to tell what was inside each one. It's a great spot if you're looking to sample a wide range of musubi styles, but for my taste, I prefer more subtle, balanced flavors. Price Point Everything pictured came out to about $60, which felt a bit pricey for musubi. But to be fair, the musubis here are packed with more ingredients than your typical grab-and-go version--so you're paying for the creativity. Final Thoughts Got'z Grindz is worth checking out for the novelty and variety, especially if you love trying new musubi combinations. While it won't be my go-to musubi spot, I appreciate the creativity and effort behind their menu.

Love this spot! Total hidden gem in Kaneohe! Got their musubi sampler to share with my parents and they loved it! They also sell other yummy poke bowls and fried noodles and snacks here too! Great stop over for some yummy musubis and snacks to go!

Got Grindz a wonderful little restaurant on the Windward side of Oahu. Awesome selection of Musubi's combined with a great selection of local favorites and some innovative dishes. Locally owned and operated since 2019. Staff members are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We tried the Musubi sampler, Ginger Green Onion Chicken, Fried Chikuwa (fishcake), Dynamite Chicken, Gyoza, Yakisoba, Mac nut Chocolate mochi, and Haupia Sweet Potato Pie. Loved the Musubi sampler because we got to try their most popular Musubi's all together. Food was fresh and delicious . Definitely cravable food.

Unagi, teriyaki, tofu and vegan spam musubi

Came by early morning to samps some musubi and have a few later for the beach. Their selection is great and the auntie at the counter was so friendly. The unagi was our fav, and the vegan spam was pretty solid but you can still tell it's mock meat from the texture. The tofu spam was really good too, with 'ono furikake! Their teriyaki musubi however had no teriyaki flavor/sauce and just tasted like a classic spam. Would love to come back and try other flavors and samps their bento too :)

My favorite masubi place !!! Best spicy tuna masubi. That always hits the spot after a workout or little side snack.

We got a Spam & Egg Musubi, yakitori, and the Musubi sampler. My hubby's favorite are Daddy G's, Mommy G's, Yumi G's, Tuna Takuan Furikake, and Yakitori. My favorite are Yumi G's, Tuna Furikake, and Yakitori. The rice of the Spam & Egg Musubi is pretty hard so I think it is not freshly made, while the rice of other Musubi are soft and feels fresh. There are a lot of different flavors of Musubi already sold out when we were there at around 12:30pm, come earlier if possible.

Serious Grindz... Always had this place in mind though never make it in time as they do close early at 1pm but because I had another place to visit I was in the area early enough and remember to give them a visit. Just pay attention because if you don't you'll pay right by but having their own lot makes parking a breeze the hardest part was to decide which bite to have though they do have it all out making it so easy to see and the choices they have is quite impressive though some may disagree I do like that it's not all rice though musubi isn't all that they have here it's like a okay's here as well with ochazuke made with Kyoto Matcha, and specials like hamburger steak and ginger pork bowl...how about a musubi sampler...you can even create your own musubi or bowls. its super spacious inside making it easy to browse and I got a goteborg and Portuguese sausage musubi along with garlic noodles. The Portuguese sausage was like a lup cheong sausage and dry, the goteborg was a nice and perfect sized bite, garlic noodles was a nice and flavorful with a hint of garlic. The staff is nice and friendly and a fun place to grab your lunch or a bite for the road. Thank you!

A great spot for a quick casual grab! Their food is made fresh every morning and definitely taste like it. Everything is reasonably priced. We got food for 2 for 4-5 meals for $50. + Food: Miso soup: 10/10. So flavorful with plenty of veggies. All the other musubis are great and generous on fillings. My favorite was the unagi avocado. + Atmosphere: Service is great and quick and they're all very nice. They don't have seatings so it's a to-go spot. I saw a microwave that I assume you can heat you food up with.

The first thing you notice are the friendly greetings from everyone that works there - they seem to genuinely appreciate their customers coming to patronize the business. This was my first visit, the food was very tasty so I definitely will be back to try more. I'll look at the Specials menu before I fill my hands with all the goodies from the self-serve tables. Beware of the humungous pot hole in the parking lot, can't tell how deep it is when it's raining but it will catch you.

They indeed seemed to be very popular as I could see how busy the place was when we picked up ours. It's also a to-go concept only so we enjoyed our pasta at the bench right next to the venue. The pasta was organic and all homemade from peculiar natural ingredients including moringa, taro, sweet potato, bread fruit, avocado, and local saimin. The one serving us was so nice and attentive, which indeed seemed to be needed here given how rich selections they offered. You got the option to pick your own choice of pasta, sauce, and protein or went for their combo. We opted for the latter as we got their Lechon Malunggay Pasta, which was Moringa pasta with roasted pork belly. Portion was HUGEEE and certainly shareable unless your appetite was so big. Meat to pasta ratio was also super general. The pork was cooked to perfection with flawlessly crispy skin yet juicy meat. The pasta came in just the right texture and was already flavorful on its own. You could pick spiciness level for which we took mild and we thought we should've gone for spicy. We also got Ube cheesecake for dessert that was also gigantic LOL. We finished it finally after multiple servings and it was still so good despite kept in fridge overnight. Dense yet not overwhelming and the ube flavor was so strong and I could tell it used real ube. This place was seriously MUST GO!

They do have one of the best waiting areas I've ever seen, as well as a bar area, to wait in, so you are not hovering over others as they eat. You can also order drinks and apps in the area. Their mango margarita was standout, "it tastes just like a mango!" The restaurant appears to be arranged so that most tables have some of a view of their open patio. Even with the rain, it was lovely, and they lit touches as it grew dark. The menu is the right size, I think a more focused menu lends to better food. We had difficulty deciding as everything sounded great. We started with their poke, very good, and nicely presented. We had waited so long I figured I'd just take it back to my room and cook it more myself. I literally had to dip it into my husband's chicken plate sauce just to get some taste. For apps, we got the spicy poke, ceviche, and garlic bread. The "spicy" poke wasn't spicy, and the ceviche had basically no flavor. Garlic bread was okay, and the house bread was warm and soft, but everything else just felt really underwhelming. I didn't even wanna bother order dessert because I couldn't take being disappointed again. Nothing was nasty, just no flavor AT ALL and nothing stood out. You're mostly paying for the view. Literally we ate everything on our plates with that in mind, we almost ate up our plate as well. The customer service was fantastic. Excellent plus they cater to our needs and then also some dietary restrictions that were easily adjusted. I ended up ordering the beautiful pulled pork nachos, which were fantastic made with an excellent brilliant taste and cheese sauce, which they make on site themselves and also utilizes it in the macaroni and cheese. I was more than pleased with this restaurant. Highly recommend it and will definitely be coming back again when we visit the 808. The environment gives classic barbecue restaurant lots of good art on the wall lots of good high-quality vibes thank you guys so much and really appreciate what you're doing.

The owners are horrible humans. I pulled into the parking…read morelot on a Monday and as I was pulling in, saw that they were closed. Bummer. So go to leave and the owner is there in his big white diesel truck blocking the 1 way to leave. So I give a Lil tap of the horn to let him know I'm there. I attempt to then turn around to go backwards out of the 1 way and it was not safe, so I come back through and am waiting behind the truck again. Another man comes out and says, "he's waiting for someone," okay, I respond with a smile, can he pull up so I can leave? Kid relays the message. Owner aggressively slamms on gas spinning out the tires. As I'm pulling through, the kid scolds, "this isn't a roundabout. " I said yea, I'm a customer. I thought you were open. He goes well "We aren't so leave" motioning with his arm. I guess the bummer part, is I really like this place. The food is good. But I won't help companies who are shit to others.
